Dante's POV:
I tied the boat to the dock, finally arriving in England with Richardo, Paris, Val, and Victor- and that stow away of ours. I stretched before I looked on board and saw Laura helping the others off the ship. "We're going to need to get horses," Victor said calmly then looked at me as he got off the plank leading up onto the ship. "We can't walk to his castle... and I'm not interested in teleporting. That's no fun. We'll get a carriage or two." Richardo tensed then before he looked down at the ground as he got onto the dock.
"Titania is still with that man," he muttered then clenched his fists.
"Heinrich?" I asked him and raised an eyebrow. You've got to be kidding me. Is he crying over a horse or something he rode in Europe? "Get over it, Richardo. It's just a horse. We'll get you a new one. Your old horse will enjoy staying in Europe where it's familiar with its surroundings... and after having been ridden everywhere by you, it needs a break from traveling long distances." Victor smirked then.
"We could always... steal the horses. It's been awhile since we've had blood other than Laura's. We could eat the horse tender," he suggested. Laura held onto Val's hand tightly, watching the rest of us.
"Wait... so we're getting extra humans to feed us on the way to Laurence's castle which we have no clue where to find- does anyone know where to find his castle? Because I've never been in England but a few times, and I didn't sit on top of the carriage watching where we were going." Val told us, and I felt the wind pick up before a faint scent of home cooking hit us from the streets of England. We might need to somehow ask for someone to take us up there. "A witch might help us to his castle," Val suggested.
"We don't need a witch. I know where it is," Paris said calmly. I looked at him and frowned.
"How do you know where Laurence's castle is?" I asked him then crossed my arms. "You're not even a king...."
"Because I have a guide that'll lead us," he said calmly and shrugged. He started to scratch his shoulders before heading towards the town. "There's a place we can buy horses and carriages nearby as well as hire a few horse tenders." He glanced over his shoulder at us. Victor laughed then followed him quickly. I frowned slightly. A guide? What does he mean by that? I followed slowly, watching as Richardo was by his side instantly, walking next to him. After a little fifteen-minute walk, he led us up to a huge barn full of horses. There were carriages sitting outside along with some handsome young men along with women. An old man walked up to us and glanced us over before spitting at the ground.
"I take it you'll be needing horses?" He asked us.
"Two carriages will do nicely- three at most," Val told him and gave a smile.
"Three. Three carriages, three men. Richard," Paris whispered and turned to him. "Do you happen to have any more gold on you?" He asked quietly. Richardo nodded and pulled out some gold before he handed it to Paris.
"Of course," he purred softly to Paris. "I still have another bag full of coins." They could've just asked me. I frowned a bit before I looked around then started to wander. Three good carriages give us at least six horses.
"Go take your picks," the old man said as he got the gold from Paris. He pointed behind him at the barn. "If you need anything else, I'll be waiting here." He laughed and turned to a woman. "I've got some gold!" He walked up to her and showed it off. Paris laughed softly and walked up to the carriages to take a look. I heard a horse coming up then at a fast speed before it came to a halt and someone climbed off quickly.
"What's this? We're in business without me being around?" I heard a spunky voice ask playfully from behind me. "It's a good thing I just got back from the duchess~! She said she wants a different horse. Apparently, she thinks black horses are like black cats." I glanced behind me and laughed a little. That's absurd... black horses being like black cats. I looked towards the man who climbed off the horse and looked him over. The spunky guy was lanky skinny, a face full of girlish features. He didn't have a beard or a mustache. His hair was cut strangely for the time- a nice long nose length in the front and cut extremely short in the back. He had a straight jaw and pale skin. His eyelashes were extremely long to be for a male. His hair reminded me of a dark chocolate while his eyes were a gleam of brown and black together that reflected very much like a tiger eye. He turned to me- his whole body was visibly turning in his tight clothes. He was proudly showing off his body and had a nice fit tone to him. He had a tight riding coat on that reminded me of a trench coat's top half that was clinging to his body tightly. His pants were as tight with knee high boots. He even had a switch in his hand but he stuck it in his boot and gave us a huge smile. "My name is Reuben Davis," he told us and looked towards Paris. "I love your hair." I widened my eyes slightly at the sight of him. He was beautiful- gorgeous... extremely gorgeous for a male. I couldn't take my eyes off him.... I felt something pulse in my chest, making me jump slightly from the suddency, and I managed to tear my eyes off him in that instant, looking down at my chest in a panic as I touched it. Was that... my stone? Can they do that? It's about where Paris... dug his hand in. I looked back up at Reuben and watched him curiously, finding myself strangely wanting to go near him. I tensed as I caught his scent then heard a soft moan escape my lips, causing me to blush, and I quickly turned away, starting to walk over to the carriages. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME?! Is it because I've only been feeding off Laura or something? I shouldn't lose it like that... much less be staring at some guy.... Damn, he was hot. I heard his feet running up to me then.
"About to look at some carriages?" He asked me and laughed softly. "Want some advice?" He took my hand and pulled me up to a nice rooftop one. "This one is my favorite. We have six in all. This model is roomy inside and nice for long trips." He hit the roof with his hand and opened the door to show me the inside. "Nice room on the inside for placing your feet up and napping." I could catch the sweet aroma of honey suckles mixed with a jasmine and tea leaves. He was girly smelling. I felt myself leaning in towards him slightly before I caught myself, my fangs starting to ache in hunger.
"You mind if you show me how roomy it would be with at least two people in it?" I asked him then smirked, looking him over. He grabbed my hand and dragged me over here.... He smiled huge before stepping inside.
"Now if it was just two people our size~" He told me and sat down, patting the seat. "This would be manageable. Don't you agree?" He chuckled and placed his feet up on the seat across. "Come inside and have a look. There are curtains to draw the sunlight away for more privacy. Come see how dark it can get." He's brave.... I purred slightly before I glanced around then looked back at him. Is this really... something I want to do though? I climbed inside the carriage then shut the door before I drew the curtains and glanced around.
