"I didn't do anything and I don't know what you are talking about the bow just let me use it . I don't know how nor why but you will keep your end of the deal and sell me the set for 6000 silvers. My name is Rose and I just got here 3 days ago so I am just learning who is in this town. My friend Windy showed me to your shop to buy a bow and gear and I promise I am not pulling one over on you ok."
Gem the owner tyres to grab back the bow thinking the enchantment or curse was gone now but found it was still the same for him. Barely liftable and the arrows still felt as if they were a piece of heavy ore the size of a mountain. "Dam how did you do it? He walked to the arrow that had been shot and reached to pick it up when it suddenly lifted and shoot back into the quavel from which it had came from.
How the hell did that happen that was a lost art almost unheard of except from his great grandfathers time. The qualities of this bow were unbelievable how, could he just give it for that ridiculous price to this little girl. Finally after eyeing the situation from all sides he added some new stipulations.
One if she ever decided to get rid of the bow she had to give, him first chance to buy it back, for the same price it was bought for. Secondly from this point on any repairs and enchanted gear would be bought or ordered from him exclusively unless she was out of town or got from a auction.
Finally grumbling under her voice he gave in and sold the treasure for hardly anything to a infected who was doomed to die soon any way. Bah, humbug, good riddens to be rid of that demon cursed bow to a demon cursed lass he would probably never see again. Rose was so happy she played her money and was hurrying out to the woods to get use to it.
Only the last seller in the row managed to catch her arm and pull her into her shop to buy a backpack, belt and a hunters blade used for butchering and skinning. Last but not least she bought a flask to carry water and some hard biscuits and jerky to chew on for when she got hungry.
Rose pulled out her two quests both seemed doable but she had lost half a day already getting her new life started. The first only asked her to collect this very easy to find herb used to keep chickens or bird healthy and laying eggs. It requested her to gather 150 of them for 15 silvers in addition the more gathered of coarse the more one made. It was a lot of tedious work but safe work as well.
Her second quest was a much harder task but now with a bow it would be much easier, this quest wanted her to thin out a area infected with lesser demonic spiders. These spiders were very aggressive and were killing off the indigenous species. They were causing a threat to nearby farms and hunters as well, causing a number of animals and people to be bitten and fall ill. This quest ask for her to collect 50 spider heads no matter what size for a 50 silver reward.
There was a additional reward for killing the matriarch spider for a whopping 500 silvers but she was close to the size of a horse and as wide as a hut. In addition, she would only be found protected by guards inside a nearby cave. She definatly would try for that one the nest was said to be composed of close to 1000 + spiders.
On the way to the spider infected area she was snaching as many herbs as she could. One particular patch took her a hour to finish harvesting and with that she had collected her quota. In addition she found a few that she knew were on the list for alcomist and could get her money as well.
A short time later she saw the first spider webs and nests spotting them she aimed for their adomens their soft spots. The best part for her because she had a irrational fear of spiders was that the arrows returned to the area by her boot clad feet. Wearing thick gloves she stepped on their bodies and then cut their heads off keeping as far from them as possible.
Each time she felt a irrational fear that they would come back to life and attack on their unnatural creepy eight legs of jumping deadly intent. She promised herself that she would never do this kind of quest again unless someone else processed and collected them.
As darkness started to fall she only needed to collect ten more but the ones by the edge of the road she had mostly killed. So shaking the shudders away she enter into the forest itself even knowing they hunted mostly in the dark of night and with webs did not reassure her in any way.
Slowly she creeped forward and found more of what she hunted but these were much bigger and some even needed a second arrow to finish them off. Their bug eyed heads were now roughly the size of her fists, their legs reaching at least two to three feet from one side of their bodies to the other side. Their carpaces were getting thicker requiring her to get closer before firing as well.
Suddenly she stopped, it felt as if she was standing at the edge of great danger. Every hair on her body started to stand on end, sweat beaded on her brow but she stayed motionless. Straining to hear, see, smell, and feel where this danger was coming from she didn't even dare to breath.
Suddenly she felt something land on her back pack and she flung it off and jumped back, setting two arrow fly in rapid succession. Both hit where she was aimming and two larger sized spiders were struck and stuck to a large tree.
She felt euphoria hit her veins right before she thought she would land upon solid ground. A loud snap which was followed by many more, she could only watch in disbelief as she fell into darkness. The small patch of light fell away as webbing wrapped around her body.
