SHANA
Even though I sleep late I always go to work with my usual time earlier than the others. I know I shouldn't have but I get used to it since I work here.
"Good morning!" I greeted the security guards in the lobby.
"Good morning Ms. Shana." The two security guards greeted me back with smiles on their faces. They knew me already not because I work for their payroll. But they knew me because I am always an early bird one of the earliest people who arrives in the company every morning.
I pressed my floor and walked to my station as soon as I enter my office. I put down my bag inside my drawer, changed my 3 inches heels into flat shoes and grabbed my phone place it inside my blazer pocket.
I decided to go up to the rooftop and drink my coffee I bought from the vendor stall Angel's Coffee. I left my sandwich on the side of my table. I will eat that later.
I need some morning fresh air to refreshing my mind due to Zari's disappearance and kissing my boss.
I walked towards the end of the rooftop that employees allowed to stay. The other side I heard that it is the property only immediate families of the owner of the company allowed but none of them was staying the penthouse.
I think I am the only one who always stays in the rooftop when I feel not in the mood or stress out with works. Not even once going here I meet other employees but no one tells me if this is off limits. So, I guess it is just they do not like being in here.
I find it peaceful looking up the sky or seeing tall buildings. I miss my parent's home that is one of the reasons I love going up to the rooftop.
The place I grew up, we all grew up was in the rooftop of my parents building. We do not have a house with front and back yard. We do have, in my maternal ancestral house which my Uncle Shane and his family live. My maternal grandparents do live there too up to now. Oh also my paternal grandparents too I forgot with the same neighborhood.
Overall, my siblings and I live in the rooftop. I do not complain about the place we live; it is not just the view of the tall buildings you can see but there were trees and mountains on the other side. Unlike here in NY, most of it was tall buildings and lights in the night.
I finished my coffee and lean back for a while since it was early to go down. But I set an alarm I might fall asleep without knowing.
I closed my eyes, feel the morning breeze. I thought my mind was fully awake but it startled me when my alarm rang. I must have slept.
I quickly opened and turned it off but I screamed when I heard I was not alone sitting on the bench when I turned my face to the other chair.
"Hi" he said. "Good morning!"
"Oh my gosh!" I burst out loudly. It was my boss sitting beside me, the CEO of this company. "Oh, I am sorry."
"It is okay I think I scared you." He smiled, looking amused.
"Yes, you did, I guess as you noticed that I screamed." I smiled back. "I did not even notice you sitting beside me. I must really in deep sleep." I said, blushing. I know because I can feel my face heated.
"Yes, you must really tired, not even aware of my existence few minutes ago." He said still never left his eyes on me.
I even blushed with the way he stared at me. I feel conscious and scared that what if he notices that I was the one he kissed him last night and not the real Zari.
'How do I explain to him? That I was tired last night's event and the situation of being kiss by him. What will be his reaction if it is I?' Again, talking to my mind.
When I left him there, I go back to my office. This is really bad if we keep bumping each other. I could lose my previous job once he finds out.
'What have I put myself into?'
As I entered my department, they are few people already coming.
"Good morning Ms. Shana." They greeted me as I passed their table.
I smiled and replied. "Good morning." Walking straight towards my office. My stomach starts to grumbling.
"I forgot to eat my breakfast." I murmured.
Stepping towards my coffee area and turning it on. Yes, I am coffee lover and I know I already drink this morning but I still need another. I cannot function myself without it. My usual coffee in take in a day were just 3 or 4 only. Of course, it is too bad for my health if it's more than that.
When I heard my coffee maker ready, I poured in on my mug. Getting my sandwich too placing it all together in my desk. I need to eat something to begin my daily routine.
I still have time to eat so I start opening my sandwich. It smells always good with matching with my coffee. Ooh! My day is solved.
Drowning myself in my work, it took hours before Beth knocked to bring me my lunch.
"Here's your lunch Ms. Shana." She placed it again in my center table. "Guess who we saw again?" I already knew who because the way her smile indicated. Shaking my head as I chuckled.
"Don't laugh at me, Ms. Shana. Even though I'm married I still appreciate the beauty of a man." She giggled. "My husband won't be jealous because he knew I will never leave him or them for another man." She added with love in her eyes.
I laughed. "You have a nice husband that he has trust in you." I said but, in my heart, I wish I find a husband that could love and be with me forever too just like my parents.
"You will find that man in your life, Ms. Shana. Once you feel that connection, bam." She smiled widely. That I joined her laughing. She waited me until I finished my meal. Beth is one of my trusted assistants and a friend too since I came in this company.
