Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Birth Ceremony VIII

Quinn Ophyris

After the lightning bolt fell on his body, we all stood still to see if she managed to survive the process, some do not remember his life with the Goddess, or feel such a shock that they cannot return to reality. Therefore, all the members of the tribe attend the ceremony, it is our way of showing the new calf that, although we cannot help her pass the test, we will stay at her side.

Sometime later, when I was beginning to worry that something had gone wrong with the test, the baby gets up and looks up at the sky, and then begins to transform into a human. I always knew that her features were going to be different from the rest of the tribe, but I was surprised at how different she was. Instead of the blonde hair that has mostly the limbs, the girl has wood-colored hair that, although that is not so rare, her deep green eyes and brown skin were something I had never seen in my life. She looked ridiculously small and fragile, it seemed that she was only about 5 years old and had small moles on her face. Two under her right eye, one under her left cheek, and one in her nose.

As soon as she became completely human, the priestess put a blanket over her body and then raised her to the moon and thanked the Goddess for giving us one more member to the tribe. At that moment, my father climbed the platform and approached the priestess, my brother and I do the same. That is how we recognize her as a member of the family. My father puts the girl in his arms and then takes her to the new shack. The girl cannot bear the walk and falls asleep in my father's arms.

When we leave the cave, many members of the tribe come to my father to congratulate him on their new daughter, they seem quite happy about my sister's behavior and ask my father when they can go visit her. Women generally do not leave the huts until they are about 10 years old, as it is considered risky, there are not many women, the few that exist must be treated with great care. My father only smiles at the other members, but without committing himself to anything.

Upon arriving at the new shack, my father leaves my new sister in his room. To give her enough privacy, my father made sure to create a separate room for her at the bottom of the hut with a window looking out into the woods. Before my sister, my father, and we did not care much about space and privacy. My father goes hunting several times a year and my brother and I, being twins, do not need many things. But our new sister changes things a little. The new shack has three rooms and a hall. I think my father is extremely excited about my new sister, as it is the largest hut in the entire village
