Chapter 22 - Beginner Dungeon.

Standing in front of the giant glowing gate I eagerly waited for my instructor. Soon he appeared. It was a young male elf carrying a bow.

"Hello my name is Rowen and I'll be your examiner for your fighter class today. The rules are very simple. You can't use magic and you can't use your companion for this dungeon. If at any point in time before 5 levels are passed and I have to save you from something you will be failed and have to retake the test one month later do you understand?" he tell me.

"Yes sir." I reply.

"Very good now let's get this show on the road I'm sure your very eager to enter the dungeon. I was the same way when I first did this a couple decades ago." he says with a laugh as we both walk into the glowing gate.

I feel slight pressure on my body and a floating sensation before my feet hit solid ground.

I look around and the entire place looks like some kind of labyrinth in a castle with gray stone walls and floors and torches lighting the way.

"You have to find your way to the stairs and make your way down the floors. At each set of stairs is a ball of light you can use to escape anytime you wish and return to the surface." Rowen says.

I nod and start cautiously making my way down the hallways with Rowen following a few feet behind me watching closely.

Soon we come across my first enemy. The slime. It was a blob of gel that had no real color and was kind of just oozing and rolling around making glooping noises. In the center of this blog was a small floating marble. This marble had to either be broken or removed to kill the slime.

My chain shot out from under my sleeve and pierced into the slime before wrapping around the marble and just tearing it out. These are commonly used for making medicine and sell for an okay price.

[Monster summon unlocked.] Cassies voice sounds out in my head which excites me but I'm currently busy so I'll have to look later.

I look at my chain which is covered in goop and watch is it shakes the slime off like a dog splattering it everywhere.

"Gross." I hold out my hand and it drops the marble in my hand which I stuff into a little pouch on my waist for loot items.

"Good weapon!" Instructor remarks examining the chain.

"Yeah its nice." I say scratching the blade underside as it rattles happily.

We continue making our way through the floor with the chain easily dispatching the slimes by stealing the marbles.

We easily find the stairs after killing about 30 slimes along the way.

There's a glowing orb on a plinth near the stairs I figure is the way out. We won't be using that.

The next couple floors are all the same filled with slimes except there are a few more than the last floors there was one exception on the third floor though.

We walked into a wide room and in the center of the room was a wooden chest. Treasure chests bitches.

However being a gamer I suspect anything in a dungeon to be either a trap or a mimic.

I move to the side of the chest and flip it open from a distance using the chain. Sure enough a couple darts fly out from the chest.

"Good job. Most people fail at this point and have to be rescued." the instructor praises.

I walk over and look in the chest There's just an iron knife and 3 little vials of healing potion.

Making our way out of the room we see the stairs and make our way down.

The rest of the slime floors are easily solved.

"Congratulations you've passed floor 5 would you like to continue going?" the instructor ask.

"Yes." I say as we head down the Stairs.

The dungeon changes drastically at this point and looks more like a forest.

We make our way quietly through the woods before find any opponent. There standing in the middle of an opening in the trees is a little green man with pointy ears wearing a loincloth and carrying a wooden spear. This would be a goblin.

I stealthily move behind the little man and with a fast movement I grab his chin and side of his face and with and upward jerk. I snap his neck quickly. Most of the time in moves people think you break a neck by twisting to the side. This is wrong. You do it with an upward twist or else your just making the person uncomfortable and you have to turn the head wayyyy more to do any damage.

The instructor give any nod for any good stealth kill.

I cut open the front of the chest with my knife and pull out a small crystal. This is a monster core almost all monsters have these.

Other than this goblins have no usable parts. If you were doing an extermination quest for the guild however you would take the right ear to identify a kill.

Monster cores can be combined together to save space and measured at guilds or other places and sold based on how many there are. This works for all cores except slime cores as they are different.

From that moment on I did a bit of regular kills on the goblins without using the chain.

I tried out my knife and did some regular beatdowns with my metal knuckle gloves.

Goblins are great to practice kills on as they aren't overly strong and are human shaped.

When I get bored I just let the chain dispatch them quietly.

Making our way down it takes a few hours to reach the final floor.

"Well this is the last floor to the boss room. Do you want to finish up or fight the ogre?" Rowen asks but already knew the answer.

"Let's continue."
