After Gary had visited his mother's grave, he shoved his hands in his pockets and walked off. He was now completely soaked through and the cold had started to settle in his bones. Starting to shiver, he sped up slightly. He didn't know what he was going to do when he got back home. It was so boring, he had no friends to hang out with and no films to watch that he hadn't watched three times over. In truth, he didn't want to go back home but he knew that he'd get in a ton of trouble if he didn't. It was just easier to follow the rules than to clash with his father for no reason.

Gary walked over to his father's office to ask him what he was supposed to be doing now that he was back home. He got to the doorway and took a deep breath. Then he paused. He heard his father's voice and another different voice that he'd never heard before. He knew he shouldn't but he listened into the conversation.
"Thank you for doing that... Did you receive the reward I sent you?"
That was his father.
"Yes thank you, I gave the money to my daughter and her friends, after all they were the ones who did the dirty work..."
Gary didn't know that voice but he guessed that the woman's voice was another mayor.
What did his father mean? Who was the woman?
