Rainbow headed to the bathroom, she needed some time to think and stop her thoughts swirling around her head. She needed to breathe.
She put her hands on the sides of the sink and looked into the mirror. Her rainbow coloured hair dropped down to just above her petite waist. Her icy blue eyes in her reflection just stared back at her. She had a few light freckles that poked above her makeup over her nose and across the top of her cheeks. She was quite short for a fifteen year old - and light.
She sighed and just focused on her breathing for a while. She wanted to punch Barry so badly, he didn't control her or own her or whatever he thought. Yeah, she is where she is today because of him, but that didn't mean she owed him anything. Her grip tightened on the sink, her knuckles whitened. Then she felt an all too familiar surge of energy. She tensed. "Shit." She murmured under her breath. She closed her eyes and tried to calm down but it was no use. She stabbed her nails into the palm of her hands. Not Now! She thought desperately, trying to make this feeling go away. Then it worsened, she stretched out her fingers towards the mirror. She panted breathlessly, terrified of what was going to happen.
Then rainbow light surged from her fingers and smashed the mirror in front of her. She screwed up her face as the shards flew past her.
Then it was over. Almost as quickly as it came it was gone. The only evidence that it had even happened were the smashed mirror and Rainbow's bleeding palms. She sank to the floor and leaned against the wall, exhausted. That was her secret.
Magic.
And that was why she hid it away. She couldn't control it, much to her mother's dismay. There were only two other people at school who knew, that she trusted with her secret, and one of them could easily ruin her life with it. Rainbow looked at her palms, they were covered in blood. She stood up and washed them. By the time she was done, they were already healed like it had never happened...
