Gary looked into her brown eyes in disbelief. She had been planning against him this whole time? What about Dave? Did he have anything to do with this? "It was you the whole time?" Gary asked. Ruby simply nodded nonchalantly. "What about Dave? I thought he was involved..." Gary asked voicing his thoughts out loud.
"Nah, he just hates people in general, but he does make a good henchman!" Ruby smiled at his hurt expression. "Ok I've got to go tell the head about you... Bye!" She explained and ran off. Gary groaned and shook his head in disbelief once more. He didn't understand how he could be so oblivious and naive. His dad was going to kill him, he hadn't even made it though one term. Fortunately, the February break was only a couple of days away meaning he'd almost made it and he was going home soon anyway.

The next day, Gary was walking through the treacherous halls trying to get to class without being hassled too much. Students were shouting slurs and swearing at him due to the rumours Ruby had sent around. It seemed like everyone believed her too. Then Ruby walked over to him, looking slightly disappointed with the result.
"So the head says he's going to give you one more chance since your new and stuff so..." Ruby explained solemnly, he looked at her his eyes asking her why he should care.
"You don't need to try anymore, I'm going home." Gary responded his voice full of betrayal and emptiness. Ruby stared at the floor as he walked off. An awful feeling corrupted her stomach.
