Chapter 15 - Blood pool

Sasha felt that the girl looked very familiar to her, but she could not remember that where she had seen her. That girl grimaced in pain. The pain was deep. She sat on the cemented road and was already feeling weak.

She opened her mouth to breathe. But her lungs were betraying her because of the pain in her whole body.

She was sweating heavily and because of excessive beating and injuries, she started to turn pale.

The sky was full of red clouds. It looked heavy and gloomy. There wasn't a single star or any part of the moon. Even if there was, it couldn't be seen.

She looked at the person sitting in front of her, but her vision wasn't clear. Everything was blurry. Then she thought about the person who will be waiting for her in the evening after he returns from the office. Her emotions started to bubble up inside.

She wanted to live. She wished to live happily in this beautiful world. She had yet to see so much more. She had yet to learn too much. She had yet to tell him about how fortunate she was to have him in this lifetime. She wanted to achieve every goal she had noted down on her bucket list.

She hardened her jaw. She had to wait for Aaric or the bodyguards to fetch and rescue her.

Bang!!

Just when she started to force her not to close her eyes, the third bullet was shot aiming her head accurately passed through.

The pain she was feeling was unbearable. It was already hard for her to open her eyes and everything began to look fuzzy.

She was tired, all bloody, looked forlorn and miserable.

She prayed in her heart constantly, "Aaric… please get me… me from here… Aaric, I am waiting…"

She was watching that everything was getting blurry and dark.

The time stopped around her and blood was covering her face. She knew that it was futile to pray now. She understood that it was the end of her life. Before she lost consciousness, she smiled as she thought about Aaric and moments she spent with him, then in her heart she said, "Good bye, my love. I will wait for you to meet on the other side. I could not meet you while I was dying, it's very unfortunate."

After that everything became pitch black.

Then her lifeless body fell on the dock and her blood made everything near her coloured in deep red. It seemed she was in between a blood pool.

"Ah..!!' Suddenly Sasha ried out in pain and sat up. She was breathing heavily and was trying hard to catch her breath.

Aaric could not register whatever happened just now. He was still confused as to how to reduce her fever and then she jolted awake. He looked at her and saw her pale face. He felt his heart ache. He embraced her tightly in his arms tightly. He caressed her back and gently whispered in her ears.

"Everything is alright. It's fine, I am here with you. Don't be afraid. Be calm… be calm… " Hearing his enchanting voice somehow made her breathe to return to the regular pace. Although she was still pale as before but there were no signs of it in her breathing. Aaric somehow guessed that it might be a nightmare but never he would have imagined that it would make her so terrified.

After continuously rubbing her back, in a while she finally calmed down. He looked at her and placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature. Her forehead felt cold to him. 'Her fever subsided.'

"What happened, huh? Why are you still afraid?"

"I just saw…" Sasha felt a lump inside her throat as she was about to speak. Then suddenly she started to choke vigorously.

Aaric swiftly grabbed the glass jar and poured out water in a glass. He placed the glass near her mouth and patted her back. After a few sips, her choking finally stopped. She placed the glass back on the side table. She glanced at him and wanted to say a few sentences but she could not find the right words to frame them. She lowered her head and did not speak.

Aaric patiently waited for her to continue. Sensing, she was finding it difficult to converse, he took her hands and entangled them with his and caressed the back of her hand with his thumb.

"Just say what you were saying earlier. You don't have to be so formal around me."

Sasha looked up and stared straight into his dark eyes. For a moment she felt as if a warm feeling had rushed across her chest. She was not feeling as hesitant as she was before. She was much more at ease now.

"I had a very bad nightmare." Finally she mumbled something.

Aaric heard her lowered voice and waited for her to continue.

A minute passed.

Silence.

Two minutes passed.

Still a dead silence.

Aaric thought for a while and asked her in a curious tone.

"I thought every nightmare is supposed to be bad. Does it mean that your nightmare was much more bad than others?" Aaric's question made Sasha confused but when she understood the logic behind the question she could not help but giggle out softly. Hearing her sweet voice almost melted his heart.

"No, I meant it was really bad. I saw a girl covered in blood and she looked very familiar. She even called you." Sasha slowly narrated the whole thing which she just saw. Even while recalling her face started to pale again. In the end, Sasha could not help but spilled out a question before she could stop herself.

"Do you remember…?"
