Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Zak (Earth)

He could already see what the female human was going to say by the look on her face.

"Fine," she said. "Let him go. We will help you if you don't cause too much trouble, and if you don't kill anyone. Right, Carlos?" The male human nodded. The man let go of Carlos.

"We have a deal," Zak said. "If you at any point break it, we will kill you."

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Then both of the humans left. The two humans whispered something, then went into their rooms and shut their doors. When the humans were out of sight, the group sat down and talked.

"What do you think?" Marvin asked.

"Why did we choose the most bossy human of all?!" Zak exclaimed. "Why can't we kill her and the other one and find a less bratty one?"

"She already agreed to help us," Oliver said.

"Yeah," Roy agreed. "And she's not all that bad."

"I wonder if all humans are like her," Nathan said. "Or more peaceful."

"We cannot decide anything until we get some rest." Marvin admonished. So they slept.

——

In the morning, it was Zak who woke first. He looked out the window, at the humans below, surprised by how peaceful Earth was. No one seemed to be haunted by thoughts of war and battle. Zak explored some more. He found a few rooms with unfamiliar items. He opened another door, which happened to be the male human's. The human was sleeping on his side. Zak silently closed the door and opened another, and found the female. he got bored so he went back to the main room and found that Nathan and Marvin were already awake.

"What are you doing?" asked Marvin.

"I was exploring some more areas in this place," Zak said.

"But you didn't go in their rooms, right?" Nathan said.

"Uh," said Zak. Marvin and Nathan both gave him matching disapproving glares.

"WHO CAME IN MY ROOM?!" shouted someone. The female came stomping out.

"What makes you say that?" Zak asked nervously.

"Because," she said. "They didn't close the door." Oh no. He forgot to close the female's door.

"Oops," said Zak.

"DON'T YOU OOPS ME," she yelled. "I SPECIFICALLY SAID NOT TO GO IN MY ROOM!"

"Wow," Zak heard Nathan whisper to Marvin. "She's scary."

"What's all the noise?" asked the brother of the female, who was walking out of his room.

"Nothing," the female said. "This imbecile went in my room WHEN I SAID NOT TO."

"Haha," laughed the male. He looked at the female's expression. "I mean, how dare they!"

"Let's go wake the others," said Marvin. He, Nathan, and Marvin left, leaving the two humans.

"OLIVER! ROY! WAKE UP!" Zak shouted. He caught Marvin and Nathan rolling their eyes.

"Must you yell at everything?" said Marvin.

"Yes," Zak replied. Oliver and Roy sat up sleepily. The two humans came to the main room to join them.

"I think it's time you tell us the full story," said the male. "Now." Marvin shrugged and started talking.

"We come from a world across the universe, full of elves, called Arimelia. Elves are not too different from humans, except we have magic and pointed ears. We have been sent here to learn about humans." Marvin took a deep breath and continued. "We would very much appreciate if you helped us."

"And what are your names?" the female asked.

"As if we would tell—" Zak began.

"I'm Marvin, the shouty one is Zak, the magic genius is Nathan, the one over there is Oliver, and the one next to Oliver is Roy," Marvin said. "What are your names?"

"My name is Lilliana and my brother is Carlos," the human female said.

"So just to be clear, magic is real?" Carlos asked.

"Yes," answered Nathan. He made a small flame on the plan of his hand. "Do humans have magic?"

"Well, not really," said Lilliana. "But we do have things you guys probably don't have back in Arimora."

"Arimelia," Oliver corrected.

"Well, if you'll excuse me, I need to make my bed," Carlos said taking a step closer to his room.

"When I went in there, I pretty sure your bed was already constructed," Zak said. Carlos started laughing. Then his face grew serious.

"Wait, you went IN MY ROOM TOO?!"

"Uh, by accident," said Zak.

"Oh well," Carlos said. "At least I'm not dead. Anyways, when I say 'I'm making my bed', I mean I'm fixing it."

"But it's not broken," said Zak.

"No," Carlos said. "I mean I'm putting the blankets back to where they should be. Do you guys not do that?"

"No," Roy said. "We used magic to make everything in our rooms go back to normal."

"Oh," said Carlos. "Well I'm going to fix my bed with my hands because I don't have magic."

"I could do it for you with magic," Nathan said.

"Hmm." Carlos looked as though he was thinking about it. "Sure, it's this way." Nathan followed Carlos into the room. Zak turned to Lilliana.

"So," he began. "How do we learn about humans?"

"The easiest way I can think of is to be more like humans," Lilliana said.

"How do we do that?" asked Oliver.

"The first step is to dress like humans," she said. "People don't normally wear wizard clothes, you know?"

"So then how do we get human clothes?" Marvin asked.

"Once your friend is done helping my brother," said Lilliana. "I'm taking you guys to the mall."
