Chapter 124 - Offer - Gary

Gary was walking down the corridor thinking about the picture Barry had sent them all. He wondered how The Aimes could even show her face in class, knowing that everyone would be thinking about her naked. It was a horrible prank on Barry's part... He kept feeling like he should have done something, but he didn't know what he could've done that would've actually of prevented this.

"Hey! New guy!" A guy shouted. He was clearly in Gary's year, he could tell from his height and build, and he was running towards him. Gary stopped walking and faced this guy, who was now red-cheeked from running down the hallway. "H-hi I-I'm Oscar!" He greeted, panting and struggling to breathe.

"Hi! I'm Gary!" Gary introduced quickly, wanting to give the poor guy a chance to catch his breath. Oscar had dark brown hair, that was close to black, and thick rimmed glasses. He was wearing a yellow shirt under his jumper and for some reason was wearing socks and sandals - which probably explained his trouble running, Gary pondered.

"So, uh, I just wanted to thank you for earlier... With Rainbow Aimes... The rest of the group voted for me to be the one to talk to you but... We all just wanted to thank you for taking the brunt of her anger for us..." He explained, shifting in the spot slightly nervously. Gary realised that he was talking about the nerds and how they had blamed him for the picture, leading to him getting slapped. He frowned, starting to get slightly angry at Oscar.

"Why did you blame me?! I mean, I've been trying, ever since I got here, to become her friend and you just threw me under the bus as if I'm not actually a real person!" Gary ranted to Oscar, who looked very nervous now. He hadn't wanted to be the representative of the nerds to start with, and now he had to deal with the backlash of their decision.

"I'm very sorry Gary... but in honour of you defending us, um, we would like to ask wether you would like to join our table and our group?" He asked, trying to change the subject quickly. Gary rolled his eyes, they had stopped him from becoming friends with The Aimes and now they were offering a, Seat, as compensation?

"I've got to get to class." Gary muttered, not wanting to talk to this guy any longer than he already had. Oscar frowned at his response. As Gary started to walk away, Oscar racked his brain for a way to get Gary's interest back.

"Hey! Um... If you're interested... I know where she hides!" He called out. Gary turned around confused and walked back to him. "If you join our group, then I'll show you where she spends a lot of time. Not many people know about it!" He persuaded, Gary sighed. If he could find out where she hid all the time, it would make it a lot easier to connect with her.

"Ok fine, I'll be your friend or whatever..." he sighed. Oscar grinned and his eyes sparked with excitement. Friendship. Gary smirked at his expression and the walked off to this hiding space. Maybe being friends with Oscar wouldn't be so bad... He had been so focused on being friends with The Aimes that he'd forgotten to actually make other friends.

They arrived at the art room, Gary gave him a quizzical look and Oscar just pointed. Gary turned to the classroom and saw The Aimes in there painting, she had a look of deep concentration and he hair had been swept to the side. She actually looked kind of pretty, Gary thought as he stared through the window. Then he remembered that Aimes' were supposed to be beautiful to lure their victims to their deaths. He broke his gaze and spun around. Oscar was gone. Was everyone this good at disappearing in this school? At least he knew where The Aimes hid now...