"Yes, it does get quite dark," I purred out then looked at him. If I bite him... he might scream... or someone might see. Those older people might see a bite mark... or he might try to tell someone. I found myself already leaned over though, my face in the crook of his neck as a small moan escaped me from his scent. My fangs exposed instinctively, and I bit down into him before I could question it further, my hand finding its way to his mouth and clamping down over it as I drank from him. He let out a scream and started to try to yank away from me. I felt his hand wander down to his boot as he grabbed the switch and tried to lash me with it- in hopes to get me off and free him. I yelped slightly and pulled back from his neck with wide eyes. I can't believe I bit him... but he tasted so good too.... I licked his blood off my lips and purred before I eyed his neck down and leaned in, giving it a small lick to catch the blood dripping down his sweet neck. "Don't be frightened," I murmured into his ear as I cleaned his neck up gently. "I'm not killing you." I could hear his heart racing in his chest. He gave me a frightened look and tried to move away from me. I moved my face back from his neck then to let him relax and then looked him in the eyes. He's so... so hot. Hot? Is that right? Is that even a word to describe someone- Why am I even looking at him like this?! He's a guy! He's human! "R-Reuben, right?" I asked him then removed my hand from his mouth slowly. "Don't scream. If you scream, it'll be bad for everyone. I'm not going to kill you, so don't be afraid. No one else is going to get hurt here either. We're here to buy carriages, get some horses, and maybe a horse tender, and leave," I explained then moved back a couple of inches to give him space. "We're trying to get to a friend of ours." He looked me over before he started for the carriage of the door again- managing to make it out and started running for it. I frowned then got out and shut the carriage door. He's such an idiot. I eyed him down before I walked over to Victor calmly, watching Reuben out of the corner of my eyes to make sure he wasn't going to tell someone. I'd have to do something if he did. "Victor, we need to hurry up and get out of here," I muttered as I reached him. He looked back at me and frowned.
"Why- Oh. you bit him, didn't you?" He purred at me. "I thought that was long for being in the carriage with him. Alright, let's go tell the others to hurry up before they get their pitchforks and try to kill us and string us up because you didn't kill him and left him alive." He grabbed my hand then and smirked before he dragged me over to Val. "Val, we've got to hurry up. The king over here bit and didn't kill." Reuben ran off into the barn suddenly- his feet stopped shortly once he was inside.
"Oh, someone has a taste for men," Val teased me and walked towards the barn. "Well Paris and Richardo are inside picking horses out- come on." She told us in amusement. I frowned but followed her into the barn, glancing for Reuben as we went in. Victor laughed at me and looked back at me with a smirk.
"What? Are you that worried?" He purred quietly at me as I spotted Reuben. He looked towards me as he was bandaging up his neck and stumbled into a stack of hay and the bandages he was holding went everywhere. He took off running out the back entrance quickly.
"What's the matter with Reuben?" Paris asked us in amusement. "Did he see a wolf?"
"He saw this wolf," Victor purred at Paris. "Dante bit him. We better hurry up." I frowned and started for the back entrance to go check on him. He's definitely still afraid, even though he's out of my grasp.... I caught up to him then grabbed him and pinned him up against the back of the barn out of sight then looked him in the eyes.
"Reuben," I purred softly. "You need to calm down." I gently started to bandage up his neck then for him. "I'm not going to hurt you even if I'm not like you. I shouldn't have bit you in the first place, not like that at least. I couldn't help myself. You smelled so good to me...." I heard him let out a shaky breath and pushed on my chest to distance us.
"You're a monster," he said softly and looked me over in fear. "How do I know you're not here to eat the whole town?" He asked and started to panic a little and slid down the side of the barn slowly and held his neck where I had bandaged it. "We have monsters like you here already- terrorizing the town and draining some of us of blood. Am I dead?"
"No, you're not dead," I told him calmly then knelt in front of him. "We're not here to terrorize your town or drain it. We're trying to find a friend further in England. He invited us here because we're with some refugees that are running from their parents," I explained. "We're just going to buy carriages and horses and be on our way out of here. I'm not going to kill you either. I have no reason to kill you... or the others here. I'm a vampire king from Germany. I have plenty of human's back home who feed me willingly. You can come with us though... if you'd like. We do need someone who knows how to care for horses... and we're going to see the vampire king of England. Wouldn't that be a nice sight for you?" I purred then gave him a small smirk. Yeah, I'll offer it that way I can take him with, and he won't scream his little head off at the other humans around here. I'll have to pass back through here, and I don't need pitchforks waiting on me when I get back. "Would you like to see a castle? I'll pay you for taking care of the horses."
"How much?" He asked softly and looked towards the ground instead of at my face. "How much would you pay me?"
"I'd pay you in gold... three gold coins a day," I told him and frowned slightly. "If you don't want to see a castle, you can tell me no. I'm not forcing you to come with me. This is just a simple offer." And me ensuring a safe return to my ship.
"T-three?" He asked me and thought it over. "You- you wouldn't kill me?" He asked softly.
"No... no one will kill you," I told him and watched him. "I'll make sure no one bites you either. You'll be safe. Come with me," I purred and reached out a hand for his.
"If you bite me again?" He asked and looked towards my hand.
"Then I'll raise your pay for that day by two coins. You'll get five if I bite you that day," I said softly. "I'll do my best not to bite you. If I do bite you, I won't kill you." He looked hesitant but took my hand slowly.
"Okay," he whispered and looked me over. "You have a deal." I smiled then before I pulled him closer to me then went back to bandaging his neck for him.
"You can ride in my carriage if you'd like that way the others don't bite you," I told him and looked him in the eyes as I finished his bandage. He blushed but nodded.
"I'll ride there then.... with you. At least we know it'll be comfortable. Can I have a payment in advance?" He asked curiously. I thought it over then nodded.
"Yes, you can have today's payment," I said then handed him five gold coins. "There's five because I bit you." I smirked then. "Are you going to spend it on something before we leave, or are you just wanting to hold onto it?"
"I was going to spend it," he admitted and looked down at the coins. "What time are you planning to leave?" He asked.
"In an hour," I purred then got to my feet, pulling him to his. "What are you spending it on?" I asked curiously. Maybe he's getting food or something for himself.... Oh, we should get some more food for Laura. "I think I'll go with you. We need to get some food for Laura. She needs to eat like you."
"I was going to get some food- Laura? You have a human traveling with you?" He asked curiously. "So, is she the only one?" He slowly started for the inside of the barn to go back through it and get on a street heading to town. "I'll get extra food for two then."
"No... I'll buy your food and her food. Spend the money on something else for yourself," I purred to him. "The traveling expenses and food and water will be taken care of by me," I promised. "I didn't pay you for you to go spend your money on something essential to the trip. I wouldn't be a good employer if I made you pay for yourself like that." I'd rather him spend the money on maybe making the barn better... or making his personal life better. He sighed but nodded.
"Okay. I'll save it then," he said thoughtfully and stuck the coins inside his boot.
"You'll need to pack some clothes as well," I purred at him then smirked. "You know... I might buy you a new outfit to meet the vampire king of England in." I grabbed his hand then brought him closer to me as we left the barn and went towards town. I let his hand go before I looked at him. "Laura is the only other human in my group," I whispered to him. "Watch the others. They might try to bite you, and if they do, then you can scream for me. You can call me Dante."
"I don't have other clothes," he admitted. "It's just these and my night clothes I sleep with." He looked me over. "I can buy my own clothes." I looked at him then nodded.
