Chapter 27 - Tragedy....

Without noticing where the globe had stopped she walked a little further ahead towards the historic section of the library. She was stunned to see so many ancient books, which hailed from several centuries before. She gasped in shock at the collection as she held a book in her hands, looking at it in surprise. "Wow! This is not just a library it is also a museum." She placed back the book and happily climbed the stairs situated at the extreme end of the shelf. Her eyes had caught attention of a bright red colour gigantic book, which was placed at the top most shelf.

She climbed the long and comfortable wooden stairs smiling looking at the bright colour striking book. "I wonder what this is about. It looks like it has a royal velvet cover and is so well maintained and bright." She looked happily at the brightest looking book cover. She climbed a little further upwards, much above the ground level. She was just about to reach the top most step and had merely touched the book, when suddenly she was jerked off from the ladder instantly.

The girl lost her balance and fell down from a great height.

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" She let out a loud shriek as she could feel her heart sinking as if she was dying, while falling down. The girl closed her eyes in fear as she knew she would end up in a hospital bed with multiple fractures or even dead. The girl had tightly shut her eyes ready to fall, but suddenly she fell on something very strong and hard, but it did not hurt her at all. She was instantly clutched inside something very hard and secure and she finally opened her eyes as a tear dropped down from her eyes in extreme fear.

Just before her eyes she saw Evlin's face that had instantly caught the girl in his arms rushing towards her at the nick of time. He had then instantly hugged her in his arms, taking deep breaths in relief. He had just entered the library and was looking for the girl as he spotted her climbing the ladder. Before he could reach her he saw the girl loosing her balance from a great height. He had never sprinted faster than this in his entire life, and had successfully managed to catch hold of the girl before she hits the ground.

The boy was trying to calm down by deep breaths as he had tightly clutched the girl in his arms, not willing to leave her. The girl too was now crying hysterically as she snuggled close to his chest, holding his shirt tightly with her hands. The boy kissed her head lovingly again and again, clutching her like a baby close to his chest. The girl cried out even more stridently for a few more seconds and then calmed down a bit feeling the boy's secure and strong arms.

"It is ok now. You are fine." He smiled a bit feeling extremely relaxed now. He then walked away from that area of the library and moved towards the area where several couches were being placed, near the fireplace. He quickly made the girl lie down on a couch and walked towards the fireplace turning it on. The girl was still shaking exceedingly at the recent series of events and had turned ice cold out of horror. He quickly picked up a soup bowl from the food counter and poured some piping hot fresh vegetable soup in it from the laid down buffet. He quickly rushed to the girl and sat beside her and looked at her petrified face with much adoration. The girl's face was stained with tears and she was blankly looking at him like a robot, lying down lifelessly.
