On the next evening, Han Seoyeon closed off the files she had just organized from Jung Hwa's order and stood up from her place toward Jung Hwa's office. She knocked on the door lightly to receive Jung Hwa's confirmation. "Come in, Secretary Han."
Han Seoyeon entered the office but had her brows lifted up.
"What's wrong?" Jung Hwa asked and saw her looking at him back with an oblivious expression that said she didn't understood what he was saying. "You look like you want to ask a question go on."
"That's." Han Seoyeon contemplated what she should do to have her question sounds less rude and spoke. "I've always wondered, CEO Jung but how do you know who knock your door? I haven't describe myself yet."
Jung Hwa closed his laptop, standing up from his seat to walk lightly to take his coat and continued to take long steps toward Han Seoyeon. "Called it an instinct."
"Instinct?" This man is as strange as ever, Han Seoyeon replied in her heart.
Looking at Han Seoyeon's expressionless smile, he chuckled. "I'm joking, I just guessed by the times of the guests who came to my office." Jung Hwa explained while wearing his suit when he felt Han Seoyeon lending hi, a hand from behind to help him with his suit and chuckled.
"I will be going now. I'll leave the rest to you."
"Please have a safe journey." Han Seoyeon spoke with sincerity and saw a glimpse of Jung Hwa covering his wide smile. Was it her imagination? He looked very delighted for a moment there.
When the sky had turned pitch black with the clouds hidden beneath the black clouds, the gathering of the night creatures began. In a hall filled with beautiful people who had hidden their vampires identity well enough for centuries, lights were lit up dimly. Holding a drink in his hand, Jung Hwa stood in one of the middle corner of the luxurious hall. The women who saw him immediately picked their pace and crowded to surround him relentlessly, giving topics after topics to talk in hope for Jung Hwa to spare a glance or perhaps a moment with them.
"Did you heard the news? The humans are growing power again, remember the last vampire that disappeared in Myeondong? They said they found his body dead last week. In the past we can hunt humans as we like but now they're the one who hunted us." The woman with brown curly hair spoke and shifted her eyes toward Jung Hwa, she stepped a little forward, showing the cleavage made between her breasts to have it touch Jung Hwa's hand slightly with a suggestive manner. "But I'm sure that matter would not bother us the pure bloods, right Mr. Jung?"
Jung Hwa covered his mouth that had quirked to a smile. He didn't realize since when the women had been flocking at him after he entered the night gatherings for vampire due to his mind recalling Han Seoyeon's expression that he studied for the past days. He drank the red liquid from his wide glass, leaving a smile briefly from his own thoughts. "You're correct. If anything happen, the elders would commence a defense measure."
"Say, Mr. Jung would you mind having a little chat with me over there?" The other woman spoke again, having her red lips dawning a seducing smile and her neck fully expose her pale neck.
"I apologize, I will have to turn your offer. I have somewhere left to go, please excuse me." He spoke and left. The women behind him began to ramble on how they weren't able to seduce Jung Hwa again. Like how humans have caste, the vampires have their own class, the lowest a half vampire, the second class the normal vampires, and the one that stayed on the prime of the class, the pure bloods. Being a pure blood, Jung Hwa lived with other vampires looking at him with awe and amazement. Although Jung Hwa had been very careful to not spare his smile to the women and treated them coldly to brush off their hungry invitations, today he felt rather relaxed from thinking Han Seoyeon. He fixed back his expression and noticed a figure standing on the corner of the hall.
He walked toward a man with a longer curly black hair and saw him leaning his back on the wall at the corner of the room as though he didn't want to be bothered by anyone at the moment. While seeping to the glass of blood on his hand, he noticed something and turned his head with a smirk. "What can I help you with, Mr. Jung?"
"Nothing you're alone here and it's enough to make others stop bothering me, so I'm staying with you until the party end." Jung Hwa returned with truth and grinned. Having cooped up by vampires he regretted his choice on coming here after his grandfather's siblings again.
Lee Young turned around with the blood drinks and the sweet smell of bloods wafting through the hall, his eyes had a deep red swirling with a heat. He gazed at Jung Hwa and pulled a mischievous smile. "You have been too quiet since a child, wouldn't it be better for you to go out and have some fun while you're still young? Take it as a lesson Hwa, desires are vampires' primary instinct if you keep on surpassing your instinct you wouldn't know when you would go out of control."
"By fun and desires what could you mean? Which desire? From what I've seen I've always stayed truth to my desires." Jung Hwa took a gulp of his drink, having the sweet taste rolling down to his throat.
Lee Young turned his eyes at the rest of the vampires talking with one another with their sharp fangs showing out unlike how they usually looked in order to mingle with humans. "Who knows, many things can be considered fun to other but not to you and the same things occurred on the opposite."
"Pff." Jing Hwa covered his mouth.
Lee Young lifted his brows. "Did I said something funny or said a joke?"
"No." Jung Hwa smirked, his eyes turning redder after his sixth drink. "It's just you said something similar that it reminded me of someone."
"Oh?" Lee Young chuckled. "So there is a person who is capable in capturing your interest?"
"It's something like that." Jung Hwa confirmed in front of the man who was once his teacher. "I heard about what has been happening in your jurisdiction. Do you think you can handle it alone? I can lend you a finger if you need a help."
"I wouldn't ask a help from a newborn baby." Lee Young replied back with a teasing chuckles. "To my eyes you look no different than thirty years ago."
"I think you are really getting older despite your appearance and suggest that you would need to take a checkup for your eyes. Thirty years ago I was still in primary school." Jung Hwa replied with a blunt sarcasm.
"I don't need any help. In case if you mind helping me then, beware of the damned hunters. I don't know what they're planning but I'm sure it's nothing good."
"Of course, if the hunters move nothing good will ever come out." Jung Hwa placed his empty glass to the rounded table beside him and put a small smirk. "I'll get going now it's already late."
"Since when did you began on picking curfew?" Lee Young teased again relentlessly, looking at his junior who scoffed from his words.
"It's a good habit, you know, especially for a vampire." He chuckled.
"That's right, take care of yourself especially these days. I assumed you have heard the news beforehand from the ladies over there? A pureblood may be strong but it never mean they can't die, remember this."
"Of course, I know it very well, after all." Jung narrowed his eyes, gazing at the dark sky on the window across him. Lee Young stopped his jokes for a while and parted his shoulder lightly. "I heard you have been picking on Park Hoon, you should know he doesn't have a strong mentality to withstand you."
"Likewise. I don't think Gang Gwi could keep his sane mind with you. Good night." Jung Hwa brushed off his words and exited the hall with languid steps. Lee Young looked at the young vampire striding out of the hall and had himself completely amused. He was a little worried about the little pureblood vampire due to how odd he was than the rest of his peers who would stick to their desires but now, he was sure that the young vampire had found his desire. As once a vampire had found their desire, their instinct as a vampire would define on its own.