"Alright, you may buy your own clothes," I purred. "Though you do look great in those...." I tensed as it slipped from me, and I tore my eyes away from him quickly to avoid looking at him. "I'm sure you must have a girl that likes you by now," I hummed out. "You should save what I give you for a good marriage."
"Marriage?" He asked. "I don't like any of the girls in town. They won't want a stables boy anyways. I'm better off trying to marry one of the older women that's a widow. At least when they die, I get a house alone and don't get questioned about my lack of a wife. I can just smooth it off with being in mourning." I frowned and looked back at him.
"Really? That's depressing," I told him then smirked. I could just take him with me.... No one would ever notice except those old people back at the barn. "Maybe you should come with me permanently and tend to my horses back in Germany. I could use a good horse tender. I'd pay you still, and you'd have a nice place to sleep," I purred then looked him over. I could turn him into a newborn for myself.... "Hell, I could turn you into a vampire," I whispered in his ear. "You could journey with me for as long as you'd like."
"With you?" He asked and looked me over. "Would it even be safe to live with you? I'm human... and if you turn me into something like you.... That's a long time being your... your horse tender. I love horses... but would my soul be eternally damned?" He asked and rubbed at his chest. "Heaven always sounds so pretty when the elders talk about it." I laughed then.
"How should they know what heaven looks like? They haven't died, have they? I haven't died either, so who's to know who is eternally damned and who is not? With eternity for life, why even worry about the afterlife," I asked him and smirked. "It does not matter to those who live forever here. You wouldn't always be my horse tender. If you became my newborn, I wouldn't make you tend to my horses. You'd be more of a companion and travel with me. You'd be able to play with the horses and care for them if you wanted to, but I wouldn't make you. We'd be friends," I purred to him. "You'd live with me for no particular reason except for that I'd have turned you. You would live comfortably too. You wouldn't have to worry about your life being cut short or what others think about you. You'd be a king's newborn and be pampered as one. You wouldn't have to worry about the others feeding from you either- not like they do with Laura. You'd be another vampire to them, and they don't tend to bite other vampires unless they really want to," I purred then looked around, making sure no one was nearby before I looked back at him. "It'd ensure your safety more... and I'd be there to teach you, guide you. You don't have to kill your prey, and you could feed off my servants at my castle. They willingly offer their blood to vampires and rather like it when they are fed from." I stopped us then and looked down into his eyes. "This may be too much for you to consider right now... but I want you to know that you have that option- to follow me forever if you wanted. You would be well cared for.... You don't have to answer right now, but you can tell me anytime on this journey if you want to become like me, and I'll turn you." I gently touched his neck then and gave him a kind smile. "Forever is a long time... so think hard about my offer. You have till we return to this area to tell me your answer before I leave forever and take the offer with me." He looked into my eyes curiously before nodding.
"I'll keep it in mind," he told me softly. I nodded before I laughed.
"You are taking all this a lot easier than before," I purred at him then smirked at him. "That's good. I won't have to chase you down from you running away again." I started to walk with him again. "Would you like a few sweets to go on the trip with us? I don't mind buying you a treat or two." I think I will turn him.... He'd make a great vampire... and I would like to have him around. He smells so sweet.... I purred at the thought before I looked down at him. I'll wait till tomorrow before I suggest it again and make my move. We'll be out of town... and he'll be in a carriage with me. "We'll get Laura something sweet too. Val has taken to her. I think she plans on turning her and keeping her around."
"Really?" He asked. "Laura will be a vampire..." He trailed off in thought before taking me into a bakery. He glanced around at the breads in awe. I glanced around before I headed towards the front and looked over a few small pastries for the two humans then paid for a few loaves of bread to get us to the next few towns over and then got four small cakes to take with us- two for each. I looked over at him then handed him the cakes before I carried the breads out then whistled as I headed for a fruit seller and picked out some for them and carried the food over to a butcher and purchased some treated, dried meat that wouldn't go bad. I looked at him then smirked. "Let's get you another outfit, shall we?" I purred then took all the food from him and started for a tailor's place across the street. He followed after me nervously.
"Listen, we don't have to buy something new for me. I don't mind, really. I like my clothes on me just fine. Extra clothes will weigh us down." I paused then glanced back at him.
"Are you sure? One new outfit won't kill us," I told him then looked him in the eyes. "I'm not concerned about whether or not the outfit takes up space." He looked hesitant before nodding.
"Just one," he said calmly and lead me inside the tailor's shop and glanced around cautiously.
"REUBEN!" I heard a girl squeal before she tackled him to the ground. "Finally! You came and visited me! It's been like three years. Your clothes are too tight on you too-"
"I like their reassuring tightness," he grumbled to her. She pulled away from him and yanked him up to their feet.
"Well this time I'm going to give you more room to grow in-"
"You better not stab me with needles this time-"
"What's wrong with your neck!? Did a horse bite you?"
"No-" She shut him up as she started to measure him.
"This is the town's tailor's daughter," Reuben told me. "Meredith." He glanced her over in annoyance as he held out his arms so she could measure them. I frowned then and watched the two as I shifted the food in my arms.
"And you say there are no girls who like stable boys," I muttered to him. I should leave him here.... It looks like Meredith likes him. He's just dense in the head. I shouldn't turn him if he's got someone here who would miss him more than those people back at the stables....
"She treats everyone like this," he grumbled low. She smacked his chest hard.
"I do not, just the boys I like-"
"That's every boy in town- OWE!" He yelped as she got him with a needle. "Why'd you do that?"
"Because I find it amusing. I think I have something already made for your size." She walked off towards a wall of clothes then and looked around at the numbers on a piece of paper sitting next to them. She looked back at him before grabbing a stack of different styled clothes and brought them to him. "These are around your size." He looked at her with a small glare before he took the stack and started to go through them. I sighed. I think I will leave him here... when I return to this area.
"Reuben," I whispered softly. "I think I will leave you here... when we come back through for me to go back to Germany." I eyed the two of them over before I looked around at her works.
"What? You mean you're not going to give me the chance to think about my options?" He asked and frowned. "Why'd you even offer?" He gave me a hurt look before looked at her and picked up an outfit, opening it up to see what it would look like. I frowned and looked back at him.
"I offered because I thought you wouldn't be missed," I told him then walked up and looked at the outfit. "I see now though that you would be missed from here if I took you back with me." I looked over at Meredith then before I looked back at him. "You could have Meredith if you wanted," I whispered into his ear then. He busted out laughing before shaking his head no.
"I don't want her," he whispered back at me. He took the clothes towards a room set up for him to change in and stepped inside- shutting himself off from us. He came out after a few minutes in his new outfit. She gave him a smile before bringing him a set of shoes.
"Nines, I remembered- unless your feet grew-" She eyed over his feet.
