Chapter 18 - Magic Tier of 5

After they left the tavern, they ended up strolling down on one of the crowded streets of West Village. Amidst that, Luna was relaxed after seeing the crowd who were not as elegant as those in South Village. Its lively and friendly atmosphere was in contrast to the south who was filled with nobles and merchants. Moreover, in one area of the village, she even saw the apartments that were simply designed. Some were even not painted and some were made of wood.

However, she was still bothered about the line of work that Akiro had but Luna could not find enough courage to talk about his work. She felt that it was wrong to do that thus she ended up adding another problem into her head.

Not long after, they reached the Red Castle Hotel and walked straight to their room. Akiro only told her one thing after he went inside his room.

"A female servant will get our lunch here and rest well," he said.

The servant Akiro told about didn't take long and served their lunch. She knocked on his door and told him about it but she didn't get an answer.

'Well, I'll eat first," Luna thought and ate her food although it didn't look as appetizing as before. Luna didn't know what's wrong with her. She decided to stop eating and went straight into her room.

On the wooden study table, Luna took the book she left and started reading, hoping that she would get an answer to her questions.

Since the founding of the Magus Nation, the currency used was Magi.  From the lowest tier, Copper coins, and the highest tier, Magic stones. The nation was wide and huge and the business conducted could not be easily controlled by a rich, cunning merchant because the traveling of goods was extremely dangerous throughout the forest which was often the only road to some small to medium towns.

Because of that, an Adventurer's guild was formed which could be hired by anyone at a reasonable price for protection. The talented commoners and some lower nobles were often found in an Adventurer's guild.

It was beneficial to both sides as the talented commoners were provided with things needed to train their magic especially those that they couldn't afford and the merchants didn't need to hone and find talents of their own since higher tier people would cost them highly and finding talent among the commoners wasn't easy.

Although some bigger businesses have their adventurer, it was highly limited and only needed on some important occasions. Some teach higher magic education but only people of higher tiers were often the students there.

The students that were chosen to study at the Academy were the ones that reached at least a Magic tier of 5. It was a tier where a person was skilled enough to use and bend its magic with ease. A tier of this magic was commonly found in the higher tier of nobles because their child was trained by their clan's elders combined with their potentials.

When a commoner managed to reach it before his/her life span ended, they were allowed to enter the Academy. A few commoners that managed to rise at the top of the Academy had built his/her own clan and were now esteemed nobles however if the recent commoners wanted to reach it, they have to endure the tight competition inside and remain alive. Even nobles weren't guaranteed a hundred percent assurance of coming out alive and breathing.

Some of the successful individuals that finished studying at the Academy were now Archmages, Generals, and even a potential candidate to be a Magus Emperor.

Luna closed the book after reading the last page. Despite reading the history of Magus Nation, she didn't read a single glance about a wish-maker. It seemed to be almost nonexistent to the nation but Akiro's line of work was clearly a wish-maker.

She stood up from her seat and opened her rectangular bag. The rest of the book was about the study of magic. It's less likely that she would found similar magic about time since it seemed that his powers were unique and even the history book she read earlier didn't talk about it.

Out of curiosity, she opened a book entitled 'To Bend Magic at Your Own Will'. Even though half of Akiro's magic that went to Luna was time powers, she wanted to give it a try.

'As a person that reached the Magic tier of 5 or higher, you were supposed to learn the most basics of bending your magic, or else you should just hide under the dirt! '

Luna's eyes quivered. It's as if the book was mocking her. Nonetheless, she prevented herself from tearing the entire page of the book. It wasn't hers anyway.

'To bend your magic, you should learn how to make your magic that flows within your magic veins to release within your index finger and the amount should be the same as the shape of your body. It will be hard on your first try. For average persons, releasing a huge amount of magic would take several years. Depending on talent, the highest score recorded was within a week.'

'As a beginner, do this full of hopes and dreams! Always remember that this is the first key to become a Master of magic among others.'

After reading it, Luna didn't know how she would feel. Earlier it's mocking her and then suddenly, it became encouraging.

'Who wrote this book?!' she thought and frowned.

After a while, she started copying what she read in the book. She already knew how magic flows within her veins but releasing it was a whole other problem. Then Luna started to imagine that the magic that flows in her veins would slowly come out at the tip of her finger. She started to breathe heavily and her eyes widened after seeing something that she deduced was the form of magic.

It was a yellow substance that continued to glow like a bright bulb in the dark and the size of it continued to surpass her.

"Isn't it supposed to only reach the same as my body and it wasn't easy to do?!"

"Is this book even credible?!"

Luna didn't know what to do with the huge magic substance in front of her. She hastily raised her hands towards it and shouted.

"Stop, stop, stop," Luna uttered.

The growing magic substance stopped its growth the moment it heard Luna's voice.

"Finally," she said and quickly took the book about magic and read the next page.

'I assumed that you have already learned the first step upon reading this second step.'

'Since you have already succeeded in releasing magic, the next step should be learning to release magic that was already bent. The shape of magic differs depending on the type of magic within yourself. An example of it was ice, fire, water, earth, and others. But before doing that, you should first dissipate the magic you just released or take it back inside your magic veins.'

'The purpose of the first step was to prepare for the second step which is harder so the releasing of magic the substance only shows control and the practice of it will make bending of your magic easier.'

Luna stopped reading and looked at the huge magic substance again and sighed heavily.

"How can I make this huge magic substance disappear in front of me?" she said and sighed once again.
