Gary had woken up extremely groggily from the restless night he'd had. Barry and his girlfriend had stayed up very late and on top of that Gary hadn't slept in such an uncomfortable bed before. He didn't let it bring down his second day though, so he got up, had breakfast and went to his first class.
Chemistry.
It was the one subject that Gary had basically no knowledge about. It wasn't extremely important for being a good mayor, so his tutors had cut it from his curriculum entirely.
The teacher told him to sit in a spare seat at the back of the classroom. Once he sat down, he noticed the name on the exercise book next to him. Rainbow Aimes. This was going to be so awkward. Having to sit next to the girl he'd heard last night...
As he wondered what they would be learning about, he heard arguing. He turned to the door of the classroom. It was... her. The Girl. Barry was holding her arm and trying to pull her away from the classroom.
"Let go of me!" She yelled, swerving under his arm as he tried to grab her other arm too.
"No way! You said you'd skip chemistry with me!" He argued, struggling to keep ahold of her as she ducked under his outstretched arms.
"Well I actually need to learn! And so do you!" She yelled back as he started to drag her. She grit her teeth and slipped out of his grip again. Gary stood up, internally fighting the urge to help.
"Get to class Mr Johnson! Oh, and stop harassing my students!" The teacher hollered, causing Barry to suddenly let go and The Girl to stumble out of his grip. Barry walked off down the hallway grumbling and cursing, while flipping off both the teacher and The Girl. "Don't think you're off the hook so easily either!" The teacher continued, glaring at The Girl. She frowned, evidently already knowing what was coming.