"They didn't," he told her and took the shoes, looking them over. "I'll buy this with the shoes-" He stepped back into the room and shut the door. She watched the door before bouncing off to a piece of paper and scribbled something onto it. He came back in his previous outfit and had the clothes and shoes in his hands. He brought them to her and sat them down. "Just put these down," he told her and looked around the room before eyeing the door down. He placed a few coins on the desk. She gasped as she saw the gold before taking the pieces and put them away. She wrapped up his clothes and handed them back to him.
"Try to keep those clean," she told him. He laughed a little before walking up to me and yanked me out of the building. I looked down at him curiously then before I looked back at the building before, I laughed softly then looked back at him.
"Well, if you're not interested in her, then my offer still stands," I purred to him then smirked. "I'll turn you if you'd like." I gave a playful growl before I started to lead him back towards the stables.
"I don't know if I should stay with you. You can't stop changing your mind about offering me to join you or not. I don't want to wake up dead one day with no recollection of how it happened except someone named Dante." He grumbled. I laughed and looked back at him.
"You're not going to be dead," I told him then winked. "You'll wake up turned. No, I'm done changing my mind about my offer. You'll just tell everyone I offered you a good job overseas, and we'll take you away like that."
"I don't have to answer to anyone," he told me and then frowned a bit. "Except my boss. I'd have to tell him. Otherwise, I can freely come and go as I please." I nodded then looked him in the eyes.
"I might turn you on the trip up to the castle," I whispered to him. "Would you mind if I did?"
"Yes, I would mind," he hissed. "I don't want my soul to be damned," he grumbled. "At least that's what I think now. I'm still thinking about it."
"It wouldn't matter," I told him then smirked. "You'd live forever anyways." Unless, of course, he died... and then he'd need to worry. "Besides, who's to say what the afterlife looks like anyways?"
"That's for me to decide though, isn't it? The afterlife is still mine to think about." He led me up to where there were three carriages with six horses and a few extras waiting for us.
"I got a few to have just in case we wanted to go ahead and check for roadblocks- fallen trees," Paris told us as he saw us walk up. "We'll put you and victor in the third carriage. Val and Laura in the second, and I'll be with Richard in the first. We got a few extra humans to help us on our travel since they know the lands and have traveled through these lands. Is Reuben coming with us?"
"Yes, Reuben is coming with us," I purred to Paris. "I want him with me and Victor."
"Then that's settled. We got everything settled. Let's load up and get a move on. Laurence is expecting us after all." Paris turned to Richardo and gave him a smile. Richardo purred then and moved Paris into the first carriage, drawing the blinds shut. Well... they're going to have fun in there together. I laughed then pulled Reuben towards the last carriage then put the food inside before I grabbed his shoulders.
"Go get your night clothes," I told him then looked him in the eyes. "If there is anything else you want, get it while you're here. We might not return to the stables," I purred then let him go before I grabbed some bread and two small cakes. I took them to Val and handed them over. "That's for Laura to eat. I have some meat she can have later along with fruit."
"Thanks Dante," Val purred out and handed them to Laura. "Here, this is for you." I could hear Reuben running off towards a house just next to the barn. After a few minutes he came running back with a small bag of his things and placed it in our carriage's storage compartment. I smirked then looked at Val before I winked then went back to my carriage and climbed inside with him, getting beside him as Victor got in across from us. I shut the door then stretched out happily as the carriages started to move.
"So~ Victor, no biting Reuben, okay?" I told him and smirked. "He's mine." Reuben glanced around for a few seconds before smiling at Victor.
"So where are you from?" He asked and eyed us over before looking at Victor. "Let me guess... someplace cold for you," he said and pointed him over. Victor laughed then.
"I'm the vampire prince of Russia," he purred out then exposed his fangs at Reuben, giving me a playful look. I narrowed my eyes then put my arm around Reuben's shoulders, pulling him close protectively. Reuben looked me over before looking towards Victor.
"You're both royal?" He asked curiously. "That's amazing... for me.... I'm in a carriage with two royals from different countries." He took my hand and made me unwrap it from his shoulders. I looked at him and frowned slightly.
"Paris, Richardo, and Val are all royals too," I told him softly then looked at Victor, giving him a warning look. He laughed at me before he pulled out some vodka and took a sip of it then offered it to Reuben.
"Reuben, would you like a sip?" He asked him with a smirk, eyeing him down. He better not be doing what I think he's doing. Reuben looked the vodka over before nodding and took a sip of it- looking pleased at the taste. He gave the bottle back and smirked.
"You two want to play a card game?" He asked. "Victor, if you'll please lift your legs up, I'll show you a trick." Victor raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?" He lifted his legs then and gave Reuben a curious look. "I wouldn't mind a card game." Reuben leaned over and yanked the board up from the other side of the seat's baseboard and lifted it into a table that came out easily and was about to our stomach in height. There was another baseboard under that was the real one to keep the seat stable. He reached under the table and pulled out a small drawer that had some fun games in it- dice, cards, chess, and pieces of paper with ink and feathers to help us keep scores. He grabbed the cards and put the drawer back before handing Victor the cards.
"You shuffle and pick the game," Reuben suggested. "You can place your feet down now but be careful to not knock the table and break it from its hinges. We had a special woodcrafter and black smith make it." He smiled softly. Victor nodded then put his legs back down before he purred.
"Let's play Spades," he suggested and started to shuffle. I frowned and watched with interest, looking the table over. Reuben watched me and laughed a little.
"England is getting swifter in making useful things, huh?" Reuben asked me.
"Germany needs to catch up," I muttered then looked over at him. I looked him in the eyes then purred before I found myself leaning over slightly towards him, smelling his scent. "Please come back to Germany with me," I asked him softly. Victor eyed the two of us over then looked at the cards.
"So... are you into boys like Richardo and Paris?" He asked me calmly, making me blush. "You're following him around and looking at him strangely like he's your soul mate." Reuben glanced at me before looking at Victor.
"I didn't know soul mates were real too," Reuben said softly. "I thought mothers told their kids that to give them something to dream about in their sleep besides monsters."
"Oh no... soul mates are real," Victor purred and smirked at the two of us. "Vampires can find theirs easily. It's something about the person they see that tells them... whether it's the scent... a pull... or something else entirely. You just find yourself attracted to them, and there's no explaining it except two words: soul mate." He eyed me down then. "That's why you bite him, wasn't it-"
"Victor," I mumbled and looked at him, my heart speeding up. I didn't even think about him being my soul mate.... He smells so good though. It's hard to resist him, but Victor seems okay with his scent. Is Reuben really supposed to be my soul mate? Am I mated to a male just like Richardo?
"But... Males can't be soul mates... Not instinctually to mate at least," Reuben laughed out. "Maybe as friends."
