In a barren perfectly square room stands only a person. The room itself is lit from some hidden source. All is quiet except for the quiet breathing of the person which is barely audible. "Human 942 your name from now on is Daniel is that understood?" a voice is heard but from everywhere in the room breaking the silence. The person standing just nods at the voice.

"You have just been bought by mister Simon M. Quinn and you are to be his first fighter. Now then you are going to have to make a good impression for Mr. Quinn so he might come back to us is that understood?" the voice asks.

"I understand" Daniel replies

Suddenly a dart hits Daniel in the base of his neck and soon he falls to the ground asleep.

When Daniel wakes up he is in the backseat of a car. He was chained to his seat preventing movement of his hands and legs while he could still move his head. There was an uncomfortable feeling in his mouth as there seemed to be a big chunk of plastic covering his tongue. Looking ahead Daniel could see that the driver's area was caged off similar to that of a police car. Daniel looked around and saw the driver. The driver was not human even though it tried to be. The driver wore a navy blue long-sleeved shirt with a taxi driver's cap on the head. What was not human was the fact that coming out of the back of his head we're wires and cables that went somewhere into the car. Also, the driver did not have his hands on the steering wheel.

The car was still driving without a problem as the wheel seemed to have a mind of its own. Daniel looked into the rearview mirror and got a look at the drivers to face. The driver had a literal plastic face that had the mouth curled up into a smile with a small gap between the lips while the eyes were permanently open. The eyes were glowing red as the stared straight ahead.

"Hello there, I am Albert your taxi driver. I hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery" the driver says. Daniel attempts to look outside through his window but all the windows were a solid black. Then suddenly the windows began to show the luscious and beautiful scenery in the world, but Daniel knew that those places did not exist on the planet.

Daniel had been one of the lucky few humans to have seen a true glimpse of the outside world and it was not what was being shown to him. The outside world was polluted, dark, and almost uninhabitable by anything. It was gloomy and an almost hell on earth -minus the fire. The driver turned in his seat facing towards Daniel.

"We are 5 minutes from your destination I hope you make the company proud"

Daniel did not reply to the driver but only looked forward as his new life would begin in a few minutes.

The car stopped exactly ten minutes just as the driver said so -but Daniel would not know that- and the door next to Daniel opened up. The seat Daniel was detached from the car and moved outside by a large crane. Outside Daniel could see that car had stopped in front of a large three-story house with a white picket fence surrounding a nice fake grass lawn. The weather was perfect as a light breeze was blowing on a cloudless sunny day.

Contrary to Daniel's beliefs the world was not as gloomy as when he first perceived it a few years ago. Looking around Daniel saw that the house was the not only one nearby. There were several others that were a few yards away from the house that Daniel was in front of. The houses all looked the same and there was no one outside in this perfect weather. Looking around his surrounding Daniel did not first see that there were two people waiting in front of Daniel.

When he realized that he was being the man goes over towards the driver's seat while mumbling something under his breath. He knocks on the window and the driver turned his head towards the man as the window came down.

"Are you certain that this is the human I purchased? This one's perception of his surroundings is severely lacking since it took him over 30 seconds to realize that we were here, " he says to the driver

"This is indeed human 942 now named Daniel. He is the specimen that you order 3 days ago but due to your location, it took a considerable amount of time to get here Mr. Quinn, " the driver responds

"Alright fine but it better perform better or else I will make sure to tell all my colleagues to never buy a human from you ever again," the man says before turning around to face Daniel. Looking at Mr. Quinn Daniel could see that he was a man in his thirties, with impeccable skin. He wore no fancy clothing just a collard shirt and jeans. The person he had been with was a lady wearing a maid outfit. She had bright red hair with green eyes, had impeccable skin, a good pair of medium-sized breasts, and was holding a metal tray with two items on it. One item was a bowl with some water in it and the second was some sort of cylindrical device. The lady was smiling but it looked fake and forced as she stared at Daniel with emotionless eyes.

Mr. Quinn picked up the cylinder and the device activated. one end was glowing a reddish-purple while the other end was blinking yellow. Mr. Quinn proceeds to move the device in front of his left eye. Daniel closes his eyes but he gets punched in the stomach getting the message across that his eye needs to be open.

Daniel's vision is red for a moment before small needle-like appendages force his eyelids open. The need to blink came almost instantly as the light irritated Daniel's eyes. The device did some sort of scan before there was a slight pain in Daniel's eye. Mr. Quinn removed the device after the appendages retracted into the device and Daniel began to blink excessively.

Mr. Quinn puts the device back onto the tray before grabbing a key card that the driver was holding out of the window. He then went behind Daniel and soon all the restraints fell off deactivated. Daniel stood up and got out of his seat. Once Daniel was on the ground the seat retracted into the car before the car speed off down the road at a high rate of speed.

"Now then take that hunk of plastic out of your mouth and place it into the tray now, " Mr. Quinn says as he gestures towards Daniel. He complies and is glad to have it out of his mouth. Mr. Quinn promptly walks into the house and Daniel hurriedly follows.

"Now then I am going to expect you to wake up precisely at 8 am sharp a minute later will result in ten whips. Breakfast is at 8:30 you will have fifteen minutes to eat your meal and get outside in the backyard for training. After three hours you will receive a lunch break for thirty minutes before resuming. Dinner is at six and that will be the end of your training for the day. Lights out at nine so until then you may do what you want. Those are the most important rules, however, there are a few more rules that we shall discuss later, " Mr. Quinn says as he stands in front of the doorway before briskly turning around and procuring a key. He unlocks the house before entering first and ushering in Daniel and the maid to hurry inside.

They all enter a long hallway with three doors on both sides leading to separate rooms in the house and a staircase at the end of the hallway leading to the second floor. "Now than Kristina make sure you give Daniel here a tour of the house and introduce everyone else here. If you need me I will be in my study, " Mr. Quinn says before turning around and going immediately upstairs.

"Now that Mr. Quinn is gone I can formally introduce myself I am Kristina I am in charge of the household and taking care of Mr. Quinn's body when needed," Kristina says as she does a slight curtsy towards Daniel. Daniel only nods in acknowledgment towards Kristina as she begins to lead him around the house for a tour.
