"D- did you just cuss?" Elvis pointed out, refusing to believe he had actually heard it.
"All this is crazy!" She commented, "What does it take to put on clothes on a grown man–dragon whatever?"
"You did cuss!" Elvis pointed out, not listening to her sort of diversion.
"Elvis, I think you need to do as she says, something doesn't feel right." Skun hit Elvis, trying to appeal to his reason. "My scales are acting up, and that spells danger." He whispered.
"Scales?!" He hissed back at Skun, "You are a human for crying out loud, how could you possibly possess scales?"
"If you look closely, you would–" Skun had initially tried to explain the weird workings of his body but then he instinctively felt Mae get up from behind him.
"Watch out!" Elvis pulled Skun down, they had barely missed a kick from Mae.
Her leg was still suspended in an air kick, before she slowly brought it back down, her face devoid of any emotions except one–anger.
"Why doesn't anyone listen to reason the nice way?!" She raged, her eyes still closed nonetheless but that didn't stop her from aiming right at them.
"Take it easy, Mae." Elvis walked towards her cautiously.
No longer ready to wait for any more excuse, she aimed another kick at where she had heard the footsteps coming from.
It was at this moment Elvis counted himself fortunate to possess the flair for magical arts. In the midst of his fear, he temporarily froze her leg before it made a hard contact with his face.
Struggling to get free, Mae tried moving her legs, fortunately for her, the ice felt thin around her knees, using that to her advantage; the shattering of the ice could be heard, followed by a thud.
"Ooof!" Skun grimaced as he watched Elvis make a hard contact with the wall.
Running towards Elvis, Skun helped him up, he was in a coughing mess, holding onto his side where she had kicked him in.
The pain felt like stepping on thousands of glass but instead he could feel all these could be traced to his ribcage being damaged.
"Are you alright?" Skun asked the obvious.
"I am perfectly fine." Elvis sarcastically replied with the roll of his eyes, his hand on his side, he slowly eased his pain by healing the damage caused. But this took a toll on him; with his strength reducing by the passing second.
Snapping his fingers, he conjured up a fitting cloth for Skun. "I hope this would appease her at the very least."
Not bothering to check out his appearance, he became weary of the approaching figure of Mae. For one thing he definitely didn't want to hurt her, therefore he couldn't use his fire blast at her.
'What's gotten into her? How can she suddenly turn inhumanely strong?' Elvis watched with half opened eyelids.
"Mae, take things nice, slow and easy." Skun tried a different approach. "I'm fully clothed, aren't I?" He turned to Elvis to voice out his options.
"Yes, yes he's right. If we are lying you could beat us to a pulp." Elvis made an extreme promise.
"Speak for yourself Mr!" Skun gasped, his words not meaning to deceive.
Watching her first clenched at the difference in both answers. This didn't escape the watchful eyes of Elvis who gulped in response.
Hitting Skun, he tried giving eye signals as to why he shouldn't try to escalate the situation with his ambiguous statements.
"What I mean to say was, I wouldn't like to be beaten alongside him, he should bear all the brawls not me, I am still getting used to this body–which is still as smooth as a baby's butt." Skun laughed at his own dry humor.
"I am indeed wearing clothes." He clarified.
Suddenly, Mae let go of her clenched fists, falling to the ground exhausted.
–––––––––––
Opening her eyes, she shut it back down due to the reflection of the torches, before gradually adjusting to it, she squinted her eyes before slowly opening them this time.
"What happened?" She asked, no recollection of what had transpired.
Skun looked at Elvis who was still in the process of healing himself, his hand still on his side but he managed to get up to meet Mae.
"Are you alright?" He put aside his pain, his eyes searching for any sign of it.
"You... what happened to you?" Her eyes trailed to where his hand glowed while holding his side.
"It's nothing." He lied.
"You seriously beat him up!" Skun laughed in mischief before shutting up because of the glare shot his way by Elvis.
"I did that?" Her eyes widened twice it's size.
She forced herself to sit up, the surroundings felt like it was spinning.
"Ugh!" She held her head while groaning.
"It's nothing Mae." Elvis smiled, "But we need to know what had made you suddenly turn out that way."
"Ooo! Skun you are putting on some clothes now." She realised his black shirt which was cut in a v-shape collar, this was held with a string interwoven as a form of design.
"Yes, don't you love this look?" He grinned, "I look super awesome."
'Super idiot is what I'd say.' Elvis rolled his eyes in disgust. Getting up, he used the wall as a support.
Following suit, Mae got up to assist Elvis. "I deeply apologize for unintentionally hurting you, but you need to go rest."
"Hey!" Skun exclaimed, feeling left out from their interactions.
He had gotten used to being a third wheel, but now that he was a human he had the sudden urge for more attention.
When Elvis and Mae's attention was drawn towards him, he had forgotten the real reason for calling them at the first instance.
Understanding their attention was no longer needed, Mae suggested he gets back to his tower to recuperate.
"There must be something in your tower that could accelerate your healing." Mae said determined.
"Sure there is." He coughed.
"We are taking the fast route, right?" Mae wiggled her brows at Elvis who caught on to what she implied.
"Ofcourse." He managed to chuckle.
"Hello! What am I meant to do? Stay here?" Skun interjected, waving his hands above his head to get their attention once again.
"Would you do the honours?" Mae said to Elvis with a smirk.
