Gary slowly opened his eyes, the Aimes was lying in front of him. Awake. She looked embarrassed and frustrated. He wasn't really surprised. Judging by her previous interactions with the nurse and other teachers' comments, they were really close. It was almost mother-daughter like, which explained her embarrassment. The nurse told the Aimes something and then went into the back room where the office part of her office was. The Aimes pouted, crossing her arms like a small child would.
"So. What is it? What do you want?" She immediately demanded harshly. He was taken aback, what he wanted? Did she think she owed him for taking her to the nurse? Or did she mean more in terms of their ancestry?
"W-what?" He asked, blinking several times. He'd said it before he'd realised. The Aimes sighed and looked away as if the question she'd asked had an obvious answer and he was just too stupid to realise it. He bounced his knees up and down nervously, his confidence taking a sudden hit.
She rolled her eyes and stared at him with a look that could only be described as an Aimes glare. It was a similarity between all the Aimes, a glare that pierced your soul and made you feel completely insignificant. He only knew about it since his father had shown him pictures of his father and the Aimes' mother from when they were younger. One of them had definitely been taken without permission… Thinking about it now, he realised how similar they looked.
"Um… Hello?" She questioned waving a hand in front of his face like he was an idiot. He blinked a couple of times, cheeks pinking in embarrassment when he realised he'd zoned out while staring at her. He noticed her own pink cheeks, obviously embarrassed by his staring. "I asked you like five times, what do you wanna know?" She repeated, dragging out the question patronisingly slowly. Gary thought for a minute.
"Do Aimes' like… Reincarnate? Do you still remember all the past Sheffield's?" He asked, questions starting to spill out of him. "Do you remember all the betrayals and intimate nights of their lives?" He continued, starting to ramble. Her cheeks pinked deeper at that question and she shoved him, turning away and crossing her arms again afterwards.
"What kind of question is that?! I thought you'd ask questions about… Me? Us? Forget that there is no 'us'." She mumbled, dodging his questions entirely. From the shove however, he started to wonder wether it was true. She seemed kind of hurt by his generic questions. After a couple moments of silence between them, she started to answer him though.
"Aimes's aren't exactly reincarnated… It's a complicated process that I'm not going to tell you about. For obvious reasons. Yes, I remember all of the past Sheffields… Yes, most of them are as dumb as you, so I suppose you've got that going for you… Yes, I also remember all the betrayals… And all of the deaths… But I don't go into their personal lives, it's too weird seeing great-grandmothers as teenagers." She explained quietly, her face twisting with disgust as she thought about the last question. Gary grinned listening to her explanation. It was like talking to a history book. "Is that all? Can you leave now?" She asked bluntly, evidently still not trusting him enough to drop the tough act. Gary frowned slightly.
"But I still have so many questions!" He complained, starting to wonder how Aimes reincarnation worked. Maybe if they became better friends she would tell him. She gave him a look that told him to leave. He didn't want to though. This was the most he'd genuinely talked to her since he'd met her. He didn't want the opportunity for more answers to be lost so easily.
Suddenly, the nurse's office door swung open and she rushed out. Gary watched her come over to the Aimes. She told him to stand outside so that she could run some last tests on her. Gary frowned, but judging that they needed some privacy, left to stand outside.
