After school, Dakota was waiting for me again in his pickup truck. "Dad might be tempted to sell my car if I don't use it," I teased as I slid into his car. I reached over and gave him a quick kiss.
One corner of his lips curled into a smile as he pulled out of the parking lot of the school. "Hey, if you want to stop riding with me, just say the word."
I shook my head, smiling. "Not a chance. You can't get rid of me that easily."
Dakota wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Good. I'm counting on it."
"Hey, do you have any idea where Mr. Wilson lives, by the way?" I asked, turning my attention to the road. "It'd be terrible if we're supposed to stake him out and we don't know where he lives."
Dakota smirked. "Yeah, I asked around before we left school." He made a righthand turn onto my street.
I laughed. "I just hope we don't get arrested for stalking tonight.
Dakota chuckled. "Yeah, how would we explain that one to Mr. Wilson?"
