Hearing Aaric mumbled something, Alleyn turned his head back to look at the person. Aaric's cold face made Alleyn halt in his tracks. Aaric stopped when he noticed that Alleyn was staring at him in daze.
Aaric scoffed and smiled dangerously before shoving off his phone into Alleyn's hands. The latter raised an eyebrow and swiftly catched the phone to see what was happening.
As soon as Alleyn read the text, his face darkened like the bottom of a pit before smiling from ear to ear. He grinned and said to his friend.
"Congratulations brother!"
Both Aaric and Alleyn were similar in nature, not only these two but the other two buddies Elijah and George too. They always treated their loved ones very nicely and their enemies worst. When it came on protecting their women, they would do anything in the world, even if it takes turning the world upside down.
Meanwhile when all of them were enjoying themselves to their fullest, something was not going right in the city.

"How is this supposed to be an issue of my own?"
Rick Jones's father Edward Jones furiously asked his son on video call while in front of all the board of directors in the meeting room.
Rick Jones was currently enjoying his honeymoon period with his newly wedded wife Sandra accompanied by their son in the love city called Paris. He was supposed to be given the chair of CEO when he was about to get engaged to Sasha. But after all the humiliation she created and the way he married Sandra, daughter of the Taylor Family in a rush, Edward Jones roughly had an idea whether it was planned or not.
Although he was given the position of acting CEO to show the board of directors, how much capability he has. It was basically to show off that all the studies he did abroad weren't a waste of time.
But less did his father know that his son never went abroad for studying. He just straight away got a degree from a low class level institute by feeding them some good amount of money. Money never had been a problem for him. He was raised as a prince and got everything hand by hand on his demand. Concluded as he was spoon-fed.
While his role as acting CEO he never attended any director meetings which made some of the board of directors to get a dislike for him while others thought that he is managing the company so well that he doesn't have time.
While signing documents which came for final approval from marketing, accounts or any other departments he used to sign them directly without looking into profits or losses they'll face while managing those projects.
Edward Jones handed his son this year's biggest project for their company to test his abilities personally. Since he was confident in his son, he didn't think much while placing the responsibilities on his shoulders. Even though many of the board of directors were against this decision. Being the largest shareholder and the fact that it is their family business none of the directors had a say in the end.
The project was about constructing an industrial building in a crowded market in less time, less space but with much more profit.
While managing the project Rick Jones never consulted his father once about the architectural design or the files he received from each department about the overall cost revenue of the project. Even the materials which were used in the construction were never tested and in actual had a poor quality.
In a short span of time of just three months, the construction part was completed but was a bit different from the design the architectural department designed. So in order to prevent any further blames or questions he asked the architectural department to change the actual design.
The architectural department as per the orders, changed the actual design and redesigned it as per the way the industrial building was constructed.
On the inspection day, all the board of directors as well as the managing department were present. But through his contacts Rick got to know about the inspection officers. One of the officers was his old classmate. So on prior he made sure that there won't be any faults. With these plans the day of inspection went smoothly and nothing suspicious was noted.
That day Edward Jones didn't let go even a single chance to boost up about his son's capabilities and praised him in front of all the board of directors. Some of them doubted while others just wanted profit so they didn't complain much.
Though inspection officials didn't report any faults, that didn't mean there were no faultor mistakes while construction. On the opening day the back side of the building collapsed which made many workers working there injured. Luckily there were no deaths.
That day police officers enquired the Jones Enterprises for inspection reports which had no faults. The police officers demanded for re-inspection, and this time no matter how strong Rick Jones's connections were, it didn't help him.
The new inspection team concluded that the materials used are of low quality and even the design of the building isn't approved by the municipal community government in such a crowded place. Ultimately the Jones's had to face a lot of blames, badmouthing and disapprovals from people.
After that the father - son duo were on bad terms Edward removed Rick Jones from the position of acting CEO and in the board of directors meeting he declared that he will continue to hold the position of the CEO.
