Chapter 12 - Dragon Age Part 11 The Hawke Family

Waking up, things were already started. Witherfang was the last to move out with a few of the Chasind. The ones that did not mind fighting. They were heading to deal with Zathrian. The Keeper of a Dalish group. The ones responsible for the werewolves in the first place. Amara took a few Dalish Elves to speak with the Dalish beforehand. To try and broker peace. If not, they were to cut them down if they attacked Witherfang.

Thrasher was on route to help the Hawke family. The amount of Darkspawn above normal made things difficult to judge. So, the best option was to head ahead of time. Such as now.

"We have to move it Garett!" An older woman yelled. It was the mother of the Hawke children. "Move Bethany! Stop attacking!" She yelled at her daughter. The young mage couldn't help attacking. Pushing a wave of magic to slow the Darkspawn down further.

"Raaah!" An Ogre roared charging forward. Luckily it was not modified. Neither were the other Darkspawn that did pursuit. Just a lot of them. "Urrk!" An arrow to the throat caused it to shut up. If Thrasher was there, he would have noticed the arrow that was fired. It was specially made.

*Whistle!* The air let loose a sound as a large object sailed through the air. A few boulders were chucked in the air. Attempting to cut them off. It missed but, cut Bethany of from the rest for a moment.

The Ogre made it to her in record time. Insane sped that set it apart from it's brethren even further.

"Easy there. I got you Bethany." Thrasher grabbed her waist striking out. The Blade of Olympus cutting right through the beast. "How many times have I told you not to freeze." With a wave of the sword, golden light buffed against the Darkspawn. Some losing limbs, others dying outright. A few stragglers pushed on.

"Thrash!" Bethany wrapped her arms around him crying. "We thought you died!"

"Haaa!" Someone let out a battle cry. A blur of two warriors turned around cutting the Darkspawn down. Running would not work for them right now. They were to tired.

"Maker's breath!" Garett ran over. His staff gripped in his hand looking out for any other problems. Seeing his siblings take care of everything, he was grateful for the respite that Thrasher brought. "Still as close as ever to death when you are around."

"Aye, maybe." Thrasher Shrugged. Bethany still hanging from him. "Man you all have been through hell. But where were you headed to in such a rush?"

"The area is in turmoil. The darkspawn are overrunning the area. We fled the Battle of Ostagar after the line brook where we were. Lothering.. was still standing when the order was given. We didn't know that Howe would pull that stunt." Another Hawke walked over. Not the brother Carver who was guarding his mother but another mc option. Marian. The mother had two sets of twins this time. Marian said. She moved over placing her bow across her back. She moved to hug Thrasher. "It is good to see you still breathe. I thought you dead after the swarm set in. Hope my arrows helped you a little."

"They did. Glad you improved on the longshot. Sniping, goes a long way for fights." Thrasher returned the one armed hug. Garett settled for a handshake. Both he and Bethany had stayed closer to Lothering during the fighting. While Marian and Carver enlisted in King Cailan's army. "Lot of running for you two. Good thing you trained so much running back and forth to Lothering."

"Yeah, but we ran into trouble there as well." Carver said. Looking at Thrasher with begrudging respect. "I heard you have cause all sorts of trouble."

"Ease off Carver. He did just help us." Bethany finally released Thrasher. "Be nice for once."

"I know, it is just.. things suck." He did give Thrasher a handshake however. "Glad you are alive."

"Sorry to break up the reunion, but we should move." A voice called. A red head woman with a strong face said. Aveline broke them up. Her face worried for her husband. She carried him on her shoulder with out a complaint. "Just hang in there Wesley."

"Easy dear. It is almost to late for me." Wesley droned out.

"Yeah, it is. Good thing I am here. You look like shit." Thrasher reached over grabbing the man's face. "Damn shame, you are such a great Templar. But that must end. Told you to stop taking the Lyrium. It makes you weaker idiot."

"I know. I know. But I had to." Wesley said tired. A small smile flashing through the pain. Eyes already gone but he could tell who it was before him." The Maker has a sick sense of humor letting a male slut like you live." He spoke the way only a good friend would. "Kuff.. kuff.. Help my wife escape. A request from an old friend."

"Hush dear. Conserve your strength." Aveline turned to Thrasher. "You know my husband, but you look to use magic freely." A look of fear flashing through her eyes. Wesley told her of a fighter who used magic every now and then. Almost none of the stories good.

"Yeah... I do a lot of things." Thrasher removed a part of his armor. Only the glove. His hand started to glow as he grabbed Wesley by the throat. "Man that Darkspawn got you deep. A little pick me up. To help of course. Bare with it."

"Ahhhhhh!" Wesley screamed as the taint was forced out of him. "Just let me die! Damn you! Always the rough route with you!" He bit down hard. Barely feeling Aveline grip his arm.

"Man up, as the old saying goes. Stop being a bitch." Thrasher couldnt help smirking. "Pain means you are alive. This is what you get from dropping your guard and taking lyrium and.."

"Is this helping!" Aveline yelled at Thrasher. He stared daggers at the woman getting ready to stop.

"So I should just stop and let him die. Good idea." Thrasher teased.

"She doesn't know what she is saying!" Bethany covered Aveline's mouth. Garrett helping her. Both aware that Thrasher had a sadistic streak that bordered on inhuman at times. "Go ahead and continue."

