Chapter 62 - Auction.

(A/N okay boys quick explanation about suggestions this is an original novel not a fanfiction. Meaning everything is original and mine like I came up with the characters and world's so I can do whatever with them. For your suggestions I need original ideas like not from your favorite animes or animes characters. Simple enough. No copyrighted world's or characters I'd have to do original world's and characters. There may be some work around as long as I'm not very specific but that takes energy and I'm lazy so.)

There was a knock on my door. I figured it was the old man as I don't have guests. I put down the book I was reading and went to go let him in.

Sure enough the flamboyant wearing old man waltzed right on in.

"What's up geezer?" I ask plopping down in my chair.

"There's an auction being held in Bright City are you interested in going?" he says.

I think about it for a moment.

"Sure I've got a few things I can sell plus I'm also interested in what they have." I quickly start thinking about a few money makers I had kept stocked up.

For some reason in the magical world's there wasn't any auctions I think it was because guilds took over as salespeople.

In this world there's a few associations but they are like an alchemy association and such. There aren't like any adventure guilds there are however mercenary groups who do things like fight monsters and look for rare herbs. Monster meat here is packed full of energy and is great for eating. Plus monster cores are used for Alchemy or weapon crafting and sell for alot.

Other than them most people worked regular jobs like farming or normal human jobs.

After I'm finished gathering up what I need it's time to head off.

"So how are we getting there?" I ask the old man.

He gives me a slight grin before grabbing the scruff of my shirt and flying off.

"Nooooooo!"

About 30 minutes of flying later. I'm safely dropped off on the ground looking pale and shakey.

"Old bastard just you wait." I threaten crawling on the ground away from the scary sky.

He smirks at me. "Don't be such a baby its not like the fall would kill you."

"I promise to give you a proper beating when I'm strong enough. Don't worry it won't kill you its just going to hurt alot." I promise.

"Let's go the auction will be starting in a bit and you said you had things to sell." he says walking towards a magnificent building with guards posted out front letting people In slowly.

"You can sell the stuff for me I think I'm going to just go sit down." I tell the old man before tossing him a ring with items in it.

"Alright we are in vip booth 7." He says tossing me a small card and walking off towards the item inspection area.

I quickly locate the vip section and make my way past the guard showing him the card and easily gaining entry.

I locate the 7th booth and walk on in plopping down on a chair and grabbing some ice juice in a jug on a table before gulping it down.

I look out of the booth and watch as people slowly walk in and fill the seats below.

The chatter of the people below slowly starts to increase.

About 20 minutes later the old man walks in and gives me a strange betrayed look.

I ignore him.

He gives me kicked puppy eyes the whole time we wait for the auction to start.

About 10 minutes later a older gentleman wearing a nice outfit walks onto the stage.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Bright City auction house. Today we have quite a few products we are going to sell and I'm sure quite a few will surprise you." He says with a deep friendly voice.

"I'm sure all of you know not to start fights in the auction or you'll face a lifetime ban. We accept bids in either gold of cultivation stones. You must have the money on hand to be able to pay for your purchases any kind of fraud will result in a ban. Now without any further waiting let's begin the auction." He waves his hand and a bueatiful sales girl walks up carrying a covered tray.

It was uncovered and there was a herb.

This was a herb found by some mercenaries in the forests where some cultivation beasts live.

The first part of the auction was mostly smaller things that noncultivators brought in. They sold for quite a bit but nothing outrageous. Mostly strange plants, beast parts like hides and stuff along those lines.

The next part was materials for forging things like flying swords. There were rare gems and some metals. I had the old geezer pick me up a handful of binding stones. Binding stones were like what's used in my spatial rings a drop of blood and it binds a piece of equipment to me. I figured I could experiment with them.

There weren't any treasure maps or unidentified special items with spirits of old dead cultivators in them.

It was mostly just items for things people actually used like rare goods.

I bought myself a couple of 10 year old ginseng pretty cheap for my herb garden at home. I could pay in gold since most mercenaries had zero use for cultivation stones.

Other than that I bought a few ores I didn't recognize for cheap aswell. I'll study those later on.

They were common ores here I just didn't know what they were.

Next up was weapons which got much more attention. Most of them were swords or other weapons reinforced with monster cores or formations I had no idea about.

I'll have to look into some of those later. See if I can upgrade my chain more somehow. I'd also see if it liked any of the ores here and probably purchase a few more if I could get them for a good price.

After the weapons came another big item in the form of cultivation manuals and moves.

The old man bid for a few of them. Some went to other people but the ones he bought would be put in our pavilion back in the sect so the disciples can study them.

The auctioneer suddenly waved his hand and another woman brought up an orb.

He shouted out over the babble of the crowd. "Our next item up for bid is a 100 year old spirit."
