Chapter 111 - Chemistry part 2 - Rainbow

Rainbow took a deep breath. Barry had tried to drag her out of chemistry again, for literally no reason. She straightened her t-shirt, that had gotten lopsided due to their fight.

"You still need to give me that 3000 word report from last month, you've skipped class six times this fortnight already, you come into class making a fuss and don't even apologise!" The teacher ranted, putting her hands on her hips and towering over Rainbow.

Internally, she was freaking out. She had just been called out in front of all her class members and utterly humiliated by both the teacher and Barry.

Externally, she was cool, calm and collected. Rebellious and feisty. She stared at the teacher looking as if she didn't care about any of the words said.

"Go to your seat!" The teacher yelled at her, pointing to the back of the room. Rainbow rolled her eyes dismissively and flicked her hair off her shoulder, storming down the centre of the classroom, knowing full well that everyone's eyes were on her.

When she acted as Rainbow the rebellious head girl, she was immune to all her anxiety. If she wasn't being herself, then she didn't have to deal with the constant self doubt she had. It tore her apart inside though, not fully understanding who she was because of the different masks she put on to hide behind.

She stormed up to her seat in the classroom and noticed the boy sitting next to it. Gary. Gary Sheffield. Why did he have to follow her around all the time? Why did he have to sit right there? And why... did he have to see all that?

Her self-doubt started to creep around the mask she was hiding behind.

She continued going, pretending to ignore him, even though they both knew she'd noticed him. She slumped down at her desk, opening her exercise book and flipping to the next page. She felt Gary's aura fill with fear. She turned to him, watching his hand nervously tapping the table with his pen.

"What?" She asked in a low voice, just loud enough for him to hear it. It came out more sassily than she'd wanted it to. He stared at her blankly.

"Y-you're Rainbow Aimes?" He asked quietly, he stumbled over the words with fear practically coating them.

"Yeah? For a Sheffield you're pretty stupid!" She commented, causing him to frown. She was so obviously an Aimes, everyone hated her, she had rainbow hair, her aura was nearly identical to her mother's. Why was he so confused? Was he really that stupid?
