Aya's POV
( In the present year 2020 )
" To understand, you must know a bit of the evolution of my kind. Those that came before us, were at war with the humans that had just emerged from the forests. Some 10, 000 or more years ago.
They were of all different sizes, though none looked human. Their eyes were a constant blood red, except for the old ones. Their eyes were a deep blood red, almost black. Quills that froze their victims, ran along legs, arms, and their backs. Long Quills sprouted from their heads. Huge eyes, barely there noses, but large mouths. Their fangs were very long and they couldn't retract them.
They were the first of our kind. True vampire demons. I shudder when I say that. The vampire demons were vicious.
Due to showing off their powers in order to dominate their new 'human' food source, they became the hunted.
There was in-fighting as well. Some came to love their humans, and some took the females by force. Over time, some human women gave birth to a new generation of vampire. My Generation.
We look human just as you do, though we fight the demon side within us, to 'blend in.'
Contrary to popular belief,the does weaken our powers, but we can walk by daylight hours. I only fought my demon when I was first born because my parents kept me on a 'animal blood,' only diet, to help weaken the vampire demon well enough that it could not take over my mind, and body.
They found out about the animal blood diet by accident. Devastation from the wars left very few alive. Our island, later called Japan, only had a smattering of humans to feed from. From where we lived in the mountains, it was thought better to just stay near our home considering my mother's pregnancy. So they went onto the diet of animal blood and found that it worked to keep those demons under control. It can be very dangerous for everyone around us, if we lose control. Very few, if any, survive.
I am sorry for rambling, I should scratch that out... I am not good at giving details like this, in writing. Should I continue?"
