Chereads / Why Did the God of Love Choose Me?! / Chapter 87 - Chapter 86

Chapter 87 - Chapter 86

"My love," the queen spoke to the King. "I believe you are forgetting something." The King looked at her with a confused look that said he had no idea what she was talking about. "Our daughter," she frowned. "She wished to speak with Kichirou next time we saw him."

"Oh! Yes, I apologize." He laughed pathetically. "If you would, Kichirou, would you follow me to my daughters room so she can speak with you?"

"But my wea-"

"It's fine, Kichi." Sora smiled softly as she walked up to me. "Just give me your sword and ill take it to Ellie. I'm sure I can guess how you'll want it enhanced." Hesitantly, I did as she told and handed her Nyankunyaku. She placed it behind her back as I did, resting it above her behind.

I couldn't help but watch her butt move with each step she took. I realized I was gazing and shook my head violently. No! Bad Kichirou!

I looked back towards the King to see a gleam in his eyes, one that spoke many words. Oh man… "Follow me." He started, and I did as told, following him into the halls.

The second we were alone, he spoke. "I guess I was wrong about who you had feelings for. It's the Sora girl, isn't it?" He grinned as he spoke.

"W-w-what? I mean, not exactly. But she is really pretty, yeah? And her breasts are so perfectly…." I zoned out, remembering my experience in the shower earlier this morning.

"HOHOHO!! It seems to me you already have had…relations with this girl." He laughed whole heartedly.

"N-No!"

"Oh, so I am mistaken that you haven't slept with her?"

"Why are you so interested in my love life!" I rebelled; my face flushed. Seriously, what was this man? A creep?

"Simple, I'm interested in what your child will be like. With your power and strength, I can't help but wonder if your child just as powerful, or stronger."

"My…child?" My face flushed red. "W-with Sora?!" No, that won't happen! I won't ever have kids! And it's not because it's with Sora, but because I hate kids! They cry to much, need to much, and take away your sleep, which is literally the best part of life!

"Though how strong your child will be wont be dependent on just you, but the mother as well. So, if you had a child with the most powerful person in this world, surely your child would become the most powerful."

"Who is the strongest person?" I asked. I was actually interested in hearing that. It may actually be the God of Deaths chosen hero, as it would make sense, but his next words surprised me.

"It's the Grand Sage. She is the single most powerful person in this world."

"Wait, so the Grand Sage is a girl?" He had recommended if I had a child with her, so that's why I came to that conclusion.

"Indeed, and she's young as well, not as young as you, but she is in her thirties. Much younger than anyone else with power, that us, next to you. Although no one knows where you are rated in this world in power. For all we know, you could be stronger than the Grand Sage-Though that's highly doubtful."

Doubtful? Hell, now I definitely want to be the strongest! If this Grand Sage person was the strongest, then I would surpass her, same as I did all the others in the games I played. Although he also stated they don't know what my ranking is in this world, which already interests me on its own.

I had no idea this world had a ranking system like that. It reminds me of a leaderboard in the MMOs that showed who the top player was.

"Well, I'll stop pestering you about your love life," he chuckled as we approached the door to Silvia's room. "Before we enter, I must ask of you one thing." He looked me in the eyes, the atmosphere grew serious all of a sudden. "My daughter has a gift, one that no one else has. We've kept it a secret from everyone, only the Queen and I know about it."

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked. "If you've kept it a secret from everyone, including your royal guards, why tell me?" The King just laughed.

"Because, Kichirou, you are a trustworthy person, despite what you think of yourself. We know you wont tell anyone, and if you do." His eyes grew serious once more and his tone went cold. "We will have you hunted and killed."

Gulp!

"Understood." I replied nervously. "So, what's the skill?"

"She can see into the future of whoever she touches."

What? That sounds so broken! But… "Let me guess, it has a backfire?"

"Indeed. The farther into the future she tries to see, the more mana it uses. If she peers to far in, her mana will be dropped down to zero, and she will die."

"Wait, I don't understand. It's a skill that uses mana, so how does draining her mana to zero kill her? Wouldn't it just stop the skill from being able to be used?" That's how it works not just in video games, but this world as well. I, myself, don't have Mana, but I have SP. Using magic drains my SP bar, and the more SP I loose, the more tired I get and the less powerful my spells become.

"No. This skill puts a strain on her mind. If it drains her mana to zero, then she has no magic protecting her mind from the back lash of the skill, and she will die."

Damn…that's scary. "Wait, is that why you brought me to her?"

"Indeed. She wants to peer into your future." As he finished, he opened the door.

Silvia was sitting on her bed, reading a book when the door opened, and she saw me.

"Kichi!" She slammed the book closed and shot up straight. She started to straighten her hair and clothes as well with her hands. "I-I wasn't expecting you." She looked over at her father. I don't know why, but she looked pretty mad at him.

"Sorry, your father wasn't expecting me either, I kinda just showed up."

"Oh, I see." She muttered before she looked at me with a serious face. "I'm assuming my father informed you, right?"

"He did."

"So…will you let me do it?"

"Sure, I don't see why not." I replied as I walked over and sat down on her bed. "Who wouldn't want to know their future."

"So, he didn't explain it right then." She frowned at her father, who just laughed pathetically.

"What didn't he explain right?"

"I can see into the future, yes, but its not like you're thinking. It's more like I see bits and pieces of things that are going to happen to you, although it keeps out the key elements."

"I…don't understand." I thought she could see the future, if she couldn't see key elements, what was she seeing?

"For example, lets say you get robbed one night. I'll know that you are going to be robbed, but I wont see who robbed you, when they robbed you, or the scenario that led up to you getting robbed, such as if it was a random chance encounter, or if it was because you made someone mad and they targeted you.

"I can tell you what I will see happen to you, but I wont be able to tell you why it happened, how it happened, or when it happens."

"Oh, I guess that makes sense, and its also kind of scary, yeah?"

"How do you mean?" She titled her head.

"Well, if you can see what's going to happen to people, that also means you can see if they will die, yes? Or if someone close to them dies. If you tell them about that, that's all they think of, their death or the death of a loved one. You wont be able to tell them when it will happen or how they can stop it-if it's a murder.

"Wouldn't that weigh heavy on you?" That has to be a painful thing to bear, to know that someone will die or someone they know will die, but you can't do anything about it. You can't even give them advice on how they can stop it from happening. It makes you feel useless, makes you hate yourself for having the knowledge but not the intuition.

She blinked softly at me and smiled sadly. "Yes, it can be scary. Especially before I even do it. Like I'm scared right now. What if I see something bad, like you dying or one of your friends dying? I know that would break you, and the fact that I cant stop thinking about it…" She teared up.

"It makes me begin to wonder if my thinking of it non-stop may affect the future itself. I still don't fully understand this power, none of us do. So, what if I can actually alter the course of someone's future by thinking abo-OW!" I flicked her forehead.
