Aya's POV
We ran through the forest at breakneck speed, the wind flying through our fur, on and off for three days. On the second day, the rest of the southwest pack caught up and our numbers increased greatly as many had been found alive. A lot of them were women and children, the survivors of war. I thanked the Gods and cried in happiness to see them.
For the last mile though, we were all walking in our human forms, since we were closer to the human compound. Both Lok and Huang were off to my left. Huang was still upset that I had stopped his fight with Lok since it was alpha against alpha, after all. Only one should be on top and he wanted to prove it was him. This I knew from reading his thoughts.