"Ok doke." The smile on Thrasher's face was worse than any darkspawn. He was enjoying the man's pain. "Where were we?"

"Ahhhhhhh!" Wesley started screaming again. The lyrium that seeped into his body was devoured by the D.G. cells and acted as a catalyst for new spores. Using the Space Stone, it was all transfered away to a different area to ferment. "Shit! Never again! Screw the Templars!"

"That is the spirit." Thrasher pulled away leaving the man restored. "It will take a bit for you to collect yourself."

"Ha.. ha.. ha.." Wesley just laid on the ground. The Hawke siblings let Aveline go. He grabbed her hand and squeezed hard. "Ready to start a new life?" The lopsided grin was something to see.

"Yes. You silly man." Aveline was just happy he was alive.

"Oh. Hurry to the next place. Kirkwall awaits." Thrasher could feel the Will of the World pushing. Unless he stayed with them, it would pull them into trouble outright. "Some gold for you.. what is it?"

"We could come with you." Bethany said point-blank. "Fighting here, in our home, in Ferelden."

"But I am going to be doing a lot of bad sketchy stuff. And a lot of fighting, killing and good old.."

"Fucking." Carver said flatly. "He has said it before. Not marriage material sister. And defintely an Apostate unchained."

"So is Bethany and myself!" Garrett said. He pointed his staff at Carver. "The constant jealousy is getting old. Marian has made herself into a respectful fighter. Why can't you?"

"DO not start fighting. We have to go." Leandra cut in. She rather get away from the area or at least be safe. "Is that a dragon?!" Her hands covered her mouth in shock. "A very large... dragon."

"I am staying." Marian said. Ignoring the bleeding from her mother with a deep glare. As well as her twin Garett. "You will have my bow, or would you have me go elsewhere?" Thrasher nodded.

System: Marian Hawke is an anomaly. The World has recovered enough strength to allow her to exist with out issue. However, if she travels without a User, death will find her somehow. Carver Hawke can live if she goes.

"Mass Heal, Restore All." Thrasher used a level 9 slot combining spells. The golden light gave them a warm feeling taking care of any issues. "That should make it easier. And.. here.." Thrasher gave each of the siblings and Wesley a sack of gold. "You will need this. Keep it safe."

"Thanks." Garret nodded. In his bag was a letter to help with things. He could tell Bethany had something in her as well. But she was to angry to care. "We will see you again yes?"

"Of course. I will make sure I bring Marian with me to make sure you all know. And if things settle here a little more, I will have bring you all back for a visit." Thrasher said. Marian walked over whispered into her sisters ear. Which brought a smile to her face. 'Hmm, that will be something to see.

"Go ahead and have fun." Bethany said. They walked off to speak with Flemeth. 'I will see you sooner than you think.' In her hands was a Pull. Marian received the moment she joined as a Follower to Thrasher. She gave it to her sister to help. Especially since she was told by the Operator Norad that she would be in a lot of danger as a mage. So a way for her to access the shop and pass as a warrior would help greatly. 'Norad, I will do these Quests. I will not be a burden or let my mother bury me in her fears.'

.

Thrasher & Marian-

.

So.. you are quite something." Marian teased. Seeing Flemeth take off with her family was a sight. But the info she had in her head was something else. "All this time, you were a User."

"I was sleeping technically when we met.'"Thrasher shrugged. "You knew only a part of me. Just a Shard of me. Is that a problem?" Marian shook her head not caring any way. Grateful for the freedom and worry from her family was a large weight off her shoulders. "Ready to become even more than what you are now?"

"You bet I am. What do you have for me?" Marian's eyes lit up as Thrasher passed her 10x Common Pulls. The energy inside was more than enough to allow her to break the confines of things. Her soul would be to powerful to dismiss. She could still die the old fashion way though. "Ahhh so warm."

Thrasher then used his Power as a Pillar Shaper. Turning her into a Support Pillar. Whenever the World would reset, she would exist again. An additional child now. Which would make her more important. Also, she would remember having been with a User before.

System: Marian Hawke is now a Follower/Companion. Can move without the Will of the World taking any harmful notice. Marian carries unique quests that others can take for the next two years. User has turned her into a Support Pillar. Strengthening the World further.

"Oh yeah.. that is really good." Marian jumped bursting with energy. "So my User, what are we going to do now?"

"Well, I need some one to lead the forces near Lothering. Keeping that Darkspawn Horde from taking it out. It is gritty dangerous work. Think you can handle it while I do a few other things?" She nodded. A little disappointed she would not be where the action was with him. "None of that now, I will come grab you later. I promise."

"You better." Hand on her hip she wanted to know how she was to do that exactly. "I am gonna get some troops, yes?" Thrasher grabbed her and used the Space Stone. "Hold on.." She was not able to brace herself in time.

*Bwoop!* The two teleported to Lothering. A group of Arrow boyz there waiting. A few more Ork humans in eavy armor to the other side. Made from the Darkspawn and forces that died at the battle of Ostagar. More were still festering in the Moss.

"Oh.. this is nice." Seeing the many male and female Ork humans ready and popping to attention the moment she arrived was a good feeling. Marian was already at the rank of a Nob with her soul being so strong. With the added power as a Companion/Follower and a Pillar, she was basically a Warboss. "I will whip them into great shape."

"I know you will. Untill later." Thrasher teleported away. Heading to a spot to do a few more Pulls and set up another outpost.