"No... that's not true," Victor purred and smirked at Reuben. "Paris and Richardo- the two who got into the first carriage- are romantically involved soul mates. They've already mated from what Dante tells me." I sunk down into my seat then and frowned.
"Hey, I only know because Paris put it in his journal," I muttered.
"So... are you two soul mates, or do you just like him as a horse tender?" Victor asked me curiously and started to deal cards out to us.
"W-well, I am attracted to his scent," I mumbled and blushed before I looked away. "I don't know, Victor. I'm not sure.... I never thought about being with a male."
"Does that matter?" Victor hummed out. "You're okay with Paris and Richardo being together."
"That's different. They're not me," I told him quickly.
"So?" He raised an eyebrow at me then smirked. "If he's your soul mate, you should fight for him just like Paris and Richardo are doing for each other. That's the whole reason we're going to wage war, isn't it? So soul mates can be together no matter what? If he's your soul mate, he could make you very happy in your life. After all, fate meant for you two to be together if you're truly soul mates," he purred out. "I'd start riding with Val if you two are- give you the carriage to yourself so you can get to know him without my presence interfering. Human lives are so... short. You should turn him before he gets away from you."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you can't leave me alone in a carriage with him," Reuben said quickly. "No- I won't allow that. I'll just walk with the carriages if you're wanting to do something like that. He bit me the last time we were alone in here. Bit me!" Reuben looked at me quickly. "You're going to be the death of me," he said quickly and looked me over. "So, you're not going to be alone with me." I frowned at him.
"I'm not going to kill you," I told him and shook my head. "I've already told you this. Besides, if I do bite you, I owe you two more gold coins on your pay," I muttered then looked away from him and at my cards, picking them up.
"I'll stay," Victor purred out and grinned. "Too bad if he is your mate, Dante. He wants me to stay." He picked up his cards and looked them over. He needs to be quiet.... I kicked him lightly under the table then sighed, doing my best to ignore the two of them as Victor laughed at me. Reuben picked up his cards and shuffled them around to order them. He glanced at me then.
"You're left to the dealer." I nodded then started the game for us as I stayed quiet.
"So, Reuben... was it just the pay that attracted you to this job?" Victor hummed out. "It sounds like Dante is paying you well."
"He said three coins a day and two if he bites me. I think it's fair enough," Reuben told him as he played his turn. "You never get a chance like this to see the world. Not for a modern person. I think this was something I couldn't refuse."
"Hmm..." Victor played his turn then. I frowned and quickly laid down a card.
"Victor," I muttered, catching him eyeing me down.
"What? You're grumpy now that you've been questioned and now that Reuben doesn't want to be alone with you? That's your own fault for biting him and caring whether he's pleased," he hummed out to me. "If you were going to bite him like that, you should have been prepared to not care what he wanted. Now you're stuck not knowing anything about who he is, and there's no way he's going to let you get close to him. He's human, and even if you do turn him, he'll keep his human opinions. Not everyone is Paris and Richardo, and you're not either, or he isn't. Humans rarely ever consider being with the same sex. Vampires are forbidden to. They think about Heaven and Hell daily, and to them, if you two were mates, they'd say he's damned to Hell, and the Devil got ahold of him because you're both males-"
"Victor, stop," I told him firmly and frowned at him. "I never said we were mates. I never said that I was interested in him that way. He's here because I'm paying him to be here to take care of the horses. Reuben, it's your turn." Victor frowned at me then but got quiet for a few moments. Reuben watched us before making his turn.
"You can't just assume everything about me," Reuben said softly. "You can't group me with the rest of the humans. Just like I can't do the same with you and vampires. Otherwise... I might as well build a stake right now and find a pitchfork." Victor laughed a little then before he looked at Reuben.
"That's true too," he purred at him then made his turn. "Then tell us what you think about it." I blushed lightly then. Victor is still messing with it....
"It's none of your business," Reuben said calmly and smirked. "That's what I think about it." Victor smirked then.
"Awww, you're no fun," he purred at Reuben. I frowned slightly then made my turn before I looked over at Reuben.
"So, Reuben, have you liked horses all your life?" I asked him softly, changing the topic. He took his turn before glancing at me.
"Ever since I can remember. My dad kept horses- he had a farm." He shrugged and gave me a smile. "My mom died of childbirth and my dad..." he shrugged. "Death too. I guess humans don't live that long sometimes. I was maybe ten... I had to move to town with some relatives. They moved.... I stayed. That's my life story." I nodded then before I frowned slightly. So... he's an orphan.
"You seem to be doing quite well for yourself," I told him then smiled back softly. "No wonder though... why you were willing to come with me. You don't have anything really tying you down, do you?" I purred softly. "You seem to be great with the horses too. They were in good conditions from what I saw- happy and whatnot." I watched as Victor made his turn, humming to himself. I made my turn then and looked back at Reuben with a purr. "You should come back with me to Germany. You'd like it there at my castle. You could play with my horses all day if you desired. I have about five horses at my home." I leaned back in my seat then before I looked him over. "They'd be delighted to meet you."
"Germany," he mumbled. "That's a whole new country. I wouldn't know a single person there besides you." He made his turn and smiled.
"You'd know Victor. He visits me frequently," I told him and purred. "The beauty of going with me is you'd meet lots of new people." I leaned over then and smirked. "You should let me turn you. I wouldn't mind keeping you as my newborn." Victor made his turn and smirked at the two of us. Reuben looked me over before frowning.
"Me a vampire?" He asked and looked at the cards we've already sat down. "I'll consider it," he whispered.
"You'd enjoy it," I promised then sat down my card with a smirk. "Trust me, there's a lot more to being a vampire than drinking blood." I leaned in towards his neck and gave a playful growl. He moved away quickly and took his turn.
"I'll think about it," he told me and pressed his fingers against my chest. I frowned a little then exposed my fangs before I took his hands in mine, making him drop the cards as I moved closer to him and edged the bandages off with my fangs. I looked at his exposed skin then moaned at his scent before I bit down quickly into him, purring loudly. My venom edged its way into his system, marking him accidentally as I lost myself in the bite, moving into his lap. He moaned softly, and I could hear his head hit the wall as he relaxed on me. I could feel his hands reaching for my shirt and gripped it. I leaned my face further into his neck then, pushing my fangs in a little more as I ran my fingers down to his hands and lightly held them to my chest as I drank from him. He liked it this time.... I felt my heart speed up slightly before I gave him more of my venom, trying it out myself this time. I felt his skin start to get sweaty as he grew aroused.
"Dante," he mumbled. "What've you done to me?" I tensed a little before I pulled back from the bite slightly and looked at him then licked his neck. He tastes so good....
