The day passed quickly and soon the night was upon us. "Michelle! Where are you?" I texted, outside of Raina's Uncle Carl's house.
"Mom won't let me go!" she texted back.
I scoffed. "Just walk out!"
There was a pause and then Michelle texted. "Jessica, I'm starting to feel weird."
"Then go out the window if you have to!"
"Jess.... I need you now!" Michelle texted.
I threw down my phone and took off running, not bothering with the car, letting the tremors shimmer down my spine and throughout my limbs as the red haze with black edges overtook my vision. I leapt into the air, landed on all four paws, and dug into the lichen, headed toward Michelle's house as quickly as I could, hoping I got there in time.
I poured on the speed, running faster than I had ever run before. Michelle would never forgive herself if she hurt anyone, let alone massacre her family.
