Cloud Eagle/Jaguar

The cloud eagle kept glaring down at her. It's intimidating glares continued as if it was looking at a free meal.

On the other hand her instincts had told her to fly away as fast as possible but she had already frozen up. Even her flying had begin to faulter.

Ding!

[Innate skill: Basic Flight(level 2)]

The sound of the system's notification snapped her back into reality but her mind wasn't thinking clearly. Her instincts finally took over when the cloud eagle stopped circling and dived down. She darted away as fast as she could.

The cloud eagle stuck out its sharp talons readying to grab hold of her.

Frantically trying to fly far away, she got lucky and the cloud eagle had just barely missed her. It's talons had only grazed the side of her creating a small cut.

While the eagle had to stop itself from falling she thought of a plan to try and shake the eagle off her trail, but it was also risky.

'If I could also dive under the trees that eagle would probably not follow if it didn't have camouflage. It's worth a try'

Taking a deep breathe she used almost all her power to fly upward, which the eagle followed her. Then, tucking her wings in, she dived down head first trying to land straight into a very small spot in the forest that didn't have many trees.

The pressure of the wind hitting her face made it hard to open her eyes and she just had to keep squinting to see how close she was to the ground. Getting closer and closer to the ground, once she was just below the tops of the trees stretched out her wings, gliding extremely fast.

The eagle saw her dip under the trees but stopped it's pursuit, not daring to go into the forest as well. Instead, it slowly glided above it silently searching through the spaces between the leaves and branches.

Gliding through the forest, she had slowed down quite a bit while avoiding any tree and branches in the way. In the distance she saw medium sized tree with pink fruit growing. She turned to glide over to it, landing on one of its branches. The fruit had a similar color to her own feathers and most were around the size of a palm.

Landing onto the branch her heart raced again and she held her breathe. The cloud eagle had glided in her direction. It felt like an eternity waiting for it to move on. Then, suddenly it turned around making her even more nervous. But instead it glanced back again and flew up back into the clouds.

Letting out a breathe of relief, she slumped down and and leaned her back onto the tree.

[Innate skill: Basic Flight (level 2) advanced to Advanced Flight (level 1)]

'What? Didn't I have to level it up for it to advance?'

[Notice: Innate skills can advance when doing something that should be done using the advanced skill. Such as the dive host has performed successfully]

" That's pretty cool...."

She had been exhausted using all her stamina flying. Maybe I could rest just a little... Her mind started to fade into darkness dozing off.

In a study room was a man with long dark hair tied into a ponytail. He had been writing on a price of paper with a brush.

Knock! Knock!

"You may enter."

"Sir. An army camp is starting to make a move on the other side of the forest of secrets."

A brown haired man dressed in all black had come into the room and informed the third prince of an enemy camp making the first move. The third prince had stopped writing, put the brush down, and stood up.

"Zimo, prepare horses and army men. We're heading to the forest of secrets."

"Yes! Prince"

Kneeling on one knee was another person similar in age to the prince and had long redish orange hair who had appeared in the corner of the room. And then disappeared again after receiving the order.

[Forcing host to awaken]

[Beginning to awaken host.]

"Huh...?"

She had finally woken up from her sleep due to the system forcing her good nap to end early.

Getting back on her two feet, she wondered why the system woke her up. Soon she realized the large claw marks that cut into the branch she slept on.

"Wha - "

Unfortunately she couldn't ask anything when a jaguar had climbed the tree slashed at her back with its sharp claws, creating deep gashes. Then the jaguar got closer and slammed her to the ground with its large paw.

"*Cough!!!"

She hit the ground so hard that she coughed a little blood. The pain she felt was much more physical pain than what she'd experienced in this and her previous life.

Luckily her wings hadn't gotten injured so she could fly but even with that she could barely muster the strength to stand.

The bleeding hadn't stopped and the immense pain was overwhelming. The jaguar jumped down from the tree and picked her up in it's jaws.

'I got... an idea!'

In the spur of the moment, she took the chance to peck into the jaguar's eye that was closest to her. The eye started bleeding and she was dropped from its mouth onto the ground.

The adrenalane rushed through her and numbed the pain she felt. Using all her force to fly to a place that a predator couldn't get her. Flying gave her a little relief, but not much, as the jaguar started pouncing in the air to grab her with one of its eyes closed.

She kept flying until she couldn't see the jaguar anymore. She felt received, but with that relief most of the adrenaline that kept her going faded. She felt that immense pain once again and fell to the floor. She crawled into a bush that was in front of her and stuck her head out.

It was in a path on the other side of it. One that was made of dry dirt and sand as well of little bits of rock and gravel.

'You finally speak? You didn't even warn me with the jaguar...'

She started to fall unconscious laying on the road in pool of blood that came from her wound.
