For a company, working with your coworkers is much of an essential thing on the first day of your work. For example, if you already had a bad relationship in the first day of your work, the possibility of having the rest of your days in your company sour would be high. But bonding with the boss is another different thing, especially the CEO of the company. Many, including the people who worked in Altar Company would rather not poke the CEO because they were afraid of poking his nerve.
Thus when there's a welcoming party for CEO Jung's secretary would one think to invite Jung Hwa?
That was of course no! Who would want to sit on the edge in a welcoming party?
The whole Core management team thought the same thing. But Jung Haw's whim was quite harsh on them.
In HanBam barbecue shop, the night had turned in. The sky turning black and in front of them was a meshed grill with bottles of soju and beer. It's a normal thing and by now everyone should have played some drinking games, yet no one dared to make a move.
"Ms. Lee, mind telling me what happened here?" Kang Taehee asked in a hushed tone.
Lee Sunny still kept a stiff smile on her face. "Do you think I would know?!"
Go Sera one of the members of the Core management team who sat beside Sul Insu gulped. "I don't think anyone told the CEO that we are holding the welcoming party for Secretary Han, right?"
They all looked at each other and shook their head in a rhythm. "Of course not."
"What does this shop have to offer?" Jung Hwa's voice brought up some resilience from the rest of the team.
Like others who were surprised, Han Seoyeon also asked why he would come here but nevertheless her face showed nothing but her usual business smile. "We have a barbecue, soju, beer, and side dishes for them too."
Jung Hwa glanced down at the table. As they had chosen an outdoor seat, the silences felt colder than before. Feeling some coldness, Jung Hwa spoke. "Then we should order an indoor seat."
The older grandfather who was the owner of the shop heard his formal way of speaking and scoffed from the opposite table. "What indoor seat? Can't you see that it is packed inside?!"
Jung Hwa did turn around then saw the packed people and turned his face again. As he did so, the silence grew tenser.
"CEO Jung, while we wait for the coal to burn, should we play some games?!" Huan Seoyeon spoke and the people nodded in a hurry, agreeing with her idea as long as the silence wouldn't kill them now.
"I've never lost in a game but let's hear it, good idea Secretary Han."
"Thank you very much, then what should we play?" Han Seoyeon turned her eyes to the rest of the group.
"Then three six nine!" Lee Sunny spoke giving the easiest option.
"Is that a name of a new restaurant?" Jung Hwa asked for the group to become silent again.
"I forgot." Go Sera whispered. "The CEO lives in a different world than us!"
"How about, Baskin robbin 31?" Sul Insu gave a solution and all of them was about to raise a thumbs up yet Jung Hwa spoke again. "Secretary Han, what is our stock in Baskin Robbin?"
It was a wrong choice! They all became deadly silent by now.
"It's about thirty four." Han Seoyeon spoke and Jung Hwa added. "About our new hotel in east Asia, I found the complaints from the guests have everyone come up with a solution?"
Who would ask work in an after work party? They gulped, so,e began drinking Soju to ease their nervousness.
Han Seoyeon took the Soju bottle singlehandedly, shaking it before opening the cap and poured it to a small glass. While giving the glass to Jung Hwa, she spoke like a robot. "If I have to say, CEO Jung in a party, no one would discuss about work anymore."
Jung Hwa lifted his brows. "Then what would you be doing if you're not discussing or work here?"
"It's a party to know each other better, CEO Jung." Jung Hwa gave an understanding tone and while she was still the center of the conversation, Han Seoyeon spoke up. "Then how about truth or dares?" She glances with a smile to Jung Hwa, pressing, "Of course you know the game, right? If truth answer the question truthfully and dares do what others told you to." They all faced at Jung Hwa with expectant eyes.
"Alright." He gave his words and Kang Taehee took an empty soju bottle to twirl it on the desk when it stopped to Lee Sunny, all of them drew a relieved breath. "I choose truth!"
"Then anyone has a question for Ms. Lee?" Kang Taehee asked for Sul Insu to raise a hand up. "Me! Ms. Lee, who in this desk you admire the most?"
Lee Sunny smiled and the rest showed a great expression to his clever question. "Of course it's CEO Jung! Not only he is very handsome, smart, but he is also a gentleman."
Jung Hwa smiled. "Thank you very much for your praise. Your words are all correct."
Can't he drop his narcissistic for a moment? Han Seoyeon asked in her heart.
"Then, next!" Kang Taehee twirled the soju bottle for it to point Han Seoyeon. Seeing it everyone felt saved that the CEO wasn't pointed again. "I would also choose truth." Han Seoyeon replied.
"Who has a question for Secretary Han?" Kang Taehee asked again and when Lee Sunny was about to ask, Go Sera cut in between. "Secretary Han are you seeing someone right now?
"That's-"
"Dating coworkers are prohibited in the company." Jung Hwa suddenly throw a cold water over the people who were getting a little loose mouth from the drinks.
"Of course I know that CEO Jung, I don't have anyone I'm currently seeing right now." Han Seoyeon replied for the people gave a long "oh". Jung Hwa heard her words and asked. "Is there anyone you're currently seeing?"
"Of course there is no one. My job is my priority at the moment." Han Seoyeon robotic's answer escapes before she could think.
"Good Then." He smiled a smile that Han Seoyeon couldn't understand what it meant.
