COLTON
I called Jake after I came from my parents house just to ask Zari's number and he answered few rings.
"Hello" he said. His voice was a little bit sleepy.
"Hi, hello!" I said walking around my living room. "Is this Jake, handler of Zari?" Why am I nervous? It's just her manager.
"Yes, who is this?" he asked.
"I am Colton." I introduced.
"What exactly your name again?" Jake asked back. He repeated it doubted.
"Colton Torres" I answered.
"Colton Torres? As in THE COLTON TORRES? Colton Torres as in Torres Shipping Lines Corp. and other businesses, Torres?" he asked confirming about me.
I know it sounds weird at first because I let my secretary do the appointment most of the time. But now, I did it just for a woman. Not just a simple woman to me, she is very important one.
"Yes, I am he." I replied
"Well, what can I do for you, Mr. Torres? This might be really important that you call me personally." he said.
"Yes, I wanted to ask Zari's number?" I told him straight forward.
"What is this all about? Is this regarding about modeling job you needed for her?" He wants to know in details I presumed.
"No, this is other matter and I met her during Clare's fashion show." I confessed.
"Oh, my goodness." He said in shocked in the other line. "Mr. Torres, are we going to discuss business proposal that you want to contact Zari? To be honest, we cannot accept any job for her now for personal reason." he said frankly. "However, if for your personal gain, you are asking me her number. Absolutely, I cannot give you that because I respect her privacy too. Unless, she will let me to do so. Besides, I cannot contact her and I do not know where she is right now."
"What do you mean you cannot contact her? I was with her last night and that is why I want to know her number from you." I heard no sound on the other line. "Hello." Jakes was silent I could only hear the breathing.
"Well, Mr. Torres, I guess that's beyond my capacity if you were with her last night. I guess she will be the one who can give you her number once you see her again." He said in a cheerful voice. "Have a nice day, Mr. Torres and good luck."
I sighed after he dropped off the line. There is something weird going on. I guess I cannot do anything about it but wait for us to meet again.
'Why am I doing this? It is not me anymore. Why am I being bothered with this woman? Since I met her, I was not even in my own self. I always wanted to see her and be with her.'
I shook my head for thinking about it in my mind.
There is something about her that caught me beyond expectation. 'What is wrong with me?'
I went to my study room and opened my laptop. I needed to keep busy to stop thinking about her. Keeping myself busy for not being obsess to her. She must be some kind of witchcraft that knows how to deal with a man like me.
'What am I thinking about those witchcrafts thing about her? Since that time, I saw her she got my interest. I was the one who bewitched by her… whatever! I shook my head again then concentrate my work.
'I'll just do my unfinish work and stop thinking about her.'
But then her eyes flashed quickly inside my mind. Not only that her lips, her... wait a minute I just said I do not want to think about her.
"Focus Colton and do your damn work." I said it loudly.
One morning, we passed by the vendor stall near the company. I saw a familiar woman standing. She was happy talking with the owner. It seems like she is always there every morning.
That woman I met up inside the elevator. That woman who loves to stay work late on Friday night. That woman I saw sleeping in the rooftop one morning. That woman... is Shana.
I smiled as we reached the basement of my company. I get out first when Eddy stopped. It will be another boring day for me again. I have not seen Zari in a long while. We never cross our paths since we had sex. It's getting me annoy she vanished like a thin air.
I go back to myself again focusing towards work. It has been busy lately and it help me a lot for not thinking about her.
"Come in." I said as I unlocked the automatic door in my office in Shipping Lines company. Well, these past few days, my body was in between my family business and own business. I am grateful in both secretaries I have in my businesses. They helped me easier my jobs in both sides. It also did help my right-hand man Eddy. He is the big help to me.
"Boss, I already settled everything for the business trip to Russia and got the tickets just the way you want it to be." Eddy told me in details. "Plus, I already book a flight to Paris." he added.
I guess I am really a busy man. "Ok, thanks Ed. You can go home early and pick me up tomorrow." He nodded, leaving me in my office alone.
I was just there looking outside my window. My grandpa really has the keen in placing his company. It is the best scenery to see. Admiring the view for a while, it is still past five in the afternoon. Most of the people were going home after eight hours of working time.
Maybe some were still working and some were ready to be with families. All individuals have their own lives to face it every day. Unlike me, I have been thinking about myself lately. Thinking about having my own family.
Yes, it is something about that woman I met during that event. She let me change my point of view about marriage even I haven't pursued her. Maybe it is my right time to think about marriage.
