Zel sat there staring into space and began thinking about his experience over the last two months. Some of the spartan training had scarred him and even though he hadnt known him long he had all of Zel's old memories and he could tell his grandfather loved him very much. In his life as Quinton he never had any real human care for him. Every person he interacted with had a hidden agenda every man women and child was cozying up to him just to get a slice of his wealth he never had any real friends and the only "people" who loved him were the AI or bots he created and as much as that filled the void he always felt it would never be truly real always thinking in the back of his head it could just have been their programing always thinking no one would ever really care about him. Thinking about the love his Grandfather had for him made him grateful but also sick he wasn't the real Zel and he never would be. Maybe it was better just to dissapear and give up.
As he stood there looking back he realized even as 100 year old man he had never really grew up still wishing for a family he never had and his rise to fame only made him close himself off and focus on his work. Zel sat there and made a decsion.
"Im sorry former Zel preivous Zel I dont know but I'm gonna enjoy this life enough for the both of us I promise." Zel said to himself silently discarding the last of his reservation fully accepting his role as Zel Blackwood he was no longer Quinton Kane his goal was the same it just included more people Zel's family was his family now this decision changed his path whether it was for the better only time could tell.
As Zel recovered from his stupor he turned to face his gaming pod "that old man really spoils me" he laughed looking at his new Gold model V-Tech gaming chamber this wasnt the best model availabe but for normal people this would be a dream come true it could handle about a 97% brain sync while the highest quality could reach about 99% the difference was negligable except in certain circumstances most of the upgrade came with what they could do for your body while the highest would use nanobots to imrpove your body actively the gold model just sustained one's body where it was while losing brain sync percentages the model down did the same thing but you'd still have to leave the pod to eat piss and shit while gaming headsets did nothing but let you connect even the best headset only gave about 80% brain connection so almost no one used them. Zel thought this was a good start he resolved him self to find time to either buy a better machine or do the upgade himself when he had the money and time. With the game starting in an hour he decide to eat then log in.
After he finished eating Zel laid down naked in the pod as a slime like liquid began to encase his body slowly the world went dark as Zel's mind felt like it was falling then it stopped. As Zel opened his eyes onto a completely white space a booming voice resounded around him.
"Welcome User welcome to your Personal hub please wait a moment as I run diagonostics on your body for optimal confort" right as the ambient voice finished Zel decide the first thing he was gonna do was upgrade this AI as soon as he could talking to and empty space never felt right to him plus this AI was so basic that he thought it would drive him insane.
Zel finished connecting his bank account and number to his pod before deciding to log in to New Orbis as his vision went dark Zel felt his body rush forward and when he opened his eyes he was standing on cloudy white platform floating in space with the stars of a galaxy surrounding every where he looked. As he finally began to focus a woman appeared from a crack in space stepping out her eyes shown a mix of pink and purple while her hair looked like the night sky while orbs floated around her like moons her gown was a transparent purple thar every so often had lights that looked like stars accented her perfectly slim body she was what you'd imagine a ceslestial beauty to look like.
As Zel Looked at her his eyes soften flashes of memories with small children running around him while a little girl that looked like this beauty stood next to him he said "Mera" with the affection of a father seeing his daughter for the first time in years.
"I am Mera Goddess of Worlds first daughter to the Creator God and you are young one" her voice was soft and pleasent while it smoothly rang out across space.
"I am Zel BlackFire" he chose to stick with something close to his real name because the NPC in this game were almost esstially real people and if you walked up to someone and said your name was BigDaddyD or LuverBxtch69 like people tended to do in video games you'd be garunteed to be ignored or made fun of and while having a last name seemed pointless Zel knew not having one would be seen as wierd an most would assume you were an orphan or abondoned by your family.
