Chapter 2 - In that tiny one-roomed apartment.

After taking Draco to school the next day, Roxanne got home and wanted to continue with the book she was writing. She remembered that she hadn't even finished the intro. That part required that she should talk much about her relationship with that person. The thought of it hadn't even excited her in a bit. She wanted to write this book, but she couldn't write it without that person. 5th May, 2002. That year was deeply forbidden in her heart. That was the day she met him for the very first time.

She shut her eyes, she was getting depressed again. She had passed through a lot of things when she was still pregnant with Draco. Her aunt and uncle found out that she was pregnant and chased her out of the house. On that day, her aunt had said that she was possessed by an evil spirit. For someone who had just been thrown out of the house, as at that time, her face was beaming with smiles. She loved the being growing inside of her and she wanted to keep it safe till the end of time. Her aunt had mistaken the gentle smile on her face for a mischievous smile. She shuddered and quickly screamed that she had gone nuts. That she was possessed, and that was how she ended up in an asylum when her pregnancy was just a month old. She cried and screamed that she wasn't crazy, but that was exactly what every mad person there was screaming too.

She gave up and decided to comply with their treatment so that they would get her out of there as soon as possible. She was treated with utmost care because she was pregnant. After staying in the asylum for two months, they finally let her go after a series of check ups from the doctor. Her aunt had tried to push her back in there but, the doctors refused to let a very much sane person stay in the asylum. That place could even make someone insane!

When her aunt saw that her antics weren't going to work. She gave up. She looked at Roxanne who was hiding behind the doctor and said in her mind. She's just nineteen and pregnant, she doesn't have any job or support. She's even as good as dead right now.

Poor Roxie was left to fend for himself. She left the psychiatric hospital and walked to the streets. She knew that she needed to find a job, but no one was willing to take her in because of her pregnancy. She later found a job as a waitress. In order to do the work she was told to hide her pregnancy well, therefore, she normally wore a very big sweater on her work T-shirt. She worked both day and night so that her pay would be increased. She wanted to provide everything for her baby.

When she was seven months pregnant, she had just finished her night shift around 1:00 am. She only had six hours to sleep before she began her morning shift. After locking up the restaurant.

She started going to the staff quarters the owners gave her, before she could reach there, she had fallen. When she noticed she had lost balance, she tried so hard to protect the baby, instead of falling with her belly she fell with her side. The sound of the crash attracted the attention of the owners and some workers who were still awake.

She was quickly rushed to the hospital, the doctor told her to stop over exerting herself. She was bedridden for two weeks before she returned to work. Out of fear the owner refused to let her work the double shift. She was only allowed to work in the morning. Her pay was reduced.

During her stay in the restaurant, she had encountered her cousin. She was full of glee when she saw her. Oblivious of the fact that she was with a guy, who was probably a suitor. She screamed her cousin's name and ran towards her. Her cousin only glanced at her and said.

"We are not taking orders yet."

And with that, she focused back on her conversation with the guy.

She only went back and told her fellow workers that the lady in table three was her cousin.

Even after the embarrassment from her cousin, she did not take it to heart. She tried to see reasons why she had done so. At the end of the day she didn't blame anybody but herself.

After her cousin left, she still left her a tip. She didn't know if she did it genuinely, or if she did it to look good in front of her suitor. Either way she was still grateful.

She delivered to a baby boy. She was just like a regular married woman that time, because everything the baby needed was provided. The owner of the restaurant had cleared the hospital bill for her. Then from her savings, she found a small apartment to live in with her child. In that tiny one-roomed apartment, she nursed her son. In that tiny one-roomed apartment she watched him become a toddler. In that tiny one-roomed apartment he took his first step. In that tiny one-roomed apartment he grew his first tooth. In that tiny one-roomed apartment he said his first word, 'mama', that day, was one of the best days in her life.

It was only after this that she went out to look for another job, but instead she applied for a scholarship that aided part-time schooling. She had just finished high-school when she got pregnant. The course she applied for was a three year course. So she schooled part timely together with the small creature that was always in her arms, when she was twenty three, she got herself a certificate.

That was when she started sending her application in bigger organizations. She wanted to be a cook.

She snapped out of her reverie when her phone rang.

She answered the phone immediately with a 'hello.'

"Am I speaking with miss Roxanne Denver?"

"Oh yes ma'am."

"Our company the Sky Food Towers has requested for an interview, we're interested in your application, we want you to come for the interview by 10:00 am tomorrow."

"Alright thank you Ma."

Du.. Du.. Du.. The call ended. Roxie looked at her phone and squeaked with happiness. She couldn't wait to share the news with Draco.
