Josh and Paul were sitting by the grill, drinking beer, when I saw her come onto the deck, I looked away when I saw her study me. She then took a seat by Josh. I looked at her. she was actually really pretty. Chestnut hair, beautiful bright green eyes, her bottom lip was fuller than her upper lip, she must be a good kisser. such a shame such beauty will be gone by tonight. Paul looked at me and nodded. Giving me the signal to start the plan. I got up from my seat, and walked to the stairs leading to the cabins. when I got to the bottom of the steps, I stomped on the floor to make a loud bang. I shouted "AHHH FUCK, MY LEG" and as I planned, Josh came running down the steps, I jumped in front of him and slit his throat with my pocket knife. He didn't scream. Just stood there, eyes wide open, mouth gaping, holding his neck as the blood streamed from the cut. It was actually really satisfying. He slumped to the floor. I up to the deck to wash my hands.
As I came out of the bathroom, I saw Melina running to me sobbing. Her shirt was torn, she stopped and hugged me. She whimpered "Jake, help me, he is crazy!!" she looked up at me. her beautiful green eyes filled with tears. I don't know what is was, if it was the way she said my name so lovely, or the fact that I couldn't kill a woman, but I suddenly felt the need to protect her from all things dangerous. I held her tightly. She was so tiny, so fragile in my muscled arms. The way she looked at me made me feel a way that I haven't felt for a long time. "I will protect you Melina" I said soothingly into her ear. I pulled her closer to me, if that were even possible, she just sobbed into my shirt. I heard Paul yelling out "Come on out Mel, you can't hide. If you come out now I will make your death quick" I took Melinas hand and led her to a supply closet. I told her, don't come out till I knock on the door 6 times. She whispered "okay, be careful" this beautiful creature would hate me if she knew what I did to her best friend. I yelled out "Paul, get over here" I heard his footsteps getting closer around the corner.
