As Daniel was thinking about his life before coming here, someone enters the room prompting him to break from reminiscing about the past. Moving his field of view Daniel could see that it was Kristina who came in. She was still in the same outfit as before but she was holding another tray with some syringes that held different colored liquids. There were three different syringes each with their own respective color of red, yellow, and green which Daniel knew that he was going to be injected with soon. Kristina said nothing as he moved to Daniel's bedside and picked up the red filled syringe, flicking the syringe for a bit before getting an alcohol wipe from one of her many pockets.
She cleans Daniel's left inner elbow with the wipe before she inserts the syringe and injects the red liquid quickly and efficiently. She takes the syringe out of his arm and places it back onto the tray with the other syringes. She did not bother to put on a band-aid and when Daniel looked at his arm he could see why that was the case. Daniel had gotten plenty of shots before in his time at the complex which effectively got rid of most diseases that plagued humanity for centuries. The only thing that could not be cured was death and aging. Looking at his arm Daniel could see that the point where the needle of the syringe penetrated his skin was bleeding a moment ago was now closing up.
The pain still lingered but Daniel was sure that the small hole closed up in a matter of seconds. Kristina picked up the green-filled syringe and did the same thing for his left shoulder. As she retracted the syringe from his shoulder Daniel could remember things with better clarity than before.
As the last syringe was picked up from the tray Kristina took off his bedsheets and threw back the hospital gown that he was wearing. Now Mike knew what was going to happen even though he could not see what was going to happen. Daniel had heard from a few of the unlucky ones called the 'masterless' that had moved through countless households and served countless people. All of them shared some experiences and gave warnings or advice to anyone who would listen. One thing that was for sure was that regardless of age or gender once they were bought they would be injected with the 'parasite'.
Daniel felt a sharp pain near his nether regions as the 'parasite' was injected into his bloodstream. Soon the pain ended and Daniel who realized that he had been holding onto his breath started up the process again.
"The first drug held a special pathogen that would increase your metabolism and regenerative capabilities to a degree. The second syringe held nanobots that will help improve muscle memory, muscle quality, and reflexes naturally in the body through increasing the tearing and breaks of muscle while exercising or training. The third drug I am sure you already know what it is and what it does to us all so I shall not explain it to you"
Daniel just looks at Kristina who was talking in the same voice one would when talking to a complete stranger or idiot. Both of them knew what the last shot did and why Daniel was just getting it now, what just happened was to improve Daniel and to prevent him from breeding too much since there was no such thing as privacy in any place humans lived, until they were bought and had to fulfill their assigned duties given by their master, men and women would be able to freely copulate which helped to relieve stress, however, any unregistered children would be exterminated in the happy chamber. The happy chamber was a chamber where children were given a more "humane" death, Children would enter a room where they would form up in groups before they were gassed with the name happy chamber coming from the fact that the gas caused the victims to smile as they die leaving them forever in a state of frozen happiness. Kristina soon after left the room after surveying Daniel's new room for a moment to make sure that everything was in order for him.
The 'parasite' was how they kept a leash on the population of humanity after such a long time. The parasite affected women and men differently. For men, it was practically impossible to get their dick in the zone as there were nanobots that shifted or destroyed any organic fluids away from the nether regions that were not allowed or non-essential for daily function. Only once someone with the proper authority from the human population management association allowed a male to get at it then they could do whatever the heck they want with it. Females had it a bit better or worse depending on how someone looked at it though since women would not have any periods or other problems in their hands, but as a result, the nanobots would destroy any and all ovarian eggs that were found in the body regardless of if there was a child in it or not. With nothing left to do Daniel could not help but fall asleep from the lack of boredom. Daniel's night just turns into a restless empty filled dream on the bed.
When Daniel wakes back up he sees that the bindings holding him down were now gone so he gets out of bed. Seeing the full room now Daniel cannot help but feel a little sentimental at the thought that this room is going to probably be a forever home. Well for up until the upcoming fight where he might die.
Shaking away the thought of fighting to the death just for the entertainment of some hunks of metal. Daniel sees a mirror above the bed he was lying in before he woke up. Daniel had never seen a mirror before so he was kinda startled at first while he was staring at his own reflection.
He had dark brown hair, blue eyes, an average face, and was 6'0 in height. All in all, he was not ugly or handsome just normal.
'I guess this is what I look like' Daniel thinks to himself as he hears a knock at the door. Opening up the door it was Hector waiting for him but knowing that he was sometimes Mr. Quinn he did not know what to do or ask.
"Good to see you are awake now. Your training will begin in fifteen minutes in the backyard so don't be late"
Daniel nods his head still unsure of who was talking to him.
Still, Daniel follows him downstairs from the second to the first floor and into the kitchen. There was a plate of bacon and eggs waiting for Daniel on the table even though the clock said it was well past noon.
Daniel sits down and eats his food before heading into the backyard by going out the front door. When he gets there he sees that there was a robot waiting for him amidst a small group of flowers that were in bloom.
The Robot was shaped like a human but had four arms instead of two and it was a nice polished silver color. The head was circular not like that of a regular person. The eyes were not visible and the mouth was just small holes on what would have been a neck. The thing stood at 7'0 tall and its frame was literally massive as it was the width of half a car. The thing noticed Daniel who was surprised by the machine as he had never seen anything like it before as it moved towards him.
"Hello I am A.L. your fighting instructor," It said in a slightly static voice as it waved at him with one hand and reached out with another for a handshake.
In response, Daniel just shakes the hand and extends his own greetings to his newfound instructor.
"Now then Mr. Quinn has informed me of your situation and I shall assist you to the best of my ability to train you to survive the upcoming fight"
Daniel absent-mindedly nods his head at AL.
"Now then we will be shall start with the basics of using a sword and gun as those are the more common types of items that you will experience in the future with your fights"
As it says that an audible hiss is heard as a pistol from AL's torso appears and is ejected in the direction of Daniel and the same thing happens with a sword which is launched soon after. Daniel clumsily catches the gun since it being launched at him was surprising however, the sword hits the ground before he can catch it, but he sees that the blade has been blunted so if any real damage was to be done it would take quite a bit of effort to do so to pretty much anything.
"The gun you are holding is called a Glock 17 with a seventeen-round capacity magazine. That sword you are holding is called a Gladius which as you can see is blunted, for now, you are not allowed to use the real stuff" AL responds as it moves away from Daniel and back into the middle of the flowers where it was once before.
"I am your teacher. Any questions you have will have to be asked after the training session and whatever I tell you to do you must follow to the letter. Is that understood?"
Daniel nods at what he was hearing from AL as he waited for instructions on what to do since it was the best chance, Daniel had to survive his fighter career. The first match was not going to be to the death but who knows accidents are bound to happen from time to time in dangerous situations.
"Now than attack me with everything you got"
AL's prompt made Daniel freeze for a second before he charged at it with his gun aimed at AL and his sword poised to strike when he got close.
