Thud!
"Nghh!" I groaned. What a way to start off the day. I fell off my "bed" again! This hammock is comfortable but one day it might snap my neck... Yeah I should get that stuff fixed. No wait...
Everything came rushing back to me again at the sight of the not so familiar bedroom. Ah right... I'm inside "Reverie"
As an NPC that would get trampled on by a bunch of bandits. Well this is just great.
Going off to the garden. The vegetables were still unripe but some purple eggplants were good enough to eat. I nabbed them and went inside the kitchen. Eager to start off the morning with a breakfast. While preparing to cook my stuff. I started thinking.
With each passing day. And with each pain, tiredness or mental fatigue that I experience, it has cemented to me that I really am In the game world. I did my best. Disbelieveing what was real and holding onto that faint hope of everything being an absurd nightmare. But sometimes life hits you hard like a truck.
And you just have to suck it up and stop b1tching about certain stuff.
Fwom! I started as simple fire in the kitchen. Above the stove was another opening that was the second chimney of this lodge. Yeah... The designer of this house was somewhat strange but that's not the point.
Every passing day... My death comes closer.
In two months minimum. The bandits would ransack this village. And I am in no way strong enough to kill them all off or even defend myself. I'm a support. And I am not Ray. And not so fun fact. This whole bandit fiasco is part of Ray's super sad backstory.
A main character isn't complete without a tragic backstory. Your mother has to be eaten by large naked giants or your parents should've sealed a demon inside you which caused the village to shun you.
That's the usual main character format. Sadly Ray falls into that.
It's also strange that only him and his mother is present in this village... The father...
Probably went out to get milk or was secretly some legendary swordsman etc etc that was killed by his enemies.
If only ray was strong enough then he could single handedly massacre the eighteen generations of those stupid bandits. Wait... I could... I could help Ray level up...
Bandits... Bandits... Bandits... Bandits...
Wait... No...
No way...
Sh1t...
Realization washed over me. I nearly even crushed the eggplants I was going to boil on the stove!
Two months... A whole village wiped out easily. They're not your simple bandits! Numbers can do a lot of things. Even if Cain Village was full of inexperienced fighters some might have still run away and survived. There's hundreds of us here. Some would surely be able to slip away.
But the devs themselves heavily implicated that only Ray would survive. And due to my nagging, they managed to slip slightly.
"Ugh! Just shut up will you! Bandits would come from the Twin Forests and kill all the villagers except Ray understood?" Ah I can still see one of the dev's furious faces.
To come from the Twin Forests... This is more troublesome than I thought.
Unfortunately I can't investigate this matter. Information is power but I have no means of getting it right now... Yes there's still two months. What I need to do now is get stronger. Get stronger and leave this village.
I might have lived in here for six years. But at the same time that wasn't me. My emotions about this place is mixed... Part of me wants to stay but my logic dictates to choose safety.
Let's compile a list of what I need to do to get stronger...
Let's see... A system... All living beings, intelligent or not are connected to the one great system. Others call system lady's voice as the voice of the gods but I personally know that's just some fancy way of calling something that many couldn't truly understand.
We have a system... And good thing I know how it works...

Oh? My healing ability went up by one level... Neat.
The system was strange... At lvl 1, your other stats are inconsistent with the variable attributes. Tenacity increases body toughness and it increases the maximum HP too... Spirit does the same for the mana pool as well.

And getting a class... A tier one (I) class does not give an increase to the base stats no matter how rare it was. It only gives growth corrections unlike a tier two (II) class who gives a higher growth correction for the variable attributes and alters your base stats as well.
To put it simply... Lvl 1 was a special lvl where the system has not set your base stats into stone yet. And there are certain skills that could only be obtained at this state.
Theoretically... You could be lvl 1 but your stats could reach the hundreds if you keep doing exercises or meditation for long amounts of time. And once you reach lvl 2, the variable attributes you have attained would be your base stats.
There was once a madman... Someone I ran into before I got stupidly pulled into this game.
A madman who was lvl 1. He stayed like that for months and after a while, without us other beta testers knowing. He was already a walking disaster. A lvl 1 with a tier 1 common class. But his base stats were in the hundreds. As if he had already advanced his class to tier 2.
When he reached tier 2. Everyone got demolished by him. Me included.
Let's see... Class tiers growth...
A tier one (I) class has a growth correction of .10 increase per level to class affiliated attributes depending on the base stat. If your base Str was 20 then with a tier one (I) class, it would become 22 within the next level up.
Tier two (II) classes recalculates the base stats, pushing it higher and offers a .15 growth correction to class related attributes.
Tier threes (III) have .175 growth correction and higher base.
Tier four (IV).... No one really got to that part. The most addicted to leveling among us had just barely reached tier three.
There's also the class rarity... It does not edit the base stats but it gives bonus overall growth correction. (Common) classes give no bonus growth correction. (Uncommon) has a .05 bonus. (Rare) has .10 bonus. (Legendary) and (Mythical), those last two class rarity stages. Their given bonus was still unheard of.
So by looking at my class rarity and class tier...
I have a .15 growth correction for the Spirit and MI attributes. My supporter class is affiliated with those two attributes after all.
And a pitiful .05 growth correction for my physical stats. With my base attributes being at the single digits with exception of my magic related ones. Leveling up is not ideal... It would waste too much of my potential.
I would love to mimic that madman and grind my physical attributes to the hundreds but hello hello! We're all gonna die in 2 months! Possibly earlier!
And that mad lad spent lots and lots of time grinding his character attributes. My time isn't enough to match his.
Two months huh... I need to grind... Reverie urges players to grind. And even if I'm just an NPC now I still have the heart of a player! And of a violent person!
Support class? I'll take this life and pursue the unorthodox Dao!
I could already Imagine a scenario play in my head... And it's enough to make me smile... If it's like this then heheheheheh...

Inside a barren desert. The sand lost it's usual brightness due to the absence of the sun. Hundreds of men. Clad in full heavy armor encircled one lone man wearing a set of loose white robes...
"You're just a filthy support. There's no way you can win against all of us!" The men hollered. Taking a step forwards coupled by the clicking and clanking of their plate mails.
Undaunted, the man revealed an amused smile. A smile able to send terror deep in the hearts of the iron clad men. Out of nervousness, they all shouted in unison. "You are surrounded!"
But the man was still unfazed with all the odds against him. Raising an eyebrow, his gaze scanned the opposition. "All I am surrounded by is fear."
"And dead men." The man calmly said. Hefted his crystal staff up, basking in the moon's radiance, the staff glowed. And the man disappeared.
Screams riddled the desert night sky. All who went against the robed person had been torn asunder. Their bodies severed, smashed or pierced by a crystal staff.

I seemed to be forgetting something here... I can't help it... My badass vision is just too badass!
And then a burning scent assaulted my nose. I looked down. I was supposed to fry the eggs along with the boiled eggplants but I was too distracted.
"MY EGGS!"
