Chapter 15 - Their deaths won't be wasted

A few days passed.

It was something that maid didn't really like, but she no longer mentioned it and just followed her young master's back. As the days passed, the bandit boss managed to recruit around ten new bandits.

These were all farmers or people with similar status.

There were even two experienced hunters who had fought a little against the 'beasts'. The recruitment was simply flawless and the bandit boss felt like he is indeed a blessed with a luck!

However, he didn't know that Vayve was following his steps and every recruit was swayed to his side.

"Do you think the life of a bandit is fair?"

The reason for the villagers to give up their life was solely because of a bad treatment... The bandit boss had a few items related to magic and they could feel that push, that opportunity! These items were weak and only a tad better than normal weapons.

Even so, it was all fine for bandit boss.

He just needed idiots to keep plundering and get all the benefits. If the idiots fall, then he is going to gather the stuff and just create a new group. So what was needed here was that 'push'. A little push that would make them his toys.

But Vayve also had killed a few bandits.

They were mostly using a common equipment, but there were a lucky items that could let out a little magic. Thanks to that, the hunt on the nobles was possible.

"T-this is..."

"Whether a farmer or a bandit, you won't be fairly treated if you keep such lamenting attitude."

"Damnit! I know it, I know, but!"

The man wasn't drunk, so Vayve's words were thoroughly ringing within his mind. He also understood that his choice was stupid, but going against that bandit boss is impossible! He had no return from this choice!

It was simply an appearance of the beast itself of the bandit boss causing him to just give up!

"It's not like you can not feed yourself by living as a farmer, right? Just go back to your former life."

Vayve had already convinced every recruit he has faced to return to a good side. He was quite pushy with this one after so many successful tries. That's why, before the man could take a weapon from his small hand, Vayve opened his mouth yet again.

"As a farmer, you can complain as much as you want. But as a bandit, your boss surely won't like such attitude."

"!"

The weapon got grabbed so fast Vayve blinked his eyes few times.

-

The bandit boss!

He was within his main camp! This camp had many people here throughout the years, but it was obvious that the old faces never ever will appear here! Except the boss' scary one!

The recruitment of the pitiful villagers went smoothly and the boss was waiting for their appearance. He had to limit himself as during the last attack, more than half equipment has been lost.

Anyway, all he had to do was just stop himself from attacking a nobles and just limit his group to a common villages.

Furthermore, the farmers surely have a lot of friends with the same profession.

Thus, they should know their usual routes and the dates of their trips to the city to sell the goods. This is going to be their first attack which will bring a food supply! It will also show their potential...

"Where are they? Haannn~~"

The boss yawned, then focused his eyes on the small bonfire. The life of a bandit boss is sure lonely, but in order to change that, he would need to join a stronger groups... He had that potential, but losing a freedom and voice was not suiting him up.

That's for sure.

The old dude took out a strange coin which was red. It was rather deep red which made a coin look as if coated in an old blood... A coin also had some strange engravings that should tell one about its identity and origins, but only boss knew about it!

"Boss, we are here!"

"Sorry for being late! It was hard to leave mommy!"

"..."

The boss hid the coin within his pocket, then glanced at the new recruits. They were all stupid and naive, but it was all fine. He gestured them to sit down near the bonfire and began asking the questions he thought about not too long ago.

As the first target became clear, the bandit boss naturally stood up to perform some simple training.

Except two hunters who were experienced with a weapons, the rest were normal villagers whose hands only held the weak and common equipment.

"Trash! I told you how to hold a knife already!"

"I-I am sorry!"

The new recruits were way too scared of him! The fear was fine as it could set up the hierarchy within the group, but the bandit boss had a strange feeling himself. As if the source of their fear was not him, but something else.

It was hard to tell, so he just closed up the distance and properly put the knife on the young man's hand.

At this moment, the young man did a turnaround!

He threw himself forward with a clear intent to kill him!

"What are you doing?"

The bandit boss' instincts didn't betray him though! He grabbed the waist of a foolish farmer, then glared at him with his menacing eyes! It was so scary for the former farmer that he nearly pissed himself, but he knew he ain't alone.

Soon enough, everyone else pointed their weapons and the boss.

"Hoh, I see. So you all somehow have teamed up. All of you, from the different villages... I see, I see."

His eyes turned into a beast like eyes! Before everyone could throw themselves at him, the boss made a first move which gave him a little advantage. The knife in his hand was as if the most deadliest weapon as he slashed it through the necks of pitiful farmers.

And then, their bodies became a shield as he got that room for himself.

-

"Ah, I told them to move fast and decisively."

"It's a fear, young master... In front of a strong person whose body is soaked in a killing intent, everyone who had yet to taste the blood... becomes someone similar to a pitiful lamb."

"..."

Vayve and his maid were not too far away, their eyes looking at the bandit boss' closely. The eyes that turned into a beast like eyes... Was it a killing intent? Vayve believed so! It was as if a human turned into a beast raising his instincts to the maximum!

"Their work won't be wasted...."

It was hard to say these words, but Vayve did his best to mutter off that decisiveness.

"The boss will be weakened, so their deaths.. won't be wasted..."

"Yes, young master. It's all fine."

Reassured by his maid, Vayve's eyes continued to hover on the bandit boss who was becoming more like that beast. His young heart was thumping hard as the time to face the boss was coming closer.
