Chapter 19 - Hunters4Hire

The teleport felt a little weird, it was as if I had just stepped into a cold shower and the water was running down my body.

I looked around and saw that we were now outside the portal. I told Cole and Mike to stay at the portal entrance just in case someone came to try and get in.

I decided to head down to the store and see if I could get any information on how I could start a faction.

If we had a faction then we would be able to put our faction territory in the apartment and monopolise the dungeon as best we could.

We walked down to the store and entered we went straight to the item section. I stepped onto the mat and the hologram popped up and greeted me. "Show me items to do with factions" I said before a blue screen popped up.

There was an incredibly large list of things but luckily the thing I was looking for was right at the top of the list,

[Faction Creation Scroll - Item type : Scroll - Rarity : 4 - Allows the user to create a faction - Only one faction can belong to a user at any one time - Cost : 5000 Vis]

I looked at it then bought it immediately, I didn't even care that it used up nearly a third of my Vis. I then started walking out of the store but something caught my eye.

Floating above the entrance heading towards the lower floors there was a large blue screen, it said 'Sell all items here' on it. I pulled Oscar along down stairs towards a counter which said sell above it, we stepped on the mat and a hologram greeted us.

This time the hologram was an overweight middle aged man who was balding. "How do we sell items?" I asked before a blue window popped up much like the inventory.

I told Oscar to place all of the trash loot into the sell inventory and he did. Each bone, bat wing, knife and robe sold for 5 Vis each so we made a total of 1500 Vis from the trash loots. I smiled as Oscar took the money then transferred it over to me.

We walked out of the store and headed back home so that I could create a faction. On the way I opened up the world map and noticed that there were already some factions placed around the world. They were all coloured blue, which probably meant that we were neutral with them.

There were 6 in total so far, The Holy Empire which was in Rome, Italy inside of a giant amphitheater; The Royal Windsor Knights in England in the Buckingham Palace; The Descendants of Shiva in a large office block in Mumbai, India; Guilty Thorn Guild in Houston, Texas; Hunter Guild in Washington D.C. ;Eco-Warrior Guild in Dam Square Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

I hurried back home with a frown on my face as I wouldn't get an achievement for the first Faction.

As we arrived at the apartment block I went up to my room and pulled out the scroll, I used it and it disintegrated in my hands. A blue screen popped up,

[You have initiated th Faction creation menu. All Factions must have a Faction Territory, please select your territory now]

The world map then popped up and I highlighted the apartment block and parking garage where the dungeon was located. It said I could highlight 2 Square kilometers so I also highlighted the row of houses next to the apartment and the roads surrounding which am mounted to 1.6 kilometres.

The weird thing was I could highlight things really far away from the initial territory and still be able to keep the original. This got me thinking, if I came across any other dungeons or things that I wanted I could just highlight them with my extra 0.4 kilometres and claim them for my Faction.

I proceeded by pressing the arrow on the menu and another screen showed itself. It was a lot like the character creation screen, it wanted me to add a name and occupations then it would give me an overall power rating once I invited my Faction Mates.

I decided to use our in game guild name as then our guild mates from in game could come and join us.

In game we were known as 'Hunter4Hire Guild' or just 'Hunters' for short. We would accept the most dangerous missions and complete them for exorbitant prices. We were basically mercenaries for hire but we didn't really do contract killing or anything like that as it didn't really thrill us.

After I named the guild I added occupations, I would be the guild master whilst Oscar, Cole and Mike would be vice guild masters, along with our friend Rodriguez if he ended up coming once we made the guild. I then added all of the different occupations in the guild, trying my best not to forget any. I left them blank at the minute as there was no one in my guild.

Once I finished I opened my status page like the blue screen told me to and there was a new window called 'Messaging'. I could only 'message' the people I could see because I didn't have a CommLink from the store.

I decided to get everyone and head down to the store to buy some CommLinks so that we could function as a guild. Once we were all together I sent them all a 'Faction Request' and they accepted one by one, even Rose accepted without hesitation.

We walked down to the store and went over to the items section only to find that the CommLinks would actually replace your earrings.

I didn't mind as my earrings were only common anyways, and no one else wore any earrings.

We went over to the armour section and looked at the CommLinks.

The cheapest CommLinks were 1000 Vis but you could only put 3 people into your personal contacts. Whilst you could still message anyone it would take longer and you could not call them at all. The most expensive one in the store went for 100,000 Vis and it could hold 50,000 contacts which was awesome, however I wouldn't have that much Vis anytime soon so I decided to buy the one for 10,000 which could hold 50 contacts.

Everyone else followed my lead and bought the one for ten thousand which near enough bankrupted everyone. However they decided not to fret as they could just go back up to the dungeon and earn more money anyway.

We headed back up to the apartment block so that I could invite everyone there into my faction.

I knew that the Sergeant and Mrs. Sheila would join so that they could keep an eye on us, I wasn't sure about the Burnhams though.

As the mayor Mr. Burnham would more than likely make his own faction out of his officials in order to keep order in the streets.

I sent everyone but Rose to go and get some more levels in the dungeon whilst we gave invitations to the people upstairs. We first walked to the Sergeant's door and knocked. He answered, I saluted, and I explained the situation to him. He agreed and him and his wife accepted the invitations, we closed the door and approached Rose's apartment.

We walked in without knocking as it was Rose's place. Natalia was cooking in the kitchen whilst Andy was in his study talking with another man in a suit whilst surrounded with his bodyguards.

Natalia made us some lemonade whilst we waited for Mr. Burnham to be finished with his talk.
