The other three guys came to the door with their armours and weapons equipped. Cole had a staff and a helmet, Oscar had a cool looking dagger, a pair of gauntlets and a cloak, Mike had a spear, a sword on his waist and a belt. I looked in envy at the dagger in Oscar's hands before I remembered something.
I opened my inventory and took out the Shield of Stoik, Oscars eyes lit up. "Wanna trade?" I said with a smile on my face, he nodded vigorously. "What do you want for it?" he said looking at it with a giant grin in his face. I pointed to the dagger in his hand, the shield was a two handed shield so he couldn't use the dagger if he wanted to use the shield. He stopped grinning for a moment then said" What's the rarity of the shield?" I looked at him in surprise as he was never one for rare items but I answered truthfully. He smiled then gave me then dagger in his hands, I smiled back and gave him the shield. I appraised the dagger and grinned on delight,
[Dagger of Decebalus - Rare - The last weapon that was used by the great warrior King Decebalus of Dacia, to end his own life - ATK +500 SEN + 8 - Durability : 170/180 - Requirements - Must know Dagger Arts - Ability : Last Breath (allows the user to kill the opponent that killed them after their death)]
I couldn't use the dagger yet as I didn't know Dagger Arts but that didn't matter as I had 2 skill points, one from the character creation and one from levelling to level five. I put the dagger into my inventory then turned around to leave.
We all walked to the Sergeant's room and knocked on, he opened the door and we gave him a salute. We told him we were going to check out the store, he allowed us to go and we left.
We started walking away from the Sergeants room and entered the elevator. As the doors were about to close a hand stuck in between them and they opened. Rose stood in the doorway with a cross look on her face.
"Hey, Rose. What's up?" I asked with a nervous look on my face as I knew what was up. "I'm coming with you." she said adamantly and squeezed in between me and Mike, the door closed and we went down.
We exited on the 1st floor and went down the fire escape as the front entrance was now completely sealed off. We walked towards the store which was about 5 minutes away.
Just as we saw the store in the distance I noticed that Rose was still pouting. I leaned down and whispered in her ear, "So your pouting again are you? It's like you want me to kiss you with that cute little face of yours." I said with a smile before she turned beet red and went to walk with Lana and Lucy instead, they started conversing immediately as Lana and Lucy both watched her streams.
I laughed it off and continued walking alone. As we approached the store we saw a steady stream of people entering and exiting so we joined the queue. We entered the building after everyone payed for their IDs. Everyone stood in the croud of people looking at the screen in front of them. I ignored it at first as I had already seen it but then I saw a yellow notice in the board.
I stared at it for a moment then my eyes lit up with excitement, It was a quest board. There was a large list of quests running down the board, ranging from common to Godly. It was good to know the different tiers of quests but I didn't know if they corresponded with armour and weapons or not. I accepted some repeat quests that were of common rarity then disappeared into the croud using Blend.
I went towards the second floor and headed to the skill shop section. I stood on the mat placed before the counter and a hologram popped up. It was a man, big and burly dressed in a nice suit and tie. It spoke suddenly with an autonomous voice "Welcome to the skill shop, you have 2 skill points would you like to see the skills that cost 2 skill points?"
I looked at the hologram for a second before experimenting. "Show me skills related to daggers." I said, a blue screen popped up with a list of lots of different skills. I scrolled through the long list three times but I couldn't find the Dagger Arts skill. "Show me the Dagger Arts skill." I said to the hologram. A honk sounded and a red screen popped up,
[Dagger Arts is not a skill but an ability, to learn an ability you must learn it from an Ability Scroll. You may find Ability Scrolls in dungeons or buy them from the system store]
I looked at it for a second before opening my status, there was an 'Abilities' section that I had missed before. I walked towards the item store and stood on the mat. I was expecting the burly man to reappear but an elderly woman appeared instead. "Welcome to the item shop, you have 3950 Vis would you like to see the items that cost 3950 Vis or less?" "Show me your Ability Scrolls" I said, a blue screen popped up with hundreds of ability scrolls on it.
I was stunned. There seemed to be more Abilities than there were Skills. I scrolled through them all before reaching Dagger Arts. I clicked it and it popped up with a description,
[Dagger Arts Ability Scroll - Item type : Scroll - Rarity : 2 - Allows the user to learn all forms of the Dagger Arts - Cost : 500 Vis]
It cost ten times more than my ID Card but it seemed worth it so I bought it anyway. When I clicked the 'Buy' button a yellow scroll suddenly appeared out of thin air and landed in my hand. I appraised it and the same description came up.