"I'm going... to go sit with the driver," Victor mumbled and slowly got up, putting the table away and then climbed out of the moving carriage and closed the door as he moved to the front of the carriage. I frowned slightly and looked after him but went back to Reuben, biting back in with a moan. I tightened my grip slightly on his hands before I purred and slowly laid us back on the seat. I'll turn him since how we're alone.... He let out a small groan as he felt his back hit a soft surface.
"Does this mean I'm getting two coins again?" He asked in a small voice as he grew dizzy. He shut his eyes and seemed to be falling asleep. Yeah... I'll owe him two more coins after this. I gently laid his hands back down at his sides and started to finish him off before I sat up and looked down at his almost lifeless body. I brought my wrist to my lips then before I bit down into it then pressed it against his soft lips and sat him up slightly, pulling him into my lap as I fed him my blood. Even when he's almost dead... he still is gorgeous. I bit my bottom lip slightly at the thought. Maybe I am into guys like Paris and Richardo are.... I gently brushed his hair out of his face as I fed him my blood and held him close, watching over him. He groaned and gripped my wrist, continuing to drink my blood. After a few more minutes, he opened his eyes and gave me a confused look before he let out a small groan and clung at his chest. He curled up quickly and let out a small cry of pain. I pulled my wrist back from him then held him to me, running my fingers through his hair.
"You're fine," I promised him then rubbed his back soothingly. "It will go away soon." He started to cry then and placed an arm over his face.
"I don't feel so good," he mumbled before rolling into the carriage floor. I frowned as I watched him then picked him back up into my arms.
"Of course, you don't. Your body is changing," I told him then laid him down where Victor had been sitting earlier to let him have a seat to himself to lay in. "You're becoming a vampire, like me."
"Why have you done this to me?" He asked and rubbed at his throat. "You should have given me the choice."
"I want you with me... in Germany," I whispered then crossed my legs as I watched him closely. He'll be okay.... It looks like it's working. He groaned and turned to face away from me. I could hear his heart racing in his chest. He let out a small whimper of pain.
"I should leave you," he hissed out. I frowned then before I grabbed him and gently picked him up then placed him into my lap before I held him close.
"You will be fine," I told him then leaned my face into the crook of his neck to comfort him as I rocked him slowly. He gripped my arms and kept a grip on them as he hissed out in pain. He let me go after a few seconds and sniffled as he grabbed at his throat.
"It hurts so much," he told me and ran his fingers down to his chest before tugging at it. "I think I'm going to be sick," he told me before going for the door in a slow and weak motion. I helped him to it then opened the door a crack as I held onto the back of his shirt tightly to keep him from falling out.
"After you feel a little better, I'll feed you. The burning in your throat will go away with blood," I told him as I kept the door open. He started to puke as he leaned out the door. He groaned and leaned outwards- making it harder for me to hold him as he almost fell. He let out a small whimper and held onto my hands.
"I don't want any blood," he told me and shook his head. I frowned and pulled him back in quickly as he finished puking.
"You'll want my blood soon," I told him and shut the door. "Come here..." I picked him up then laid down, pulling him onto my chest before I wrapped my arms around him. "Stay with me," I mumbled and looked him over then ran my fingers through his pretty hair. He shivered and gripped my shirt. After a few seconds I could feel him settling on my chest.
"F-fine," he mumbled to me and sniffled. I purred happily and then exposed my neck, starting to coax him to it.
"You should drink some," I whispered in his ear then gently rubbed his jaw to get him to expose his little fangs if he had them yet. He opened his jaw a little to reveal his fangs that were growing in. He gave me a pained look before looking down at my neck. He leaned in and bit down into my neck, starting to drink from me. I gasped slightly from the feeling of his fangs then relaxed under him, purring as I pressed my lips against his cheek instinctively. I blushed a bit as I did it, but I kept my arms around him. Maybe I do like males.... He pulled away from my neck after a few minutes and moved off me, sitting down across from me. He brought his feet up and pressed his knees against his chest. He turned his head to look out the window and licked his lips. I watched him for a few minutes before I sat up. "How do you feel? Better?" I asked him and looked him over.
"I'm mad at you," he told me firmly and glanced towards me. "I'm very mad." I purred softly then reached out for him before I yanked him back into my lap.
"Don't be mad," I purred then removed the bandages completely from around his neck. "I'll give you ten gold coins for this." I leaned in and bit back down into his neck gently as I wrapped my arms around his waist. I let him have another taste of my venom then as I purred into his ear and moaned softly at his blood. He melted into my arms and let out a small moan.
"T-ten?" He asked me softly. "I thought I would be worth more," he mumbled softly. "I'm only getting ten from you stealing my choice from me?" I pulled back from his neck then.
"You are worth more than ten gold coins... but I figured you'd rather prefer spoiling from me with things I buy for you rather than gold coins.... Would you like the gold coins instead?" I asked him then looked him in the eyes before I leaned in slightly, being pulled in by his scent. I purred softly then nudged him closer to me by his back before I brushed my lips against his longingly, my instincts taking over. He yanked back quickly and let out a small gasp before he tried to squirm out of my arms.
"Don't- do that. I'm mad at you, remember?" He asked. "You're in trouble." I frowned and leaned in, pressing my lips against his quickly. He yelped and pressed his hands against my chest and yanked away. He eyed me over before touching his lips. I looked him in the eyes then as my heart started to race. I kissed another man.... I gave him a curious look before I leaned in slowly and kissed his neck, trying it out as I breathed in his scent. He pulled away quickly and grabbed my neck, pressing me against the wall. "You're still in trouble," he hissed. I widened my eyes slightly as I looked at him then narrowed them.
"Let go of my neck," I hissed at him. I ripped his hand away from my neck then before I went back to his neck and bit in, marking him again. He groaned and melted against me, letting out another moan. He laid his head down against my shoulder and gripped my shirt. I purred softly then pulled back from his neck, licking it. "I'll make it up to you," I murmured in his ear then kissed his cheek gently. "Now stop being so angry...."
"How?" He asked and shook his head. "How could you possibly make this up to me? Maybe I wanted to live a human life." I paused before I looked down at him.
"I'll spoil you... and if further down the road you choose to have a simpler life... I'll buy you a house in a village for you to live in," I told him then ran my fingers through his hair. "But for now, you need to stay with me. I'll show you this is a good life...." I leaned in slightly and kissed his lips gently then blushed as I felt how soft his lips were against mine. He looked away from me quickly and moved out of my lap, going to the other side of the carriage and sat down. I frowned as I watched him but stayed where I was. This is going to be a long ride.... I sighed then crossed my legs as I looked away from him and peeked out of the blinds, watching as the scenery passed by us. I should stop touching him... before this gets worse. I can't be into men.... I have a duty to my kingdom... and now isn't the time to be experimenting either- not when I'm about to help wage a war against the elders. I need to distance myself from Reuben while I still can....
