Gary woke up from a knock on his door. What time was it? 8 o'clock? Who was waking him up so early and why? "Come in." He answered, his voice was husky and coated in the sleep that he was just awoken from.
A maid came in with a tray of pancakes. "Forgive me for waking you Master Gary, But today is your journey to the public school." She explained, placing the tray on his lap. Was it that obvious that he'd just woken up? Wait... School? Then it all came rushing back to him. He was going to an actual school today! He felt a rush of energy sweep through his body and he grinned.
"Thanks," Gary exclaimed, turning to the pancakes that had been prepared for him.
After his breakfast, he got changed into some of his casual clothes and grabbed his suitcase before heading downstairs. His father was waiting for him by the front door and smiled warmly.
"Have a good time Gary, and make sure to visit your aunt." He told him. Gary smiled, relieved that his father wouldn't try and stop him. He hugged him tightly. His father's smile faded and then he sighed.
"Remember, the Aimes girl might go to that school. Be careful. If she is come back immediately, it's safer here." He reminded, giving Gary a look to reaffirm his words. Gary nodded, not completely taking in his father's words and turned to the door.
"I should get going." He sighed, stepping closer to the door. His father nodded. Gary slipped out of the house and into the crisp air of the early hours. Despite the morning's chilly wind, Gary was strangely warmed by the idea of stepping out into a new journey and a new location.
