Val's POV:
Why does my head hurt so much? I rubbed at it and opened my eyes. The room was rocking from left to right, making me realize I was on a ship. I groaned and slowly got to my feet. I'm on a ship with Dante, Victor, Richardo, and Paris. "Oh, that's just fabulous!" I yelled out. I probably got drunk with Victor. I pushed my way out into a fine wooden hall. I grabbed onto the side of the walls to catch myself- the rock of the ship almost tumbled me over. I made my way up to a stormy deck where water was pushing its way down into the ship's belly. Dante was holding on tight to the captain's wheel, squinting through the rain as Victor was messing around with the sails. Victor looked towards me as I got on deck then widened his eyes.
"Val! You shouldn't be up here!" He shouted out to me quickly but was hit with a small wave as it managed to crash onto the deck. He held tightly onto the mast and then spat water out of his mouth as the water washed over the deck and into the sea again. He coughed and then went to look towards me but froze as we heard faint singing over the wind and the crashing waters.
"Why-" I stopped questioning myself as I felt someone brush past me- Paris. "Paris!" I grabbed his arm and made sure to keep a good grip on him. I shoved him back down into the belly of the ship and shut the door- locking it. I turned to Dante and Victor with worry. "Get inside!" I urged. I'm going to have to steer us out of siren waters- because if that's really sirens.... The men on this ship are so screwed. Sirens take lives from men every day. It's a classic. Victor was looking lost as he looked out across the water and let go of the mast before he laughed and spread his arms out wide, tilting his head back with a purr as another roar of water came rushing our way and threatened to sweep anyone not holding on off. Dante was beginning to let go of the wheel, awing at the song as he walked to the edge and began to reach overboard towards the water.
"It's beautiful," he purred out happily and laughed. "I want to find it!"
"VICTOR! DANTE!" I yelled out and rushed for Victor and grabbed his hand. I dragged him up to Dante and grabbed his hand then yanked them towards the doors to get them under. "Oh my gosh, please don't go into the water!" I begged them. I know they're both idiots, men, and can teleport! This is going to get out of control fast. Especially if I don't steer us out of these waters. What about Paris and Richardo? This is a job too big for just me. We were suddenly standing by the water, and Dante was trying to get free from my grip, reaching out for the water again as a small gasp escaped him. Victor exposed his fangs and went to bite down into my neck as the door to below the deck started to bang as the two lovebirds tried to get out. Oh no... no... no, no, no. I dodged Victor's fangs and yanked the two back towards the door. What am I going to do?
"YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM YOU VICIOUS FISH!" I yelled out towards the water. I heard the singing getting closer to the ship before the ship violently jerked, almost knocking me to the side. Victor fell into the floor and groaned as he face-planted the floor. He turned over onto his back and sat up before he looked towards the ocean in a daze, rubbing at his ears.
"I want to see them," he whispered as Dante growled in my arms.
"No, you don't! They're sea monsters! Cover your ears." I wrapped a leg around Dante before I covered Victor's ears. Victor looked at me and then blinked a few times.
"V-Val?" He asked over the wind and then tensed as he heard the song louder, now right up against the ship. His eyes glazed over, and he tried to rip away from me. I could hear the two love birds banging on the door frantically, Richardo crying out in despair. Oh my gosh! What am I going to do!?
"VICTOR! DANTE!" I yelled and groaned. I glanced around before holding onto both again and dragged them towards the ropes and started to wrap them around each other before I grabbed their hands and forced them to cover each other's ears. I looked at them hopefully. Victor blinked again before he tightened his grip on Dante's ears. Dante snapped out of it then and looked around with wide eyes before he looked at the rope then at me.
"Val?! Why are we tie- Victor! Get your hands off my ears!" He shouted at Victor and went to take his hands back. Victor widened his eyes.
"WHAT WAS THAT?! Hey! Don't take your hands-" Dante didn't hear him and pulled his hands away then frowned as he watched Victor look out to sea quickly with a gasp, yanking his hands away from Dante. I groaned and made them place their hands back on each other.
