Chirp! Chirp!
The wind was cold and the sun started to rise from the east. The birds woke up and tried to announce that a new day had arrived.
Aaric woke up by the sound of the birds. The room was dark and cold. Slight light was coming from the window. Aaric understood that it wasn't morning yet.
Though it was cold, Aaric felt warm as he was holding a human flesh. He looked at the woman in his arms who was sleeping soundly. His heart suddenly filled with warmth and an emotion he couldn't describe.
Last night when he came inside after hanging up the call, he found her frowning and sobbing. He understood that she might be having a nightmare. He bent slightly to coax her but he never expected a sudden hug from his wife. Neither he could move himself away from her nor he had the heart to wake her up. After thinking carefully he decided to lay down beside her.
To avoid frightening her early in the morning, he decided to leave the bed before she woke up. He gently flipped her over on the other side of the bed, she frowned a little bit when she felt the cold bed sheet instead of his warmth. He gently stroked her hair, then stood up from the bed, before placing a pillow around her hands. She hugged the pillow tightly like a teddy. He chuckled seeing her childish behaviour. His heart melted at this sight. He placed a kiss on her forehead, before entering the washroom to freshen-up.
After thirty minutes, he came out of the washroom. He looked at his sleeping beauty who was sleeping soundly on the bed, before heading towards his study room. He flipped through some of the documents, signed on some of them and then for the rest of the time he kept on working on his computer.
At nine in the morning, when sunlight peeped inside the room from the window, it made the dark room lightened. Sasha stirred a bit in bed, before opening her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and glanced at the couch opposite to the bed where Aaric sleeps every night.
'He might be working in his study room.' She thought before rubbing her head in a sleepy manner. She still felt a little bit sleepy. But it was already nine in the morning, how long does she want to sleep now? She placed her legs down to wear her slippers before entering into the washroom to get fresh.
After half an hour, she came out of the washroom freshly bathed, wearing a bathrobe. Her long hair was dumped wet and the fragrance of the shampoo spread across the room. She stood in front of her dressing table to dry her hair with a towel in her hand. Later she applied her body lotion, then changed into a cotton dress. She walked downstairs, to prepare a mug of coffee for both of them.
In less than fifteen minutes she ran upstairs, holding a mug in each of her hands. She was about to knock on the door, but suddenly she stopped when she saw the room was slightly opened. She pushed the door to open it, with her legs, and frowned when she entered the room.
Just as she walked inside, she looked around but Aaric was nowhere to be found. She frowned, then turned around. Suddenly, she felt a cool breeze attack her. Subconsciously, she shivered a little and turned. She noticed that there was a gap in the French windows leading to the balcony. She was puzzled and quickly made her way there. To her surprise, she saw Aaric standing tall in the wind by the railing as he looked up at the sky outside.
When he heard footsteps behind him, Aaric unhurriedly turned around. Upon seeing Sasha, who stood by the window watching him, he thought about something. He smiled gently, then, he hurled out a hand to her while saying, "Good Morning!"
"Good morning." Sasha greeted him back with a smile. She quietly looked at the hand that he extended to her and then extended her left hand to hand him his coffee mug. He took the coffee mug from her hand, then gestured to her to come over there.
"Such good weather's hard to come by. Normally, neither can you see this kind of skyline in the city, nor the air is this fresh."
He was in a pretty good mood.
Sasha looked up at the azure horizon to see a soft, golden light pouring down from the sky. She could not help but nod gently and answer calmly, "Seeing such a weather puts one in a pretty happy mood."
He shot her a side look as he lifted the hand holding his coffee mug and sipped his coffee before commenting calmly, "Why are you up so early?"
Sasha's brows raised slightly, before she asked him back, "Or are you mocking me for waking up late?"
He chuckled hearing her response and replied as he patted her head.
"I don't dare to. Ummโฆ sorryโฆ It's my habit." Aaric realised that he might have gone overboard when he saw a change of emotions on her face. So he quickly apologised for his behaviour.
Sasha understood how he felt, she shook her head and replied honestly.
"It's alright. By the way, I did not see your friends. Have they gone back?"
"Ohhโฆ they are there near the shore." Aaric replied as he pointed out in a certain direction. Sasha too looked towards that side and instantly recognised those two familiar figures who were playing at the shore. Sometimes they would hug each other or would run behind each other.
Looking at them, she glanced at the person beside her. An immense pain flooded over her chest but before she could understand, everything turned black. Sasha fainted.