When we stopped for the night to let the horses rest near a lake along the path, I got out and stretched then looked around before I headed down to the lake and looked it over. I smiled softly at the fresh, cool air and started to walk along the bank of the lake, moving away from the others slowly as I heard Richardo talking to Paris softly as they looked over a map. They'd figure it out after all. I heard someone laugh as they approached me, and arms were thrown around my shoulders. "Dante, I can't believe you turned Reuben," Victor purred out to me. "Good luck with that. He's going to be mad at you for a loooong time." He pulled out a bottle of vodka then offered it to me. I frowned before I took it then took a swig.
"Victor... I don't want to talk about it," I told him then looked out at the lake. "Thanks for the alcohol though. You always have it on you." I smirked then sat down on the bank and picked up a pebble, tossing it in.
"Of course," he purred then sat beside me, looking at the water. "So... what are you doing out here?"
"Getting fresh air," I hummed out.
"More like running," he muttered. I glanced at him sharply out of the corner of my eyes. "Fresh air is always good for an old king who's cooped up on his throne too often."
"I'm not old!" I hissed out then laughed as I took another sip of the vodka. "I just got the throne. You'll get yours soon with this war happening."
"What're we talking about?" I heard Paris purring in amusement as he walked up to us. "I heard a scream earlier in the day~" He looked towards me in amusement. Oh no... It's the French Poodle. I frowned and took a sip of my vodka then swallowed it.
"He's calling me old," I told him, looking him over. Victor looked up at Paris and smirked.
"He turned Reuben, and Reuben is angry at him~ It's funny. He's all frustrated," he told Paris and patted the ground for him to come sit with us. Paris sat down next to him and looked at me.
"You are old. I don't have a fledgling yet," he said in amusement. I frowned at him then before I took another sip of the vodka.
"I'm only a year or two older than you, French Poodle," I muttered. Victor laughed then.
"You know~ If you're all upset about Reuben, maybe he is your mate~ You don't get upset like that often," he told me then smirked. I lightly kicked at him before I took another swig of the vodka.
"Victor, you don't know what you're talking about," I told him calmly.
"Reuben is your mate?" Paris asked me and smirked. "Do you feel the need to touch him?" He asked. "The need to be around him, be closer, and to smell- taste- devour his blood? Odds are he is." I quickly downed another gulp of the vodka then before I looked out at the lake. I can't be mated to a male... even if I am fighting this war with him that way he can be with his male mate.
"Even if he was my mate, it wouldn't matter. I have a kingdom to run," I mumbled and tensed slightly as I looked towards him. "If he is, he's angry at me, and I have other things to do like fight the war. He used to be human. He's not like us. He thought mates were bedtime stories until Victor told him they weren't." I passed him the vodka then to share. "He'll come back to Germany and tend to my horses there as an employee."
"How could you do that to your soul mate?" Paris asked. "You know deep down he is if he is." He got up then and started for the carriages. "Sleep on it if you need to." I frowned as I watched him go then sighed and took a sip of my vodka. He has a point... but with his mate... his mate was easily accepting. His was love at first sight from the looks of it.... I felt Victor massage my shoulders then, purring in my ear.
"You should go talk to Reuben about it. You wouldn't be saying what ifs if he wasn't your mate," he whispered in my ear. "You know he is.... You're just not admitting it because he's a male, and you don't want him to not accept you back. You're fighting a whole war that way thousands of people can be with their true mates no matter what, but you're denying it for yourself and for Reuben. That's not very fair to either of you. You can't make all the decisions. You need to let him have some decisions. Go let him have this one." He lightly pushed me away in the direction of the carriages and took the vodka back from me. "Go on. Hurry up. I don't want to see your face until you've talked to him." He waved me on then and looked back out at the water, taking a gulp of his vodka. I frowned and got to my feet before I looked back at the carriages. I guess... I could go talk to him.... I walked towards the carriages then over to Reuben before I reached out and gently tapped his shoulder.
"Reuben... may I speak with you for a moment?" I asked him softly. Damn... this is going to make the ride more awkward.... Reuben turned towards me as he was petting one of the horses and frowned.
"Are you apologizing to me?" He asked softly. I frowned. I guess I should that way he might calm down.
"Y-yes," I whispered. "I apologize for turning you without waiting for your answer. I should've waited on you."
"That makes this a little better." He sighed as he watched me. I nodded and relaxed a little before I looked him over.
"Reuben... if we were mates... what would you do?" I asked him and looked him in the eyes.
"I don't know," he told me and shrugged. "Treat you like a king." I blushed then. Treat me like a king? Does that mean he wouldn't do anything or... he would do something...?
"Would you be okay with it?" I asked him and moved my hands behind my back as I tried to keep a straight face. Oh man... what if he doesn't want to talk about this? He's a vampire now. He can smell it too if we're mates.
"I..." He trailed off and glanced me over. "Can't answer that question." I frowned then.
"Why not?" I asked him and felt my body tensing up for his answer. Why can't he answer it? He should know whether he'd be okay with it! I even kissed him a few times already.... Did he not like the kisses? I backed up a little then and looked him over as I felt unsteady. I shouldn't have asked. I shouldn't have asked about it at all. I should've left it alone.... I shouldn't have listened to Paris and Victor. I should've just made him my employee....
"I don't know how to answer it because we don't know much of each other. No one has ever been together in town with the same sex- that's not what I know. I never- imagined it- but men are attractive- you're attractive to me." He rubbed at his lips before giving me a soft look. "I can't answer you because I don't know how. I'm sure this is something that could get me hanged for answering- or worse!" He trembled a little then. I frowned then before I paused. He's frightened? I walked up to him then pulled him into my arms, holding him close.
"Reuben, you're not going to get hanged for it," I told him softly, trying to comfort him. "I wouldn't let anyone touch you. You're my fledgling, my newborn... and my mate," I mumbled softly in his ear. Paris is right after all.... I do want to hold him... to be near him. He smells delicious to me too... but I don't want to see him dead. I can't explain it too well... but I thought he was gorgeous when I first saw him, and I still do- even if I am male. "Don't be afraid of it. I'm going to fight a war so anyone can be with who they want. Paris and Richardo were the first I have ever seen that were same sex and together. We can be the second one I know... and we can get to know each other.... I think you're beautiful, and I can't seem to stay away from you long enough...." I laughed then before I kissed the top of his head. "If you say yes, I'll do whatever I can for you...." I tilted his face up to look me in the eyes then as I held his chin gently with one hand and kept the other on his back. "You're safe with me." I leaned in and gave him a soft kiss before I pulled back and kept my eyes on his as I gently rubbed his bottom lip with my thumb. He took my hand and rubbed the inside of it before sighing.