"KEEP. YOUR. HANDS. ON. EACH. OTHER! I'M GOING TO STEER US OUT OF THE STORM AND SIRENS!" I yelled and raced for the wheel but stopped. Will Paris and Richard be able to hold on until we're away from the sirens? Victor and Dante seemed to have gotten the message this time and were holding each other tightly, watching me with wide eyes as they resisted the siren songs. I could see the door vibrating with each bang before it got quiet, and Richardo finally managed to bust down the door, stumbling out before he looked up at the sky then towards the sea with a faint gasp.
I frowned as I watched his mate following him. LUNATICS! I ran towards them quickly and practically tackled Richardo. I grabbed Paris's leg and yanked him under before pulling them closer and managed to get them to hold each other's ears. "WE'RE IN SIREN WATERS! KEEP YOUR HANDS ON EACH OTHER'S EARS!" I yelled at them and gave them worried looks. I could feel others rushing past us to go to the side of the boats- the rest of the crew. Richardo looked at Paris before he tightened his grip on his mate to keep him from hearing the songs as he looked past him towards the other men being yanked over the edge to be drowned. He shivered then looked at Paris and kissed his forehead quickly, wrapping his legs around Paris in case he tried to run away. I saw one of the men looking at the others with wide eyes before he looked overboard then backed away quickly before he could be grabbed. He was wearing baggy clothing that was starting to stick to his skin from the rain and ocean water, showing off small, faint curves- giving her away for what she was. She shivered in the cold as she held her sides tightly, looking out at the ocean in fear with her feet glued to the deck in terror. Looks like we have a stow away! I giggled and ran up to her, grabbing her arm.
"You're a little dirty stow away," I told her before smirking. "Go steer us out of this water. Keep the ship going away from the storm's lightning. That'll be our survival. I'm going to make sure to save our sails." I looked towards the victims falling over water. Too bad... We might starve before getting the ship to a dock if we're not careful. She looked at me and blushed before she nodded.
"Yes, meine Dame," (my lady) she told me and pulled away from my grip and ran off towards the captain's wheel, taking ahold of it quickly and started to steady the ship. She looked out at the sea worriedly then towards where the sirens were singing before she began to attempt to steer us out of their waters, avoiding large waves. She moved her short blonde hair back out of her face and pushed it back, slicking it with the help of the water. I watched her body for a minute- holding back a small laugh from how great this was. There's a woman in boy clothes trying to be a boy and came upon this ship without any of us knowing she was a girl. She's going to be valuable to us actually in the future. We could use her- as a vampire. I blinked a few times before going to the edge of the boat to look down at the monsters before I rushed down to the belly of the ship and got a cannon ready to aim and scare them away. I fired one off to try to help warn them away. I heard a few shrieks before wails out in the ocean and fists banging against the sides of the ships. I've angered them.... Oh.... No. Probably wasn't the best thing I could do. I rushed back to the top and went to the side of the ship before I looked down into the dark ocean. I glanced around before I grabbed a barrel of gun powder and opened it. I turned it over into the ocean and caught it on fire with my powers- watching as it burned and lit up the side of the ship- directly where they were pushing against it. I watched as the fire powder got some of them.
"THIS IS MY SHIP AND MY MEN!" I hissed at them in anger. They wailed quickly, and I saw a few leaving in the darkness to get away from the fire. Those that got burnt quickly went under the water to escape the fire, trying to find a way around it. I frowned and waited a little to see if they'd leave us alone. I watched the water with worry. I didn't want to hurt them- I know they just do this for reasons... but I can't let my friends die. After a few minutes of them trying, I saw them slipping away into the dark waters from our ship, taking some of the dead crew with them as they left the only four men alive on the ship. I let out a sigh of relief and put the powder up to keep it safe from the rain. I looked towards my friends. "It's okay! They left," I told them and ran up to Paris and tackled him into a hug. Richardo slowly let go of his ears and wrapped his arms around Paris tightly, hugging him closely. Dante scrambled out of the ropes and away from Victor before he looked towards the stow away with a frown. I let Paris go and walked up to the stow away, looking her body over. "You're cute," I told her and laughed. She looked towards me with wide eyes then blushed.
"U-ummm..." She bit her bottom lip before she let go of the wheel quickly and darted away from me. Dante was by her immediately and snatched her up.
"So! You're a stow away," he hissed in her ear, obviously upset at being tricked.
