Two days had past and Malcolm was no where to be seen. Mr. Beal was the only one who knew where he would be but he didn't care. He kept himself busy with his work. They had been publishing many articles. He got a raise and had to hire a replacement for me. No matter what happened nothing could lift the feeling of dread. He was just waiting for something. Anything. He said the reason he cared for me so much was because I had reminded him of Quinn but he knew that wasn't true. Because the truth was too painful to tell...
"Quinn, come to bed it's almost twelve." Auden said. Quinn walked out of the bathroom with nothing but a green silk robe.
They kissed Auden on the forehead. "I know, dear." They spoke softly.
Auden sat up. "What's on you're mind? Is it Kai?" He asked. With one look Auden knew it was a yes.
"He was almost the same age as you. He was barely even an adult." Quinn said.
Auden moved closer and sat beside them. He cupped their cheek and pulled their face towards his. "It's not something we can change. I hardly knew him but I know he was a good person. He didn't deserve that." With that he gave Quinn a sweet kiss.
"I love you." He whispered with his forehead against Quinn's. "I love you too.." They replied.
Quinn closed their eyes for a moment. They could feel them getting heavier.
"I knew you would be tired." Auden said.
Quinn tried to stand up but almost fell. Luckily Auden caught them. "You should lay down." He suggested. "I have to get dressed."
"No you don't. It's just me and you here." He smiled. "Fine." Quinn took off the robe without thinking.
"Come on." Auden laid them down gently on the bed and put the blanket on them. "Get some rest."
Before he could walk away Quinn grabbed his arm and pulled him onto their chest.
"What are you doing?" Auden asked playfully.
"I hope you know, I really love you. I will always love you, forever." They exclaimed.
"I will always love you too. For more then eternity." They shared a passionate kiss. They turned the lights off and fell asleep into each other's arms. "Goodnight, my beautiful angel." Auden whispered as the two went to sleep.
As they were sleeping Auden began to see dreams and memories. Visions almost. But not one's that he remembered. He could see doctor Malcolm, Mr. Beal, and even me. Like usual it was blood, death, and more blood. He could see the last thing I saw when I died.
Mr. Beal's beautiful face. He was so handsome. With dark hair and bold yet precious eyes. He always comforted me. But that's not what Auden thought. As for him, he was confused.
He didn't want to see it but he was stuck. He saw ghosts and water. Drowning in it. Mixed with the blue and black swirls until finally he woke up gasping for air.
"What was that?!" He thought.
Quinn woke up not even a second later also gasping for air. They coughed a little too. "Auden, you... your dreams, we're you putting them into mine? Because-"
"Yes, I think so.." Auden said. "But they weren't just dreams they were.. memories. But they weren't mine, I think, I think they we're Kai's." He added.
"But Kai is.. dead. How would that even work?" They were just as confused.
"I have no idea..." Auden said.
