Chapter 10
'Walking in a city of flames alone, I fight my fears and encouraged flaws. So I can look back and say all the steps I've taken weren't in vain'
-A sad young man.
'I'm ready'
Damian wished him luck and left without a second thought, still as blunt as always. Hade stayed back, 'Hade, when I open this door, everyone here will be sucked in!\ Reno warned her, gripping the doors huge handles.
She looked down distributed without uttering a word to his warning. 'Hade, do you... think I'll fail?' he glanced at her.
'No!!, of course not!! She shouted, she gritted her teeth and revolved to leave.
Her last words to him before she ascended the stairs were 'Master, dinner will be ready when you're back'.
'Dinner?.... that smarts Hade' He said as he chuckled.
Hade left and now he was all alone. His hands started to sting as he had been holding the hot handles for a while now.
With a mighty rush of flames, the doors opened much to Reno's amazement. The flames formed a menacing skull and glared at Reno ominously.
'I welcome you to a piece of my hell. Reno Woo' the skull said with puffs of smokes fizzing out of his eyes.
Reno laughed.
His gesture greatly confused the spirit before him. 'Is this some kind of joke to you? Foolish human!'
'So the devil himself has invited me in' he said still laughing. 'No no don't get me wrong, I'm honoured. But it's such a waste...
'...Since I'll be done soon anyway' he told it, summoning his flames beneath it blowing it away. Now the only thing before him was the gate. Inside he could see monsters of all sorts in the distance, and flames, lots of flames.
Their beauty seemed to pull him in, and he was sucked in, and the gate behind him shut. Now trapped his proceeded forward.
-Meanwhile-
'That insolent human!! No all of them, using my world as some training area!!' The monster lord yelled.
'Those damn Leon's. I would have conquered the whole world if it weren't for them!!'
'My lord!' a smaller human-like monster said approaching her master's throne.
'What is it now siren?' he asked her.
'When the human opened the gate we confirmed it. The Leon that sealed us is gone!!!'
The monster lord slater, a tall skeleton monster, one of the many 'Monster lords' sentient monsters from unknown origin, sealed by kings when they first arrived all over the world.
A monster known for never smiling, which was probably impossible...because he's a skull. But after hearing this news his teeth shifted in the shape of a smile.
He looked down from his throne at the hordes of undead he controlled. He thrust his arm forward saying 'Go!! Crush that human and the gate that binds us'.
Siren stood accepting his orders. 'Let's raise hell'
-Reno-
'Though they'd be more strong monsters?' he said removing his sabre from a hobgoblin he just killed. 'I need a challenge' he said. Suddenly, he could hear stomping quickly moving in his directions.
As soon as he decided to look back he saw a sword about to strike him. He dodged quickly, it without looking back. 'This place seems overrated' He said dodging vicious attacks from behind him without showing his face to his attacker.
Wild beast noises, he heard coming from behind him. He ignored it, cleaning the blood off his sword. After a while, he grew tired of constantly dodging the monster's useless attacks.
He finally turned back to face the monster, it was a Minotaur armed with a claymore. It huffed trying to grasp its breath unable to keep up with Reno's movements.
'You're loud' he told it plainly, unsure of whether it could hear his words. The monster tried to attack once more, but Reno had already moved on.
It tried to chase him but this ticked Reno off. 'Combust' he said and a rim of fire burned it down.
Reno stood on a hill, with a sea of flames acting as a background and looked on. He saw an army headed his way.
'The only way to leave here is by defeating a thousand monsters, and I see about five thousand heading my way' he said to himself, with a bit of concern in his voice.
Siren led the army from behind looking at Reno directly.
'She looks strong' he said with a bold smile.
He looked closer and saw that the army heading toward him was an army of undead. He briefly remembered his army of undead he owned. He looked to the empty sky above which as virtually endless, he wondered to himself 'am I still human'.
Now he could see the army with ease. They cleared a path for Siren and she walked forward elegantly with a staff in hand.
'Good evening, I will be your executioner'