"Don't do that... she'll be our meal until we get to land," I warned him. He tensed before he looked the ship over then looked out at sea.
"All the men are dead," he muttered then looked at her before he sighed. "Maybe we're fortunate a girl slipped past me onto my ship. You'll be our little blood bag," he told her, eyeing her over. Her eyes widened and she started to struggle to get away.
"Nein!" (No) She cried out and pushed at his chest.
"I don't think you have much choice," I told her. "When we get to England, we'll let you free." I promised her and gave her a sweet look. She looked towards me and blushed before she looked up at Dante who smirked at her.
"You know... Val, I think I'll give her to you after we make it to England. We can't just let this little human go. She'll tell the rest of humanity," he told me then pushed her in my direction. "Make sure she doesn't jump overboard or something. She should speak some English. It was a requirement to get on my ship." She yelped as she fell at my feet then looked up at Dante with a frown before she got to her feet and ran her fingers through her short, chopped off hair. I looked her over before smirking.
"Hey, you'll be fine with me. Safe." I grabbed her hand and rubbed it. "You can sleep in my room with me, so I know the boys-" I eyed over the straight boys, "don't get to you without me knowing. Stay by me." She looked at me then nodded.
"Thank you, meine Dame," she said then gripped my hand. She tugged on her wet shirt with her free hand, trying to hide her small figure again. I caught Victor watching us in confusion a few feet away as Dante started to steer us out of the storm.
"Stop watching," I warned him. "Pervert." I glared Victor down in disgust. He widened his eyes then looked away, pulling out his vodka and took a sip of it as he walked away. She glanced at him then looked at me with a faint smile, giving me a cute look and another squeeze on my hand before she let go. I smiled and wrapped an arm around her waist before I guided her towards the doors to go in and out of the rain. I can't believe the boys broke the door down.
"I have extra clothes on the other side of the ship," she told me then went to pull away from me to go back towards the crew's area to get clothes. Richardo was behind us though and frowned before he slipped past her to go down below deck to his room. I followed her quickly to make sure she'd be okay.
"Okay, I'll stay with you." I smiled in interest as I followed her. I wonder if she likes girls... She looked back at me and blushed slightly before she led me down to the crew's area. She walked into the corner of it and over to a chest before she pulled out another baggy shirt and a pair of skinny pants. She pulled her shirt off then put on the new shirt and then started to push her pants down her legs, sitting down on her small cot to get her new pants on. She was rather flat chested for a girl, but she wasn't completely flat. It must've made it easier for her to pass as a boy and get on the ship, and her baggy shirts hid any kind of curves she had. Her short boyish hair was a golden angelic blonde color with warm honey brown eyes that shined beautifully, even in the dark of the crew's quarters. She's so lucky she's the only human on the ship.... I bet Victor would have done drained her with Dante if it wasn't for that saving her. She looked up at me as she finished getting dressed then stood up and smiled at me.
"Thank you for helping me, meine Dame. I know I'm a stow away... and you could've let them throw me overboard," she whispered then walked up to me.
"Well... You happened to get on the wrong ship," I told her and sighed.
"Yes, I did, didn't I?" She asked then laughed nervously. "So... you are... vampires?" She asked me.
"Vampires," I told her and nodded. "For the most part." I smiled and looked her over. "My name is Val. I'm from Italy."
"Val," she tried out on her tongue then laughed a little. "It's pretty. Mine is Laura, Laura Eichel." She smiled at me cutely then. Laura. I smiled at her as I looked her over. Gosh she's so... different and something I like.
"Want to stay with me for a long time?" I asked curiously. She blushed then.
"S-stay?" She asked me then thought it over. "They won't... kill me, will they? If I stay with you?"
"If you stay with me... I'll be your protector." I gave her a reassuring look. She looked me in the eyes before she gave a small nod then smiled.
"Okay, I'll stay with you," she told me then gripped my hands. "I won't leave your side." I giggled and looked her over.
"Let's move you into my bedroom. Grab your things." I smiled sweetly at her. She blushed then nodded before she leaned over to her chest and picked it up then looked towards me.
"Are you sure about it?" She asked me softly.
