Third Prince POV

Zhang Qianbai was in the middle of writing a report about their travels and the new species of bird they found. Suddenly he could feel a presence outside his tent that came out of nowhere.

For him to not detect whatever it was, he thought it could have been a Qi beast, he grabbed a dagger that was hung on a wall of the tent. The dagger glowed a light white when he wrapped it in his own Qi.

Zhang Qianbai threw the dagger so quickly that it had looked like a streak of white light and the Qi made it go even faster.

Actually, when she was eating the berries, her stealth turned off and that was when Zhang Qianbai noticed her.

He threw the knife through a gap in the tent's opening. After throwing the knife he went to see what it was that could've snuck so close to his tent. What he saw made him speechless.

He couldn't help but stare closely at the bird in front of him. It was the they had healed just a few hours ago. It had a severe injury then, but now it didn't look the least bit injured, it was having the time of its life eating all the food. It even ate the berries he was going to give to his horse.

What made him even more speechless and curious was when the bird seemed to have waved at him.

After she waved at the man in front of her, he seemed to have looked even more closely at her in silence.

'Aaahh~! this silence is could kill..!

A few seconds of awkward staring at each other in silence passed. The out of nowhere the man grabbed her and she was too surprised to react in time. He had covered her wings so she couldn't fly off.

"Zimo!"

"Yes prince"

"Lock this bird in a cage"

She could only think bad thoughts as being in a cage was similar to her last life. Struggling, not wanting to be in a cage, she used her skill bite to make her bite more powerful as she bit into the side of his hand. Instead of him letting her go, he glared coldly at her and tossed her over to Zimo.

Watching the man turn around and walk back into his tent, she had finally relaxed a little.

'Hhmp! I can definitely handle someone that isn't as scary as him.'

Is what she was thinking, so she just sat quietly while Zimo was holding her. Zimo on the other hand was at a loss for what to do. The cages they brought were for large Qi beasts so the gaps between the bars were larger to save resources. He was positive that even if he put her in one of the cages she could walk right out.

sigh~~

"Little birdy, you should behave in front of prince Qianbai..."

'Prince? So... that man is a prince? Hmph! I know I came to repay them for saving me but....'

'oh right that prince called him Zimo, huh.'

Zimo started thinking of places to keep her since the cages were too big. He was a little hesitant to keep it there, but he had no other choices. Zimo walked into a different tent with her still sitting in his arms.

"Alright little birdy, behave, this is my tent so just stay there."

She had been placed onto a desk next to a futon that was on the floor. She didn't want to sleep on a desk but it was better and safer for her so she just swallowed her complaints and tried to sleep.

She could feel Zimo look her way every now and then, that it was getting a tad uncomfortable.

'Why does he keep looking at me?! Am doing something wrong?! Uwaah!! This unknown is killing me!'

She had originally closed her eyes to at least attempt to sleep but opened them so she could see if he was really looking at her. When she fully opened her eyes he quickly turned his head so he wasn't looking at her anymore.

'I, I saw him. He was totally looking at me just now.'

Her expression had gotten darker out of nervousness. Was he going to kill her once she was asleep?

Deifferent than what she was thinking, Zimo had actually been observing her to see if it would mess with anything while he was alseep. Something about the bird gave him the impression it wasn't just a normal bird. However he didn't feel any Qi coming from it so he was sure it wasn't a Qi beast, making him a little more curious and confused.

She had just sat still and didn't budge an inch for a long while so he just slept thinking she had also fallen asleep, but inside of her mind was a mess.

'OH GOD WHAT DO I DO?!?!?! DO I JUST SIT HERE?! SHOULD I MAKE A RUN FOR IT?!?!'

She was in chaos. It would surely complete the mission if she just stayed but that would mean she had to follow their orders and it was uncertain if they meant any harm.

'If I follow them and they DON'T kill me, I would probably get a lot of benefits with that dude being a prince!'

She was leaning more towards staying, before a flash of lightning had struck her mind.

'If he was truly a prince, why is he here isn't the forest on horeses with a couple soldiers? Shouldn't he be in some kind of palace? ARRR! I have too much on my mind now!

It was pretty late at night so she was getting tired. Seeing that Zimo also seemed to have fallen asleep, she stopped all her thoughts and just slept peacefully throughout the entire night.

~~~~~~
"YAAAAAWN~~~~"
She rolled over onto her stomache to get up and stretch her wings. She slept like a rock and rolled around too, ending up knocked out on her back. Just getting up after having a peaceful sleep, her mind was still a little not completely awake so she just hopped off the desk and started waddling herself outside.
The smell of food being cooked ran through the air and she could feel her saliva almost dripping out of her mouth. Sparkles formed in her eyes and she flew straight for the kebabs of meat and vegetables collected around the forest because they were the easiest to eat.
"BREAKFAST~!"
She couldn't wait to eat since she never had breakfast in her last life. Flying forward she swooped and grabbed one of the kababs that were being handed out.
It caused a bit of a commotion when they saw her take the kebab and land on a tent, gobbling it down as if it was the best thing its ever eaten.