"I just don't want to get in trouble for something I love- I don't know if I could handle it." He gave me a hurt expression. "You smell so delicious." I purred then.
"I will make it to where you won't get in trouble ever for being with me," I purred to him. "It's... not wrong." It can't be wrong. It feels so right for him to be holding my hand like that. I gave him a smile before I leaned in and kissed him again. "Can I mark you as my mate?" I asked him curiously, wanting to mark him again but this time seriously. "I will teach you how so you can mark me too.... It's that way everyone can smell us on each other forever...."
"Mark?" He asked curiously. "Is that what you were doing to me that controlled my anger at you and made- me- moan?" He asked and blushed a light shade of pink. "That wasn't the right thing for you to be doing. I'll have to find a way to punish you for trying to silence me like that." I laughed a little then.
"You could always whip me," I teased him lightly and smirked. "You tried to earlier." I leaned in towards his neck then bit down as I remarked him as my mate, pulling him close to me.
"D-Dante!" He gasped out and leaned into my body. "St-stop surprising me like this, or I'll whip you when you come close to me like this every time." I playfully growled in his ear then pulled back from his neck before I kissed his lips softly then looked him in the eyes.
"You can't whip me every time," I purred at him then leaned in and stole another kiss. I pulled back before I looked around then looked at him before I smiled then took his hands in mine. "Come back to Germany with me when we leave England.... I want you by my side." I leaned my forehead against his then and purred happily. He nodded slowly and gripped my hands. He dug his nails in my skin.
"I will. I'll be by your side." He told me and leaned into my neck, kissing it. I gasped a little before I laughed and exposed my neck to him.
"Do you want to try marking me?" I purred at him.
"No," he told me and moved away from the crook of my neck. He went back to petting the horse then. "I don't want to mark a king." I frowned then.
"Why not?" I asked him then looked him and the horse over. "I'm your mate. You can mark me if you would like to. Don't think of me as a king. Think of me as your equal."
"If I mark you... I feel like that wouldn't make you much of a king. You should look powerful," he mumbled to me.
"I'm still powerful either way," I told him and smirked. "You should see me training with my army. A mark isn't going to make me look less powerful. It'll let everyone know I have a person strong enough to stand by my side and help me lead my country and my people," I purred. "It'll mean that I've found someone that I believe can stand with me, and that someone is you." I reached out for his hand then and gave him a smile. "I'll be even more of a king. I can't go on forever without someone ruling with me. They'll wonder what's going on." I'm going to have to get rid of my fiancé though somehow.... I think I'll send her a letter banishing her from my country. I never wanted to marry her anyways.
"Are you sure you really want me to mark you? You won't be embarrassed?" He asked and blushed. He looked down at our hands and gave mine a squeeze. I nodded.
"Yes, I won't be embarrassed to carry your mark," I purred to him. "If they ask, I'll proudly tell them you're my mate and that you're ruling by my side."
"By your side," he whispered before nodding a little. "I'll mark you."
"Then what you want to do... is expose your fangs and sink them into my skin. You have venom in your fangs that will allow you to mark me, and you'll have to release it into my veins," I explained softly before I exposed my neck to him. He looked towards my neck before he touched his teeth curiously. His fangs exposed and he punctured the skin on his finger. He began to bleed as tears watered up in his eyes. He pulled away from his fangs and glanced down at his finger. I laughed a little then got a little closer to him before I grabbed his finger and licked it clean gently. "See? Your fangs are sharp, aren't they? You're not used to them either. Don't bite your tongue on accident." He nodded before leaning into my neck slowly and bit down into me gently. I tensed a little before I relaxed for him and wrapped my arms around his waist. I leaned my head to the side for him and kissed his head. He bit down a little harder and after a few seconds I felt a sense of pleasure taking over me. I moaned quickly and leaned against him, closing my eyes. It feels... amazing! I laughed then backed him up against the carriage before I purred in his ear. He pulled away from my neck and froze up against me.
"Dante?" He asked softly. "I didn't do it wrong... did I?" I shook my head then.
"You didn't do it wrong," I purred to him then kissed him quickly. I ran my fingers up to his shoulders then down his chest slowly before I gripped his shirt and leaned into the kiss more, making it passionate. He held back from kissing me and looked away from the kiss quickly before grabbing my waist.
"Dante, how are you so use to this?" He asked me. I frowned then.
"It just... feels right with you," I told him then looked him in the eyes. "I've also seen my parents kiss before, so it's not like I don't know what a kiss is."
"I haven't seen anyone kiss since I was little," he admitted. "People don't do it in the streets- at least not when I'm watching."
"Of course, not because it's a private thing," I purred then smirked. "So, I guess I'll have to show you more often, won't I?" I leaned in for another kiss then. He yelped and dodged me- going for the inside of the carriage. I laughed and followed him, not giving up. I shut the door behind me and smirked before I grabbed him by his ankle and dragged him to me. "Hey~ Where are you going?" I teased him and smirked at him. He yelped and stumbled into falling on his front side. He curled up quickly as I dragged him to me. I laughed softly then kissed the back of his neck with a playful growl. "Reuben, you're not frightened of me, are you?" I teased him before I reached down to his boot and stole his whip from him. He looked at me quickly and reached for my whip.
"That's mine," he told me quickly. "Don't take that too." I laughed then before I kissed his cheek and handed it back to him with a purr.
"Alright, I won't play with your whip," I told him then kissed his neck. He placed his whip back inside his boot and kicked my ankle, knocking me down. He moved just in time to get out of my fall and crawled up onto the seats. He opened the door and jumped out, slamming it shut. I could hear him lean up against the door and chuckle. I laughed then before I crawled over to the door and playfully scratched my fingernails against the door. "Ooooh Reuuuben~" I called out and smirked. I'll play cat and mouse with him.
"No," he told me and held back a few laughs.
"Reubeeeeenny, come play with me~" I purred then lightly banged against the door with my fist. "Come in~ I'll play nice," I teased then smirked before I leaned my ear up against the door. I could hear him sneaking away from the carriage with soft footsteps. I teleported outside the carriage then in front of him and smirked before I swept him up into my arms and kissed him deeply. Hah, that's what he gets for sneaking away. He squirmed in my arms before realizing it was me and tensed up.
"Dante," he husked out. I purred and looked at him before I stole another kiss then trailed them to his jawline. I tightened my grip on him as I breathed in his scent and gave a soft moan near his ear then moved my kisses to his neck. "Dante, if you don't mind- I was wanting to check out the lake," he told me and pointed towards it. I paused then looked out at the lake before I looked at him then nodded.
"We can go check out the lake," I purred to him then set him down on his feet before I grabbed his hand and pulled him to it. "It is pretty, isn't it?" I asked him then looked back at him with a sweet smile. I have a mate....