"Positive. I don't want you alone on a ship. I think the sea could do bad things to someone sane," I explained to her. "So, if you stay around me- another person. You'll be better mentally. Instead of being thrown into darkness on a rocking ship- only getting interaction with someone when the vampire is hungry and it's their dinner time. That's not a healthy thing for a sane person to deal with. So, come be more normal with me as much as possible." She blushed then nodded to me before she gave me a sweet look.
"Okay," she said happily and grinned, making my heart skip a beat. I giggled and lead her back to my room where I got the door for her.
"We might end up sharing the same bed," I warned. "That's just going to be a thing we'll deal with until later in England when I can trust them and you on your own." She nodded to me then took her chest over to the corner of my room and sat it down on the floor then turned to me.
"I don't mind," she said softly then smiled at me. "As long as you're okay with it, meine Dame."
"I'm fine~! If we're in agreement that you're a guest in my room and I could easily put you back in the crew hammocks," I teased her. "So. Be kind!" She blushed then nodded.
"I understand," she told me then rubbed her arm. "I promise I won't upset you."
"Then we're in agreement. You'll have to feed the boys and me. We won't kill you. You won't be needed for feeding once we get to England." She nodded again then touched her neck lightly.
"Does it hurt?" She asked me softly.
"Um... for a bit," I told her and blushed. "Depending on the vampire."
"Do your bites hurt?" She asked then smiled a little at me, trailing her fingers down her neck and then dropped her hands down to her side.
"No, I don't really think they do..." I trailed off. "I mean.... I don't hear the servants complain." I giggled and sat down on the edge of my bed. She nodded to me and walked over slowly.
"Okay," she whispered then looked around the room. "You know... I don't mind sleeping on the floor if you'd like to have your bed to yourself," she told me then looked back down into my eyes with a sweet smile and walked up in front of me.
"If you want to sleep on the wooden floor, you can." I gave her a small shrug. "You can sleep down there like a dog." She blushed then.
"A-a dog?" She asked then frowned before she crawled past me and laid down on the other side of the bed. "No, I'd rather not sleep like a dog. I'm not a dog."
"I thought so," I teased her. I smirked and laid down where I was sitting and got under my cold covers. "I can't wait to be back in a warm bed," I mumbled. My servants heat my bed up for me.... She looked over at me and then blushed before she reached out and shivered, moving close to me.
"It's not that bad," she told me. "It's just a little cold, but we can keep each other warm until the bed heats up." She snuggled up against my side then and sighed softly before she leaned her head against my chest. I widened my eyes and looked down at her. Wow, she already trusts me to do this. I giggled and wrapped an arm around her, bringing her closer to me. I want a little fledgling to hold~ She looked up at me and giggled before she wrapped her arms around me and put her head over my heart, listening to it. I blushed, waiting for her to listen in and realize I had one. I saw her ears turn pink lightly as she heard my heart and then tensed before she slowly relaxed against me. She looked up at me then before she laughed. "You're blushing," she mumbled to me and gave me a sweet smile. I turned my face away from looking at her quickly.
"I never slept with someone like this," I told her and giggled.
"Never? That's kind of sad," she told me then smiled. "I at least slept with my older sister every now and then till she got married." She looked at my hair then curiously touched it. "Whoaaa... it's so soft." I felt her fingers running through it before she giggled and began to braid it.
"I have siblings but... they're out of reach." I shrugged slowly. "They don't really understand me. I have mostly brothers anyways."
"Oh... that's... horrible," she whispered then paused with my hair before she looked down into my eyes. "I would feel terrible if my siblings didn't understand me... but then again... here I am with my hair chopped off as a stow away and pretending to be male." She smiled then. "If I'm going to stay with you for a while, then I'll do my best to understand you and be there with you." She laid down beside me then hugged me with a giggle. "You know... even though you're a vampire... I'm not afraid of you being one. It's strange. I think normal humans would be frightened of it, but I'm not." She shook her head then laid her head down on my chest. "I'm happy, actually."
"That's because you're with me. That's why Dante wanted you to be with me. If you were with him or Victor... things would be different." I looked her over before closing my eyes. "Let's get some sleep and wake up to sunshine- hopefully and land." She nodded slightly before she leaned her head against my chest and began to rest with me in her arms.
