Chereads / Why Did the God of Love Choose Me?! / Chapter 86 - Chapter 85

Chapter 86 - Chapter 85

"Do not speak my name, understand!"

Y-yes. I'm sorry…

"Good…."

Why can't I say your name? Who are you?

"Oh, just someone who loves to watch a fool like you get laid by a hot chick."

Y-y-you saw that?!

"All of it. I don't know why you haven't slept with the others. Why not do them all at once?"

Woah, that actually wasn't a bad idea. Wait!

"What are you, crazy?" I He just laughed.

"I'm glad I was awake to see this!" He laughed more.

"Tsk.

It was my turn to not answer him.

"Oh, a weird thing happened in the Dungeon. When I was fighting the Orc by myself for the first time when we snuck past it, it almost killed me. And in that moment, when I was afraid I was about to die, I learned Void magic somehow. I don't understand it, but I won't complain either. It saved all of us."

"I see…so that's how yo in learned the magic. I'm ta strange, and I don't understand the concept-But I won't dwindle on it." They sighed softly as they leaned back in their chair. "As for your question-You really want to go to Elderidge?"

"I mean, not really." I just want to relax and do nothing forever. "But I did promise her we would save her family."

"Ah, yes. I forget. You are one to keep your promises." They smiled softly.

"It's not a big deal. Everyone should keep promises they make. That's why it's a promise." Torappu laughed softly.

"Indeed, you are right." After they stopped laughing, they looked at me kindly. "She spoke highly of you, you know. Sarah, I mean. Spoke of your bravery, determination, your power." They stood up and walked in front of their desk leaned up against it. "She said she thought you were the Demon King."

"A lot of people think that." And that may have something to do with the fact I told them that… "But it's not true, really. I'm just a guy from another world that can-do things differently from the people in this world."

"Indeed, I know that. But she doesn't. She was very persistent that despite your denial of it, you are the Demon King. She told me she can see it."

"See what?" I asked.

"I'm not sure, and neither is she. She said she can't describe it, what she sees. But that she can see something inside you, something different from everyone else."

"I dunno, sounds like a crazy person to me." I shrugged.

"Or maybe she's a Mana reader." They spoke matter of factly. "And because of that, she can see the source of your magic."

"Huh, I guess that would make sense." Like hell it does!

I have no idea what any of that meant. I can conclude a Mana reader is someone who can read your Mana, but what do they mean by the source? But that's besides the point. There was actually something I wanted to ask Torappu myself. "Last time I saw you, you told me to be weary of the voice in my head. What do you mean by that?" Did they know about Azrael? And if they did, what did they know? If they knew something, perhaps they could enlighten me.

"Hmm? Oh, I simply meant your conscience. Don't let it lead you astray. I know how you think, I don't want you turning down the wrong path because of a stupid choice you made." Truth.

"Ah, I see." I muttered. As cheesy as that was and however much I hopped that would have been a lie, it wasn't.

"Tsk, how pestilent of them."

What was that supposed to mean? Well, it doesn't matter. He probably wouldn't answer me anyway.

"Anyway," the worst way to change the subject, but the most efficient too. "Let's say I do go to Elderidge, and I see the dozens of people being held as prisoners. What do I do? Just leave them?" I knew what Torappu was going to say. "I'm not going to leave them there, I told you-I made a promise. I'm not just going to save Sarah's family-I'm going to save them all."

Torappu narrowed their eyes at me. "Do as you will. But you mustn't use magic."

"But-"

"You'll what?" They crossed their arms as they stood up straight. "Kill all of them so they can't spread stories of your magic? Good job: You killed them." They stepped closer to me and leaned down; their arms still crossed. "But what about the innocent people?"

"I-" I what? Shit, I don't know.

"What if they see you as the Demon King? Will you kill them too?"

"No. I won't have to. That won't happen."

"Haha, if you say so." They returned to normal posture and walked back behind their desk. "Now, begone." They waved their hand in dismissal, and at the same time the doors opened.

Yep, that's my que to leave.

I got up and walked out the room where everyone was waiting.

"What happened, Kichirou?" Sarah asked.

"Huh? Oh, I told them we were going to Elderidge ,and they said to do whatever."

"So, we're going to save my family?!" Her eyes lit up as she stepped closer, getting on her tiptoes to get in my face.

"Er, yeah." She's so close! Way to close for my comfort. "It's whatever." I scratched the back of my head as I averted my eyes from her.

She stepped back and smiled kindly. "Thank you, Kichirou."

"Sure." I muttered. She titled her head at my reply. She looked upset, but why? Did I do something?

"Don't worry about him," Patora started as she walked up to Sarah. "That's just how Kichirou is when you first meet him. Once he gets used to you, he'll start speaking to you more."

"Oh, I'm glad." She let out a sigh of relief.

Am I really that bad at conversating with people?

Who am I kidding, of course I am (LOL). I used to pride myself at how fast I could get people to walk away and leave me alone. I was so good that it got to the point that when people came to the door trying to sell their products, I drove them away with my woolgathered replies.

And Sarah was still new to the group, and to be frank, I wasn't sure if I had the mental patience to have another girl added to the group. The three I have already cause me enough trouble, and that's not including Ellie.

"So, are we going there now?" Sarah asked ebulliently.

"Well, not yet. We were planning on going to see Ellie, who is our blacksmith, to get our weapons enhanced." Rubellia shot down her excitement, but she soon recovered with a smile.

"Can I get my weapons enhanced?"

"Of course, I don't see why not."

"Sweet!" She fist pumped the air. I just sighed heavily as I rolled my eyes and raised my hand up. A portal appeared in front of us that would lead to the castle.

"Alright, let's get this done quick so we can go save your family along with everyone else." I said petulantly as I stepped through the portal, appearing in the throne room. My party followed behind.

"Ah, it's Kichirou and his party." The king was mildly surprised to see us, though who wouldn't be surprised if multiple people appeared from thin air. "This is actually perfect timing. I had been meaning to inform you of a job, Kichirou."

I knew it!

I knew he was going to ask me to do a quest when we would meet! Gods, what is it this time? I bet its something stupid. "What is it?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing hard. I just received a letter from the capital of Pintora, in the Kingdom of Paldoria, that they request a meeting. As the King, I'm much to busy, which is why I would like to send you, since you are my advisor and the what not." I sighed softly under my breath. "the meeting is in a few weeks' time, so you have plenty of time to prepare."

"Cool, thanks." The King just nodded.

"But what brings you here anyway?" Sora saved me from having to do anymore speaking as she stepped forward.

"Oh, we came here to speak with Ellie, actually. We're planning a trip to Elderidge and wanted to get our equipment enhanced."

"Oh, I see." He stroked his beard. "Well I'll have the guards lead you to her workspace." He motioned with his hand and two guards came, ready to escort us through the castle.
