Chapter 47 - Picking up the pieces - Rainbow

Rainbow pulled back from Dimond and looked at the shards. "Are you gonna help me clean this up or are you just going to stand there?" She asked cheekily.

Dimond sighed, brushing down her clothes. "Don't push it." She plainly resolved. Rainbow groaned and picked up some of the shards, throwing them in the bin. Then she winced, blood starting to spill from her palm. "This is why you're doing it," Dimond started. "I don't have any of that special healing Aimes magic." She justified.

Rainbow smirked as she washed the blood off, the cut was already gone. "I guess it's not all bad being a magical being." She joked. Dimond's face turned serious however.

"This episode, it's just like before." Dimond lay a hand on Rainbow's shoulder. "Are you okay?" She asked.

Rainbow spun around and smiled, "I'm fine! You know that! I have the support system now, it's better than before, right?" She lied, sounding all too carefree for Dimond.

"I'm just saying... Be careful." Dimond emphasised, looking her dead in the eyes. Unlike Rainbow's icy blue eyes, Dimond, along with most of their family, had deep and dark brown eyes that pierced Rainbow's.

The bell rang and Dimond made some excuse about going to class, leaving Rainbow alone in the bathroom. She groaned, how could she be so stupid? How could she have left it for anyone to find? She looked at the last remaining piece of the mirror, suddenly having an unexplainable desire to cut herself with it. She picked it up, with shaking hands, she deserved it. She had risked it. She needed to be punished.

The blood ran down Rainbow's wrist. It didn't hurt. It made her feel better and in a matter of seconds the cuts were gone anyway. It didn't matter that she was relapsing. It didn't matter that it was going to happen again. It didn't matter because this time, she wouldn't get caught.
