"Wow, good guess, but most mages can do it for around 25 MP. The more affinity you have and the more understanding you have, then the more aptitude you have which allows you to have advanced control in that school. This allows you to actually alter the spell form for your body and cast it much more efficiently. Some [Fire Mage]'s cast their [Fireball] at 50 MP per shot if they have poor aptitude."
"WHAT?! THAT IS A TON OF MANA? WHY IS IT SO MUCH?" Said Matthew as he stood again…
"Great question! The royal families have surmised that the quality of one's blood gives the person an inherent advantage over others, but also that the studious nature of the person impacts their ability to cast!"
"Wait a minute, just what are the mages trying to understand?"
"The mages use a runic language to build spells. Enchanters are able to build appliable versions and place them on objects. They can take [Manastone]'s to power or the raw MP of the enchanter, depending on their skill level."
"Wait, aren't the mages enchanting items themselves?"
"No, they can't inlay runes very well without the skills required unless they are VERY dedicated, but it's almost always a waste of time. An [Enchanter] class would be needed to inlay the runes properly and oversee completion of the object for a proper effect."
"…"
The people in the room just stare at one another…one person seems to be in shock about the recent revelation.
[Uh…..professions….are….classes???? Oh, yeah, we are definitely not in the game I built…]
"Matty?" Said Sarah as she poked Matthew's arm before he finally came back to reality.
"Huh? Oh, sorry, I was thinking about what she said. Are there other classes like the [Enchanter] class?"
"Yes, there are many different classes and they have a wide-range of bonuses that they can provide the user with. One thing to note is that the production-based classes are not good for combat, so they do require a party or they rely on hired people to take them through the dungeons at higher levels. But they are very good at turning a profit if the person is dedicated and has a proper understanding of their role!"
"That is amazing…" Said Matthew as he is sat staring at the woman.
The woman blushes with the intense stare, but she realizes that it is the knowledge…not "her".
"Ma'am, do you know how to change our classes? There is no screen available for that…"
"Ah, right! Come with me, lets go test the aptitude that you have." Said the lady as they stood up and began to follow her.
The group walks into another larger room that seems to have a slightly higher concentration of mana. The instructor stops and looks at the two.
"What was that feeling?" Asked Sarah, confused about the nausea inducing feeling that washed over her.
"Hmm? What feeling?" Said Matthew as he faked his awareness, but he informs his sister with a wink of his eye.
"WOW! You might have some real magical talent if you could feel the mana leak that the chamber has! That is very good news!" Said the lady as she keeps walking towards a large metal cylinder.
"This is a weird contraption, what does it do?" Asked Matthew.
"Ah, it was made with one of the fallen [Manacore]'s of a high-level beast. These cores are naturally producing a very high amount of sustainable mana…well, sustainable now that the creature is dead…"
"Miss Sarah, would you like to go first?" Asked the lady.
"Sure, is that fine with you brother?"
"Yup, go GITT'EM!"
As Sarah stepped into the "machine" it had a much denser mana that she could feel with her hands. Then as the door shut, the inside walls began to glow a faint blue-white color.
[Alright…what do I do?]
[Ding! System-Activated!]
[Welcome, Administrator!]
[Status-Sarah-No Noble house.]
Lvl.1 (Exp: 0/40)
HP= 110/110
MP= 75/75
Constitution= 8 Wisdom= 7
Strength= 3 Intelligence= 9
Dexterity= 6 Spirit= 9
{Administrator Access Granted}
Class- None
Affinity- All magic- 100% Experience gain.
Knowledge Bonus- White magic: +100% Experience gain.
(Affinity impacts skill growth (0%-100% with 100% being very rare). Knowledge allows bonus experience to be gained to offset for the natural affinity. High knowledge as a fire mage, say 80% bonus Exp with a natural affinity of 1% would result in a combined score of 81%. Meaning, if a person kills a [Slime] that is Lvl. 2 that grants 2-Exp with an aptitude of 81% then they would receive 1-Exp. The Exp given is rounded down to the nearest whole number. If someone did not have an aptitude of 50% then they would not receive experience in the skill until they fight higher level enemies.
Being talented in a school of magic typically results in an aptitude over 100%, meaning if the person kills something then they could receive extra experience at higher levels. Currently if Sarah were to kill the [Slime] worth 2-Exp then she would receive 4-Exp. This is known as a perfect aptitude which has never been seen post-Downfall Era.)
As Sarah took a look at her aptitude, she realized that she was perfect to be a healer and that is what she was going to do again.
[I knew it! I should be a [Holy Priest] or some variant probably. Someone that is able to heal a large amount of people with a little bit of mana.]
Then Sarah was done with reviewing her page. Her inventory and console were still locked, there might not have been enough mana to deal with crossing the layer in the code…
Therefore, it was Matthew's turn at determining his prowess.
