Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Injections of Knowledge

Katherine

The knowledge…

In the society in which I was born, knowledge has always been an essential pillar, since it is thought that with this one the different problems can be solved, and the survival of the species will be ensured. For this reason, we have always tried to ensure that knowledge is transmitted to the greatest number of people and as quickly as possible. Among the many experiments carried out for this purpose, one of the most remembered was the injections of knowledge.

These were characterized by a large metal machine with enough energy "injects" knowledge into a person. It was a fast and accurate method of sending knowledge. However, a few years after its creation it was banned in several countries, and others, it had several restrictive measures for its use. Why?

Well, that is because it is too dangerous, the cost to pay in some cases is extremely high. Yes, it transmits knowledge quickly, but if it transmits a lot of quantity, the brain is not capable of assimilating so much data and it can cause hallucinations, seizures, and even death. You might think that just limiting the total knowledge transmitted is enough to solve this problem, but it is not. Since the total knowledge that can be received from one person depends on the person and this limit is not known until several studies are carried out on it. In addition to that, the system has another problem: the information is sent to the brain in the form of energy that the neurons read and translate, if this current is very high it can cause a lot of irreparable damage to the brain.

The machine I was on last night was one of those, I don't understand why it was there in the first place. At first, when I appeared in this world, I assumed I was on the same planet, then I thought I was in another planet. But also, there is a connection between my ancient world and my current world, which I cannot decipher. In addition to that, there is also the issue of how problematic the knowledge transmitted was.

It was a kind of story in which there was a kind of Goddess who gave me a new life and showed me how to become human. The knowledge was delivered to me in such a way that it seemed that had been a memory of mine, which accompanied by the failures of the system that I mentioned above, put me in a state of hallucination where I did not understand what was real and what was not.

If it were not for my previously obtained knowledge, I would have been a complete devotee to that illusory Goddess, who, observing the level of manipulation to the members of the tribe, I can assure that she is completely false. But more important than all that comes to me the question of why this false Goddess was created and how her existence affects the lives of the members of the tribe. These questions do not let me enjoy the idea that I became human again.
