When she woke, Lilliana was looking at the ceiling. Perhaps she'd fallen asleep and dreamed of men that abducted her and had magic. But when she sat up, she heard someone yell.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" someone shouted. "YOU BROKE IT!" So it really wasn't a dream.
"I DIDN'T BREAK IT, ROY DID!" another person shouted back.
"HE'S LYING!" someone else said. "I SAW ZAK DROP THE THINGY WITH THE FLOWERS IN IT." Oh no. Lilliana got to her feet and peeked into the room. Five men were crowded around a broken vase, arguing.
"I'll handle this," one of them said. He touched the vase and murmured something. Lilliana gasped in wonder as the broken pieces started floating and mending themselves. The group turned to the noise.
Lilliana quickly darted out of sight and went to the kitchen. She grabbed two knives and boldly walked into the room.
"What are you doing?" she said. Their eyes widened at the knives.
"She's got a weapon!" One of them said. The men took out their weapons as well. The a click came from the front door and she heard a voice.
"Sis!" the person said. "I'm home!" It was her brother Carlos.
"You two stay here," one of the men said. "I'll go with Oliver and Nathan to deal with that human." Three men left, and the other two quickly grabbed and immobilized her. A few seconds later, the men that left come back in, holding Carlos.
"Hey! What are you—" Carlos finally saw Lilliana. "What's going on?"
"I was taking the trash out when these men grabbed me and somehow got into our apartment."
"Let go of us or I'm calling the cops," said Carlos.
"Make him shut up," one of them said. The one that was holding him clamped a hand over Carlos' mouth, so only muffled yells we audible.
"Now," said one of the men. "Cooperate or this one dies. He motioned to Carlos' captor, who whipped out a blue sword and held it to Carlos' throat.
