She could hear the demons screaming as they caught fire. Carly Brooklyn's bones as it lays on the floor.
The smell of death.
Fina walked quietly to the door. A very strange door with no knob or lock.
She was about to touch the door when a huge red eye snapped open in the middle of the door.
Fina turned back at once realizing that she was in a blood soaked white nightgown and barefooted.
She saw an opened door and ran towards it. Then, met herself on the floor covered in blood.
It took her a while to realize that she had tripped and she turned to look at what had tripped her.
Two disfigured bodies lay next to each other. Their blood still fresh as if they had just been killed.
And Fina…. She realized she was soaked with their blood.
Everything was confusing as she came to the fact that something was missing.
She had been soaked already before going to the door but she couldn't remember how. Whatever had she done? Was she there when they were killed? How could she not remember?
She got up slowly and looked at the faces then froze. The familiar faces.
Fina took a step back and looked up when she saw the same shadow.
No.
Not a shadow.
Shadows.
Three shadows.
Her hands trembled in fear as the shadows moved closer.
The shadows were just shadows. There was no bodies or figures.
Behind her was the red eye. In front of her were three dangerous shadows.
She could feel the heat of the eye as it sears her skin.
Fina turned when she realized another door was opened. She ran to the door but not before something grazed her lightly on the shoulder as if the person had missed. She felt the pain deep in her bones but didn't stop running.
Her enemies ran after her and she felt the floor turning into wax below her feet but that didn't stop her.
She was determined to pass that door and with every strength in her, she pushed her body forward and jumped through the open door.
Fina woke up in sweats, her heart beating wildly.
"No. No! No!" Zo shouted suddenly beside her and sat up straight.
Fina looked at her.
"You want to talk?" She asked
She knew Zo have nightmares although she couldn't tell which was worse between them.
Hers or Zos?
"I don't know"
"Tell me this. When your parents died, where did you stay?" Fina asked slowly.
"I lived in the forest" Zo said "I was scared. I was on the run. I didn't want them to find me"
"Who are they?"
"They were dressed in complete red. They looked like demons. It was scary. The Queen used to give them things to do but I don't know what. They never tell me anything. Those people chased me even when I was in the forest. I lost contacts with humans. I'd to stay in hiding until the recruit messenger found me.
I'd to stay with him for a while. I never trusted anyone. I was too scared to trust. I just felt that everyone had connections to those evil demons or they were just in disguise" Zo said
She looked Fina straight in the eye.
"Until you. And I do trust Shelly too but not as much as you. Don't tell her that though "
Fina smiled and winced.
"Do you want to find them?" She asked
"Yes. But not now. I'm not strong enough. And I don't know enough"
Fina smile and tried to raise her hand to touch Zo's but winced as she did so.
"Are you okay?" Zo asked in concern.
It was that moment that it clicked.
She had woken up in sweats. She had a nightmare and she was already forgetting she had had one at all. A part of her which was erased so she wouldn't know how she got there.
"Fin?" Zo asked shakily.
Pain. Her shoulders hurt. She had been stabbed in the dream. But it wasn't real.
Right?
Fina turned her hand slightly to see blood dripping from her shoulders. Her sleeve was already soaked with blood.
Blood dripped down her shoulders slowly.
Zo predicament had made her forgot hers.
Zo gasped when she saw her shoulder.
He eyes widening in complete horror.
But that wasn't Fina's concern anymore even though she knew her dream have started to become real.
What concerned her was…
The two disfigured dead bodies.
A banshee screamed suddenly and they both startled.
Zo looked at her.
The banshee scream was near which means -
It was a Capricorn student.
No. They.
"Another victim?" Zo asked in horror.
Fina nodded.
"Two. Beau Harrison and Lia Mason"
Zo choked on a sob.
"Is that what your dreams were about? Is that how you got hurt? I'm getting worried about you, Fina. They are assessing you through dreams and hurting you. They could kill you. Let's stop this"
Fina shook her head.
"It's too late to turn back now" She said sternly.
"I'm just worried about you. I'd a dream that you died. I'd a dream that you were losing blood and… there were lots of it on the floor and….. And…" Zo said with tears in her eyes.
Fina pulled her to her and hug her with her good arm.
"My dreams do come true. They always did. The same with my parents. It was too late then. It's okay when I'm stuck with dreams of them because they are gone but it's not okay with you, Fina. I don't want to lose you. You are the only family I have, even if we haven't been together for so long"
"Shh"
Zo didn't stop crying.
"If you die, I'll die. You understands me more than anyone. I'll go with you"
"No one will die" Fina said
But, they both didn't believe that.
